Demba Ba Desperate To Come To Newcastle

There is news in the Sunday Sun today that Newcastle are indeed after West Ham striker Demba Ba.

Demba Ba – desperate to come to Newcastle

The local paper is reporting that a move for the West Ham striker is a priority at Newcastle, and the paper has verified that his agent has been saying a deal has indeed already been agreed with Newcastle.

The deal was supposed to have been hammered out on Friday night, but the Sunday Sun is saying things are not quite as far along as some reports would have you believe.

But they are reporting the Senegal striker is said to be “desperate” to join Newcastle, but Newcastle do also have doubts about the 26 year-old’s knee problem.

But given the knee is found to be sound after he undergoes a medical,  Newcastle think the player represents excellent value as a free agent.

It seems Newcastle could sign this player next week some time – maybe late in the week – but it seems that all Newcastle fans are not convinced he would be a good signing.

What do you think?

If he comes no doubt his contract will protect us if his knee blows up, MA to smart to waste money, Ba and Long would be a massive step forward to what we have now

It is 100% not Sow, they are already losing Cabaye, Rami and Gervinho. B
Next year they’re losing Hazard next year. Why would they sell Sow. They would ask for 20 million plus and he isnt worth it.

    Anyone being realistic round here?

Got a feeling the Sunday sun don’t know their ar2e from their elbow. One story say N’Zogbia would love to come back to NUFC and another story says he would like to link up with S.Bruce and T.Bramble at Sunderland and that Sunderland have already placed a bid. Would hate N’Zog to sign for the scum. Hope its rubbish.

how can fans say htis guy isnt what we need?

we are playing 1 up top next year with ben arfa off as pardew has said and Ba is big, strong and quick , who also scores goals and seemed to be good at holding up the ball too when ive seen him………..that for me is the credentials of a £10million striker yet he could be a free……..his injury problems are a slight downside to it all but for me this just means that we will definatley buy another striker which can only be good

i am ba’s biggest fan and his physical attributes and goal record are there to be seen in the top leagues, and even if he has a dodgy knee from time to time he’s a steal at a free

    MUST SIGN HIM!! 🙂

speculation sunday, all a plot to get you to buy papers.

Lille won’t let their team be took apart so Sow is not an option.
N’Zogbia would probably come to us if he doesn’t stay at wigan, as he “likes” the club for sticking with him from the start.
No way we’d go for Drogba, he’s too old.
    G. Carr has been to Korea recently and scoured Europe, couple that with the communications blackout from NUFC regarding transfers, I think we may already have our guys. MA likes to keep everything hush hush and boots media outlets that go against that, so I genuinely think the papers either know and aren’t telling, or (more likely) they haven’t go a ****ing clue.

There a few dissenters but I think most fans see this as a very good deal, as long as it is heavily incentivised on playing performances.

I’d take Ba in a heartbeat for free, absolute quality for nothing! risk free transfer for a player who is big, strong, fast, good in the iar and good feet and scores goals (proven) what’s not to like? This so called “injury proneness” seems a bit funny as somebody mentioned he’s played over 90 games in past 3 seasons, which im sure is prob about 80%, compare that with shola…

Not sure about Ba TBH.He is very Ameobi like. Plus the fact he has a dodgy knee by all accounts. We have had our fair share of crocks so another would not be appreciated. If he comes in cheap then fair enough (as a squad player). We need a number 9 in asap. Someone that wants to play for the club and appreciate the supporters, city and the stadium and not just come here for the money.

I’d take him but it would have to be on an incentive based contract due to his knee problem.

Also, all the people saying he’s free. He’s asking for around £4m in signing on fee’s, plus agent fee’s and that. This transfer will still be costing us.

Also worth remembering that Leon Best has pretty much the same stats for last season and doesnt have injury concerns.

atleast a few of us have our heads screwed on hahaha
It does do ya heed in but gotta admit it is exciting the prospect of some of these players we are being linked with pulling on a black n white top next season
roll on transfer deadline day when the mayhem comes to an end

    rite we have 5 clues,
    around 6-8mil,
    proven record,
    top european league,
obviously knowing ashley under 26 yers old,
    a favourite hunting ground
    international
so if its a favourite hunting ground its either france or holland, if hes proven at that league under 26 and hes so cheap between 6-8mil, then it has to be holland
think lads,, to me its screaming ruiz like

Why are we signing Ba? He almost has the same traits as Leon Best. And has identical goal ratio. Leon Best could well turn out to be a top class forward if he develops his game further. Leon Best has a tremendous leap and some of his finishing is of the highest level. What’s the point of Signing 2 forwards this window who will compete in the first team? I’d rather Sign a proven 1 instead of Ba. I want to see Best as a back up to the proven striker.

And sign another young potential striker who can be 3rd choice forward in case of injuries.

don’t know how people can judge Ba on 6 months at WHU and what they seen on Youtube. He’s what, 26? In his 1st year in a tough league, playing for a shite side, now if he come here and has a brilliant midfield behind him (if we get Zoggy and Co), he’ll rattle them in.
If our midfield stays fit even Ameobi could be made to look like Drogba (ok maybe too far, but a half decent striker should have fun).

I just hope Pardew rotates the squad and lets the like of Airey, Richardson, Kadar, Vuckic, Ferguson, etc play a part.

So we will have ample choice upfront for that lone spot.

    Top class striker, Sow?
    Best
    Wickham?
    Ameobi
    Lovenkrands
    Ranger
