Yohan Cabaye Urges Gervinho To Join Him On Tyneside

It turns out that the last time Yohan Cabaye was in the Lille dressing room, he told Gervinho to come and join him at Newcastle.

Cabaye -told Gervinho to join him at Newcastle

And Cabaye is even saying he thinks Gervinho would want to come to Newcastle, but things are very muddled with the Ivory  Coast International,  as it seems that multiple agents seem to be representing him, and each tells a different story. 🙁

Cabaye completed his £4.5M move from French club Lille, and he has already put in an offer on a house in the Newcastle area – so he plans a long stay on Tyneside – good.

This is the first ever transfer move for Cabaye, and he joined Lille back in 1998 and stayed loyal to them over 13 years, and it looks like he plans to do the same thing at Newcastle, and see out at least the next five years on Tyneside.

And from what we’ve seen of this lad so far, he could well become a firm favorite among Newcastle fans, and fairly quickly too.

The 25 year-old told the Sunday Sun today:

“Gervinho is a player I like a lot – on and off the pitch.”“When we played together in Lille, I told him he must come and join me at Newcastle as well! I think he listened. Now we will see what happens.”

“The French connection didn’t influence my decision to join Newcastle, but I took the advice of Dumas, N’Zogbia, David Rozenhal into account in moving here.”

“I was especially concerned to find out about the desires that the manager had,” “I went and talked to him and he answered all my questions. That was very important.”

“I was very impressed by Alan, he said he likes to play football in a passing style and he also knew a lot about me.”
“He answered all the questions I had. I knew it was the right move after talking to him.”

We’ve been surprised at how good Alan has looked as Newcastle manager, and he certainly seems to get on well with his players, and is fairly level headed after games.

It certainly seems that Yohan is a good capture for Newcatsle in many ways and we cannot wait to see this lad playing in central midfield for Newcastle next season – he looks a gifted player.

The more we think about Yohan Cabaye,  the more we think it’s a terrific  first deal for Newcastle this summer.

Cabaye defo seems to be a decent bloke like, already looking for a place to live and what not. Ive got a feeling that if that story in the sunday sun is true about, the big offer for the top striker that it could be Adebayor. which would be a class signing.

If Cabaye settles quickly, he will have the same impact as Tiote did last term and make himself a favorite with us fans

NEWS I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT before the England vs Switzerland game Newcastle has a bid of £8mil rejected by FC Basel for Xherdan Shaqiri, they have been watching him for a while and wanted to quickly tie up a deal. Basel want closer to £18mil and wernt prepared to sell him before the under 21 championships which they belive will start a bidding war.

Also Newcastle have bid for Stefan Kießling but i am not sure how much. Both of which i know for a fact!

I think MA and his cronies along with Pardew have to take a lot of credit for this signing, including Carr (presuming it was his advice they went on) I have a feeling he’ll be a great signing. hold my hands up if i’m wrong like.

they would have been mad to sell him before he shows off his talent at the under21’s but you can fault Newcastle and their strategy for trying

“Within 24 hours of touching down in Newcastle he had put an offer in on a house in the area and despite a shaky understanding of English, he has pledged to carry out his next interview in fluent Geordie” taken fron the SS he sounds like a top bloke like

    Maybe.

Anyway, good to know Alan wants a passing style of football for us. I suspected that with the type of players he has been looking at, and signed.

Nolan can lose his focus at times, and passing isnt his forte, no doubting his influence tho. Shall wait and see on this one.

Ben Arfa will be number 7. 100%! He has 37 on his back because he loves the number 7, wanted that but Barton had it, Taylor has 27 i think so he plumped for 37.. Guessing 17 was also taken
