Barton, Enrique And Gutierrez Next To Exit Newcastle

Mike Ashley has that knack of completely shocking Newcastle fans.

Mike Ashley – selling his captain now

First of all he fired manager Chris Hughton for no apparent reason last December, and then in January he sold Andy Carroll on the last day of the January transfer window.

And the next big shock is that he’s in the process of selling Kevin Nolan to West Ham, and after all Kevin is the Newcastle captain and the top goal-scorer last season and one our very best players.

So why sell him?

Joey Barton has been using that Twitter account of his again, and he’s likely to be the next one out the door at Newcastle, and he predicts he will not be the only one leaving.

This is what Joey relayed on his twitter account on hearing the news that Kevin Nolan was having a medical at West Ham, and he has predicted there could now be a player exodus out of Newcastle this summer.

“Great player, leader, captain, person, trainer and mostly a friend for life,” “Devastated to see him SOLD! Me, Jose Enrique and Jonas Gutierrez next.”

Of course this hardly helps the situation and we can now see Joey Barton definitely moving on this summer.

We’d like to give Mike Ashley the benefit of the doubt, but he’s made so many mistakes since buying the club four years ago – but we have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes at Newcastle right now – but it doesn’t look good.

It also shows that Alan Pardew has absolutely no power on who stays or goes at Newcastle, and his position has again been weakened by Kevin Nolan leaving the club, after Newcatsle only recently said they would not offer Joey Barton a new deal.

Alan Pardew had made it clear he wanted both players to sign new contracts, and that they were vital to the future of the Tyneside club.

We have no idea what’s going on at St. James’ Park at the moment, but as we said a week or two ago it seems to us that Mike Ashley is running the club with an iron fist, and he cares not at all about what Newcastle fans think.

Somebody at the club needs to explain exactly what’s going on.

    One question

Why is Nolan going down a divison and how much money would he be getting. higher than Newcastle or lower. my guess similar amount for a larger period

No one wants to see our best player go obviously but lets see how many fans will complain if we replace them with top signings this summer, if their replaced and we reach Europe next season all will be forgotten.

This is ridiculous… if this is true…
that means: Nolan, Barton, Enrique, Smith, Jonas out… oh and since Jonas and Colo are good friends, let’s sell Colo to… Then Tiote will say: I didn’t sign a 6 year contract for this… I want to leave… Harper will say: me the only veteran? I’m retiring… byebye first team and teamspirit… hello individual fools…

Atleast 3/8 of those players at the top of our screens will not be there next year. And regardless of the quality of the replacements for them. It isn’t enough as we need something called SQUAD DEPTH in order to qualify for Europe.

Joey Barton sure is one irresponsible melon! I’d prefer we signed better quality before we start selling off our players etc but until the window closes there’s nothing to add really.

It’s ashley’s fault because he is obviously offering unrealistic, unfair contracts as a means of strong-arming them out of the club – which is actually what he wants, vis a vs Carroll.

The fact that Nolan has opted to a Championship club tells you everything you need to know about what kind of unrealistic deal was on offer.

It’s perfect, refuse to negotiate on one-sided contracts, put your hands in the air when the player leaves – have the fans think you did nothing wrong. divvent be so gullible.

To be fair to the club, they only have 4 options on Nolan:

    1. Accept a decent offer for him now and get him off the books.
    2. Accept a poor offer next season.
    3. Let him go for NOTHING when his contract expires.
    4. Pander to him and offer him the contract he wants, which will see him here as a high earner into his 30?s where he may not be playing week-in-week-out.

Now, which of those is most appealing??

i would be surprised if we sold jonas becuase as he came out recently he could have left newcastle when they went down but he showed that he had some loyalty and helped us rebuild. However with mike ashley you never know what his next move will be – cheeky 50 mil bid for messi?

Joey said they club didnt offer him a contract? knowing the way the club operate making up fake stories of Andy putting in a Transfer Req, Do you know what they got offered? Nolan has a 2 year contract, and when being at his level of fitness it would be madness to sign him up for a longer period. If he wants to leave, no problem.

He’s got the stamina of a Sunday league player.

The despute over his contract was the length being offered, not the money.

Trouble is, if you bend the rules for one player, you then set a president, and then every player will go to the owner and say, “ok, this is the contract I want now”.

Barton is a disruptive influence in the dressing room, just because he didn’t get the contract offer he wanted.

He is lucky to still be laying professional football, thanks to nufc. He has a short memory and should wind his neck in.

If other players want to go then so be it, but we don’t need Barton telling everyone about problems in the club, he knows that other teams will offer contracts to players who are unhappy.

At the minute this “decent offer” you speak of is reported to be either £1.5m or £3m. Of course these are reports, but if either of those two are true, then I wouldn’t exactly call that accepting a decent offer.

Both Barton and Nolan have shown their commitment to the club over the past 2 years. Nolan was outstanding this season and carried out his duty as captain well. We are not arsenal, selling players as soon as they turn 30. We were able to hit back from relegation because of team spirit and that’s what this current squad is made of. The club shows no commitment in the players and this is what Ashley does.

I don’t see why people are so upset. He just doesn’t have the legs anymore, and wanted too long of a contract. Better to get some cash for him now and get him replaced. He’s no Scholes or Giggs to be rocking at that kind of age.

You have to think, if he is that good a player, why are there no EPL clubs in for him ???

Hard to say it is Ashley’s fault.

Barton & Nolan tried to force longer contracts than the club wanted to give.

Ashley didn’t like their attitude and played hardball.

I don’t have a problem if we get better players in.

No sign of the club having the balls to buy a 15M player. That’s worrying.

Will they spend the AC money plus what they would have invested?

At the moment that doesn’t look the likeliest of outcomes.

After Hughton & Carroll, I’m resigned to Ashley doing things I don’t like.
I’m now a lot more emotionally detached about things out of my control.

    Buy Quality Replacements Please!

Even if he thinks he is right, with all the water under his bridge he should learn to keep schtum.
Only thing that worries me with so many ins and outs ,it gives Pardew that old excuse that the players need to gel if we are having a crap season.

Im not too worried about not buying a £15M player, as we need a good balance of Quality & Quantity.

Also, £15M for a player outside the EPL is a HUGE gamble really.
