Which Winger Will Join Newcastle?

News late yesterday is that Tranquillo Barnetta is looking to leave Bayern Leverkusen this summer.

Barnetta-Would be an excellent signing

Barnetta was linked with a transfer to Newcastle during this past January window. However an ill-timed knee injury put an end to Newcastle’s interest.

Their interest could be rekindled with the likelihood of a Gervinho capture looking less than likely. Barnetta would be a great signing since he can play on either wing and also could spell Tiote as a defensive midfielder if needed. This is certainly a player that would be welcomed with open arms on Tyneside and a bargain at around £6mil.

Of course Newcastle is also linked Charles N’Zogbia who is much more expensive but a few years younger than Barnetta. Charles is also premiership proven so there would be little risk in bringing him back to Newcastle-his temperament not withstanding.

A few players that have not been linked to Newcastle but would be great buys (Let’s face it-did anyone have a clue about Cabaye until he was in basically in the bag) are Marseille’s Andre Ayew or Anderlecht’s Jonathan Legear. Both are internationals with pace to burn. While Ghana’s Ayew would cost around the same as N’Zogbia, Belgium’s Legear could be signed for much less. Probably around £4mil.

Andre Ayew would be a definite coup since he is in contract until 2014, is only 21, and has had a break-out year in both the World Cup and Ligue 1.

We would love to see any of these players at Newcastle next season. With signings imminent in the next few weeks, let’s hope we can capture on of these young exciting players.

Good buy IF N’Zogbia doesn’t fancy a return.

Looks like Nolan+BarToon’s replacements are being looked into…

What happened to our supposed interest in Ryad Boudebouz? We’ve been linked with more players that i can remember at this point.

it’s about time we produced a new beardsley , gazza or twaddle .
my god how i crave a new beardsley in a black and white top ,
we should be producing them but with the full focus on todays gave being athleticism heaven forbid how many players like those ive mentioned have been cast aside due to not fitting the mould . were missing out on our le’tissiers and gazza’s , if lionel messi tried to make it in this country he would have been turned away as a teenager for being to small , ive seen it happen to some really gifted people .
guess im fed up of having no real flair players around the place for so long and wondering where the ones we used tobe able to churn out have disappeared to . i really think any young kids these days no matter how talented are being cast aside and their hopes dashed at an early age for not being able to run the 100m in under 10 secs

Sometimes you just have to wonder what we want?
I have supported this bloody club OF MINE and OURS longer than I guess most of you, ie 50 years plus, and sang abide with me,my ambition by the way, and got Tonked, twice against MANURE n ARSE! at the proper twin towers Wembley!
I am a selfmade bizman and applaud difficult decisions and give ASH/PARDS/DELLBOY some credit for hells sake! The old guard got us where we are and were handsomely rewarded but 12th?, If we finally move forward in this era of FINACIAL FAIR
PLAY ,we need to get expensive oldies off our books that are not automatic choices and do what it seems is our new strategy, younger starlets that can deliver together in a few years. Waited this long, nothing else has worked!

Current Wingers : Gutierrez and HBA

We need another winger who can play at either wing, so either:
    1) Zoggy ( dont mind him at 12 million)
    2) Barnetta (never saw him playing)
    3) Vladimir Weiss !!!!!

Youngsters : We got Shane Ferguson for left winger and Sammy Ameobi as right winger.

and mike ashley, could u please be more civil towards the contract issue of barton n nolan, they r the best performers for us last season..they r worth the contract that they want, so mike, dont be such an egoistic overweight bollocks.

Just been reading about the “fantastic” offer made to gameiro. would that be similar to the “fantastic” offer made to Enrique who pardupe has apparently given up on. For fantastic read “Derek llambias school of public relations code for – actually a derisory offer because the fat man is a tight-wad who wants to limit expenditure to peanuts, so that he can sell on the club, whilst making it look like we’re throwing the kitchen sink at it”. Fact is an already paper thin squad is not being strengthened; we’re barely replacing those that have been sold/allowed to move on. Time to vote on the fat tw@ with your feet , i.e don’t renew season tickets, buy the cheapest looking replica shirt i’ve seen in years. Won’t happen though – most mags will moan about the state of affairs, but’ll do bugger all about it.

Sorry toonroz, but looks like you were close to hitting it big with a bet on Shearer taking over at Cardiff, but unfortunately your holiday will have to be put on hold because it was an unsuccessful meeting with the Cardiff owner (not even going to attempt to try and spell his name). You win some and you lose some comes to mind!

Lady Luck has shone upon me this very week!

I get ta watch some Live Newcastle United Action this weekend!(on the tele)

Apparantly on the Tv schedule its listed
    Newcastle United V.S Singapore U15’s.

Dont know if its some local Singaporean Black and white supporters team, or Newcastles U15 lads coming over here!. Regardless im hoping it eases the pain of not having Newcastle games every week end!.

This transfer window and lack of footie on the tele is taking its toll on me!

Newcastle are closing in on Switzerland’s Tranquillo Barnetta

Bayer Leverkusen’s £6million-rated midfielder, 26, opened the door by making it clear he wants to leave the German club.

haha. toonruz claimed Alan Shearer to Cardiff was confirmed. In the end Shearer did not go to Cardiff has talks broke down. I pity the lots who still believe in him and thinks Gervinho is going to sign for us. Gervinho has agreed personal terms with Arsenal. It seems we have not even put in a bid for him.

Nzogbia and Barnetta would be just as exciting.

@ilovetoon the last I heard was that Newcastle were in talks with him but couldn’t agree personal terms which would mean toonruz couldnt of known better… Also who is that dude who sId don’t you hate how pardew says which players were buying. Cause he is wrong we bought 2 players and neither were mentioned untill it was 90% certain… Eroding is the only one but that seems a bit suspicious right ????

Yes, it is our young lads, mate

I was curious so I did a bit of googling, and found that it’s an under 15 tournament called the Lion City Cup, and includes teams from Newcastle, Everton, Juventus and Flamengo (Brazil). I was surprised that I didn’t find any mention of it on the official site (or nufc.com) but here’s a couple of links that give the info:

Just out of interest, would anybody else think that looking at Davide Santon as a replacement/back up for Simpson would be a good shout?

Not really able to push Maicon out at inter, willl be relatively cheap but still a young international and handy player?
