Exodus Very Likely This Summer At Newcastle

Well it seems that Mike Ashley and Kevin LLambias have really upset a number of Newcastle’s most experienced players.

Mike Ashley – another fine mess?

It is now almost certain that Joey Barton will leave once a suitable offer is made for the player, and the fact he wants to stay to see out his contract through next summer will have no bearing on the matter.

We have to think those twitter comments yesterday were the last  straw for the Newcastle hierarchy, and Joey will now definitely be sold.

We all know that Jose Enrique wants to leave,  and it’s been a long running and rather boring saga with Jose since January, when Andy Carroll was sold and caused a lot of the more experienced players at Newcastle to question the ambitions of the club.

And news today that even Steve Harper, the local lad who has been at Newcastle since Kevin Keegan signed him back in 1993, is assessing his position at the club.

Alan Smith has also been told to find a new club, and so it seems that Alan Smith, Kevin Nolan, Steve Harper and Joey Barton, the four leading players who brought Newcastle back from the disaster that was relegation two years ago, could all leave the club before September rolls around.

It seems that Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias have really upset the experienced players, and we are now very likely to see an exodus this summer, with the side being a lot different come August than last season.

A good question is what happens to the team spirit,  and who will become the new leaders at the club?

We’d like to hear from the manager Alan Pardew,  but he is keeping his counsel at the moment, but it’s abundantly clear he has little power over things at the club.

This seems all very sad for Newcastle, and we have to hope for new signings very soon to lift the spirits of  Geordie fans.

Comments welcome.

    Anywho

There certainly could be an exodus at nufc, that’s why we need to make sure we buy before we sell/release.

There’s definitely a few that should be off the books, smith, xisco ect.

Liked the look of piquionne a while ago, didn’t do too well last season though. Anyway when the deal is finalised there may be more information. Most likely a cash deal though, IMO.

Looks like Ashley and his Gang are after beating up the opposition on the block. When Steve Harper is apparently assessing his situation then things are really bad indeed. Seems like we are witnessing a night of the long knives by Ashley and his cronies. If anybody thinks Pardew is going to stand up and actually “manage” we will be a long time waiting. Ashley – time you listened. This is NUFC you are messing around with. You own it but it is our club here on Tyneside. It is NUFC not some barrow load of cheap knickers you are flogging off some stall outside White Hart Lane.

I love Harper as much as the next man but Krul and Forster are here should he leave.

Yes, they need EPL experience but I can’t think of a better way for them to get it.

Just a guess, but I think that nufc will announce signings today or more likely tomorrow.
I believe they knew that the sale of Nolan would cause unrest amongst the fans and will want to appease fans quickly after the sale, again IMO.

you would have to hope we have signings lined up and its just a case of dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s if these players go, otherwise the longer the window goes on without replacing them the more clubs will have us over a barrel and will just push the price up.

He just try to make our club to be his money pool. Stay on the TOP league, pay low salary and grab the profit money from TV and player sold.

I think he should change the club name to MiKeCastle PLc.

Oh for God’s sake Ed it’s fantastic to have you back and I’m thrilled to hear your doing better but really you have to pull away from this negatvity it’s not helping anyone.

Kevin Nolan is going to West Ham on a 5 year deal on 55k a week I love the guy for all he’s done but that is just plain stupid he’s getting slower and he seemed to be blowing out his backside after 10 minutes towards the end of the season. Not to mention the fact he just had ankle surgery which isn’t going to make him any quicker. As one of the other lads put on the previous post if he was THAT good why have no prem teams come in for him?

Joey Barton has dug his own grave as far as I’m concerned he had 1 decent season and all of a sudden believes the club owes him something? Er sorry bonny lad 1st season you were in jail 2nd season you were injured and we still paid your 65k a week wages and stuck by you. We owe you something?? Howay man you still owe us and spouting off on Twitter is the height of unprofessionalism.

Alan Smith I don’t even feel I need to comment on suffice to say I don’t think many would shed a tear to have his wages off the books and Steve Harper is 37 and now holding back the development of Krul so he’s back to second choice at most in my book.

Bold new era guys I’m sad that KN has gone but I think we can replace him and I think the reason you haven’t heard anything from Pardew is because he’s busy working on targets to make us a better team. No more negativity Ed time to look forward and not back. Judge the team on 1st September and not until then.

Harper is a good goalkeeper, however he is getting older and we have two quality keepers in krul and Forster. He has been a good servant, but I wouldn’t be gutted.

we looked awful for the second half of the season anyway.
joey barton is good but we can replace him.
nolan – isn’t getting any younger.
enrique – was never going to stay anyway.
gutierrez – can’t cross, easily replaced.
harper – seriously, who cares. good on him for hanging around but we have 2 very decent looking young keepers.
    smith – haha

team spirit – who cares about team spirit if it means hanging onto average, aging players and cementing a place in the bottom half.

our team is pretty shite, we’re just used to it and think our average players are world class!

Remember, these leaders at the club got NUFC relegated in the first place, it is time to move on and build a side capable of challenging for europe. I respect the way Nolan and Barton etc stood by us, but that was mostly down to the fact they were on wages that no other club would be willing to pay for them !

Demba Ba is signing for the Toon within 24 hours! Great news, keep players of that quality coming!

And stop the negative focus Ed, Newcastle will only sell players if the price is right. And if so, I’m fairly sure the money will be reinvested.

i really cant see harper leaving because of this situation, he has’nt been outspoken and has always been profesional. the only reason i can see harper considering his future would be if he has been told he isnt first choice next season and shouldnt be automatically be assumed it is related to bartons comments and nolan leaving

Newcastle United have won the race for Demba Ba, Sky Sports sources understand.

A number of clubs have been tracking Ba since it emerged he could leave on a free transfer following West Ham’s relegation from the Premier League.
The Senegal international has been weighing up his options, but it emerged it was a straight fight between Everton and Newcastle.
Ba has now decided that his future is best served on Tyneside, and Sky Sports sources understand he is now travelling to the North East.
The 26-year-old will finalise his deal in the next 24 hours and could be confirmed as a Newcastle player before the weekend.
