We just watched Newcastle new signing Demba Ba being interviewed by Sky Sports and he seems just delighted to be joining Newcastle.
Demba Ba – at Newcastle this afternoon
He has also been talking to Newcastle United TV, and this is what our new signing said this afternoon:
“I’m very excited to be here,””Everything has been sorted out and now I’m happy because I can start to focus on playing and scoring goals for Newcastle.”
“This is a great Club and a very good team, so to sign here was an easy choice to make.”
“I have spoken to Hatem Ben Arfa about the Club and he told me how happy he is here, and how big Newcastle are, so I’m really happy and I can’t wait to start playing.”
“I know a lot of famous strikers have played here before and I will do my best to win games for the Club.” “When I step on the pitch, all I want to do is win games, and I think the Premier League is a good league for me.”
“I will keep on working hard. I’ve heard that the atmosphere here is great and I can’t wait to score some goals in front of our fans and here that atmosphere for myself.”
Well, Demba Ba will get his chance on Saturday, August 13th, when Newcastle entertain Arsenal at the famous St. James’s Park.
Comments welcome.

Comment #84Well, that don’t concern directly NUFC, but that can have heavy repercussion on the transfer market, si a word about Paris Saint Germain.
The new Quatari’s owners will probably spent 150 millions euros in the club this summer.
Leonardo, by any evidence, will be the new GM of the club.
And a lot of great name are in the media for the players. Like young brazillians star, Ganzo, Lucas and Neymar. But also more experienced players like Kaka or even Eto’o.

Comment #88To be honest we should perhaps throw a cheeky bid for ETO and even try the dice with some other big names ..like Berbatov etc…. I think what has been lacking is a real no 9 as has been mentioned so many times…BUT if I look carefully at a lot of the games we let it slip by our shoddy defense… WBA come to mind also letting in a goal from Mackem filth was dumb should have taken that game away from them…

Comment #89Hey you never know they could pair up nicely? Shola blows to hot cold…not premiership material …Vs Chelsea he was superb allowing us to win but elsewhere he was slow and slouchy…

Comment #90Nice one! He looks like a real all rounder, got pace, power and can poach aswell! Well suited to the premier league, i just pray that his knee can take it, as it would be just our luck for him to start off the season brilliantly and then by xmas be crocked 🙁

I know that he had a poor season this year, did he have many injuries or was it just loss of form????

Comment #94More gossip…….Looks like the club are trying to force Jose to move to Liverpool.
He wants to stay next year and see where we finish!
If in Europe he stays, if not he leaves for nowt on his terms!
Of course if Barca or another Spanish CL club comes in he’s off.
Only gossip mind!

Comment #95Last deason erding was playing in a poor psg team, the 3 seasons before that for psg and sochaux he was closer to a goal every 2 games. Hes quick and a decent finisher, far better player than lovenkrands and shola.
In the journal today it said newcastle were after 3 strikers, erding, ba and another.
We are supposed to be playing 4231 so only on will play with ben arfa and 2 wingers supporting.(nzog/barnetta)

Comment #96Erdinc is simply not worth it, even if we can get him for £5-6m since we’ve got Best who have done pretty well last season
We need someone special 😀

Comment #97I reckon we should go for N’Zogbia. I think Larrson would be decent on a free but he doesnt seem to want to come and a lot of you guys dont seem to want him.
And Sturridge is still very young but if we could lock him down (un-realistic i know) he could become a great number 9. However, lets make sure our next number 9 is worthy.
Although I reckon we should pair up the Ameobi boys next season. I think magic would occur

Comment #103Not sure about Ba. Had a purple patch much like Best and another injury liability to go with the rest. Looks like another along the lines of Shola, Best and Loven to me.. a mid-table striker.
So far £40mil in from the sales of nolan and Carroll, £4.5 mil spent and half of you are doing cartwheels… you’re easily pleased.

Comment #104Concerning Ba and Ben arfa, ther both from the “92”, or “les hauts de Seine”. Ironically, this is the most rich area of France ( Sarkozy is from there), but there still some popular town due to chaotics urbanization.
In fact, they are from what we call in France “la culture banlieue” (suburb culture). Which mix elements from various origins, french, african, caribean, jewish (Ben arfa agent and close friend is a jewish from who was leaving in the same building than him) and a bit from southeast asia.
In France, foreigners from different origin don’t leave in separated area, so despite, many of our young players are originated from different countrys, there is a real feeling of common identity between them and some solidarity.

It is, that’s why I like it, just annoys me that it’s a spuds kit! In all seriousness though it looks as though puma have done a good job this year, as I must say last years puma designs were pretty tragic, both ours and the spuds’ looked dire.
Agree about the Brown Ale! Can’t see it happening again though unfortunately 🙁 would be nice maybe for an anniversary year or something.

It’s event not a problem of attitude, for he’s a fine guy.

If this is true. I reckon we’d be better off keeping him and letting him run his contract out. Yeah we’d get nothing for him but he was central to all success last season. If he stays it’ll keep morale up especially with his bezzies Colo and Jonas and if he gets us into europe surely the club will not loose out too much from releasing him on a free. Its a gamble i know but thats my style

1. Wigan have accepted our £10m bid and Zogg is due at St James for a Medical on Tues!
2. PSG have accepted a bid of £6m for Erding and he is set to fly in next week!
3. We are close to agreeing a deal for Weiss from Man City.
All from agent gossip, so has some substance, but still gossip!

Comment #112Some people on here aren’t that keen on Erding but I think we’ll end up signing him, thats what a few of the journalists on Twitter think.
Luke Edwards tweeted “I expect Ba and Mevlut Erdinc to be the first choice for #nufc. Ameobi & Lovenkrands as cover. Prob sign another striker as well”

Comment #113I hope I am right, that if a couple more good signings come in, Enrique might sign a new contract? Liverpool’s bids so far have been derisory and I don’t notice Barca banging on Ashley’s door. Like most I am sorry to see Nolan go but 5 year contracts for 29 year olds are not in Ashley’s plan and rightly so. When they can’t play any more you are just paying them for nothing. I think Joey has burnt his boats. Nobody will take him off us until he is for free. So far so good. Sturridge would be great but I think we are too optimistic there. I would like to see Zog back, Barnetta and a proven striker. Then Enrique may stay.

No. 1: Bosh! would love that to be true, I hated Zog for leaving as I had him on my shirt haha, but if he comes back i’ll be able to whack it back on.
No.2: Not too bothered, would be an improvement on Lovenkrands though I suppose.
No.3: That would be a nifty little signing, great for depth and would challenge Jonas too.

Haha definitely! However times change and we hopefully we can now to start to look forward.
