More good news today about the burgeoning reputation of Newcastle United in French Football.
Blaise Matuidi – a Newcastle target
There is some great news in the Evening Chronicle today, that the agent of Newcastle targets Blaise Matuidi and Mevlut Erdinc, has put out a huge compliment to the Newcastle club.
And the agent has said that he thinks any French player would love to join Newcastle, and it seems that Newcastle’s reputation in France is getting better and better.
And it’s hardly surprising the two French players the club have brought in so far this summer, Yohan Cabaye and Sylvain Marveaux, have talked in glowing terms of their delight at moving to a club like Newcastle.
Hey, Newcastle could even be a better club than Newcastle fans realize – but no – that cannot be true.
😀
But Newcastle must be doing something very right, at least as far as the French are concerned.
French agent Pierre Frelot, who represents both Blaise Matuidi and Mevlut Erdinc, had this to say today about Newcastle United:
“Any player in France would love to come to Newcastle – they are an absolutely fantastic club.”
“All the French lads who go to Newcastle are really enthusiastic about the club and the football public in the North East too.”
“Newcastle has a place in the hearts of French football. Great players like Laurent Robert and David Ginola have played there and enjoyed it and the supporters loved them too.”
“Of course any French player would be interested in Newcastle.”
We have to quickly point out that this doesn’t necessarily mean both players will be coming to Newcastle.
But it would certainly appear that both players could be more than happy to join Newcastle, if the club can agree a fee with their clubs St Etienne (Matuidi) and PSG (Erdinc).
And there again maybe Pierre Frelot is so ecstatic because he’s going to make some big money by arranging the transfer of his two clients to Newcatsle.
St Etienne’s Matuidi could be quite expensive, and the current price that PSG have put on Erdinc is said to be around £10M.
It would appear that Newcastle must be acting very professionally in the transfer market, and it’s surprising how big a name Newcastle seem to have in France right now.
That’s all good news though.
Comments welcome.

Ironically I indeed do understand the concept of which you speak, however what that has to do with my rant against whinging little shitebags is quite baffling. Perhaps an intelligent explanation by yourself may clarify it slightly. I wait in great anticipation of your response my fine fellow.

Comment #51The irony is clearly that he appears to be the youngest, most hysterical, least intelligent person posting here, judging by his 3 posts.
I love how the first post was an angry reaction to – to what exactly? Just another keyboard warrior looking for arguments over the internet.

I hope your right mate but to be honest I’m getting boree of the Gervinho saga I would love for him to sign mo doubt but either sign for us or dont but don’t keep us dangling as we can move onto our next targets. I.e Daniel Sturridge 10 / 15 mill nd he fits the bill on what we now look for in players young quality nd decent price nd at least with him he English nd EPL experienced.

Comment #53cwarr82. Wow man. Thump said almost everything I though of. Just to add – anger management dude. Take a pill and relax.
You talk about “intelligent” comments and discussions but yours is not in that category.
Are you sure you are a NUFC fan? Because if so, you talk about your fellow fans in a way you shouldn’t.

If you care to read ED’s last post about players being allowed to leave NUFC you will find a number of comments made in criticism towards the Owner of this site. It was aimed at those very people who will now have migrated to this new topic which would make a post on the previous topic unread . OK!

Once again a commenter on this site who does not go with your flow is accused of being something other than a NUFC supporter. 1973 first game aged 3 in leazes end on Uncles shoulders v Liverpool OK. last game NUFC V West Brom 2011 Gallowgate end (old corner) season ticket holder OK. Now please accept that just because you do not like or agree with what I say does not make me a Mackem or something else unpleasnt, failing that just f right off.

Comment #60Ironically I indeed do understand the concept of which you speak
That isn’t irony. And it would be “I do indeed”, not the other way around.
It has to do with you whining about people whining and having a go at people for no good reason. Go back to RTG mate, there’s plenty of nutjobs over there.

Comment #61Does anyone understand why we are selling Nile Ranger for 1M?
Surely we could loan him out so any attitude problems aren’t ours.
Hopefully in a season or two he’ll be a better player and more mature.
It wouldn’t cost us a penny to try this …?

Comment #62Nah, I don’t get it at all Geoff. He’s inconsistent but has flashes of brilliance. All he needs is a regular game where he’s starting games rather than being a sub and a bit of confidence.
Can’t help but feel we’re losing a future star in Nile.

Will his attitude drag NUFC’s name through the mud again? Undoubtedly
