News from Sweden today, that Newcastle United are increasing their interest in two forwards with the same last name – Mohamed Bangura and Teteh Bangura.
Teteh Bangura – referred to as the new Didier Drogba
Both players were born in Sierra Leone and both are currently playing together at Swedish club AIK
Mohammed joined AIK last year and the two men are big pals, and the news in Sweden say that Newcastle have been watching both players for a while now.
21-year-old 6 ft tall Teteh was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, and has said that Newcastle have been following his progress in Sweden since he signed for FC Köping last year.
This is the player whose style has been compared with Didier Drogba and he’s often referred to as the new Didier Drogba, and that can’t be bad.
Newcastle were linked with this player in May, and this is what I wrote about the player at that time.
This is what Teteh said today:
“I know Newcastle have seen all my matches and follow me,”
5’10” tall Mohamed Bangura is also 21 years old, but 5 months older than Teteh, and he was born in Kambia, Sierra Leone and is also said to have Newcastle’s interest.
Mohamed Bangura
Mohamed’s natural position is forward, and he is described as a hard-working, powerful player with significant pace and possesses good technical skills.
AIK Sporting Director Jens Andersson has been talking to Fotbolldirekt.se today about Teteh, who is also supposedly being tracked by Ajax.
“The interest hasn’t faded, it’s no lower than a few months before.”
“I think that he has just become better and better. The big difference is that he so far hasn’t scored many goals, but they will come and I think that the clubs that follow him know that.”
“Foreign clubs see him in each game and they know what class he has. And there are more now than earlier this spring that follow Mohamed.”
Teteh has two caps with one goal for Sierre Leone, and Mohammed has 3 caps with one goal for his country.
It’s hard to know exactly how good these two players are, but it’s right in line with Newcastle’s new scouting policy of watching young players across Europe, and then bringing them to Newcastle, where they can then be coached to bring the very best out of them.
This is probably some good news, and it’s certainly encouraging to know the Tyneside club are scouting so many players in Europe these days.

Comment #81Aim for no more than 3 home defeats and to be a fortress.
At least 5 away wins.
A Cup (FA Cup/Carling Cup settle for either)
