It seems that Newcastle are locked in tough negotiations with PSG for their Turkish striker, Mevlut Erdinc, but no fee has yet been agreed between the two clubs – yet.
Mevlut Erdinc – no agreement on transfer fee
We think that once a fee can be worked out, the transfer could go through fairly quickly, with the player more than willing to join Newcastle.
But Newcastle will not be taken to the cleaners this summer by any club over unfair transfer fee.
PSG were reported to be looking for around £10M for their striker, but something just over half that amount, would seem to be a fair price, because after all it appears like Mevlut will lose his place to newly signed Kevin Gameiro next season at the Paris club.
The Newcastle Journal is reporting today that the Tyneside club were quoted a fee of £6M for the Turkish International, when they first inquired about the player last summer.
And Newcastle will no doubt be arguing that although Erdinc played very well last season in France, he only notched 9 goals in his 34 appearances for the Paris side.
There may be a lot wrong with the current hierarchy at Newcastle, but they will not be messed around by clubs in the transfer market, seeking high prices for their players.
Newcastle will try to get a decent deal for the player, but don’t be surprised if at some point Newcastle just walk away from this deal.
To get a deal PSG must first lower their valuation of the player.
