Fraser Forster is certainly in demand these days, and there’s a report in The Sun today that Norwich will offer Newcastle £2M for their number three goalkeeper.
Fraser Forster – goalkeeper in great demand
With Norwich in the Premier League next season, and if if the deal is made, it could give Fraser a chance to be playing in the top English League.
Only on Saturday did Celtic come in with a bid of £1.5M for the 6’7″ goalkeeper, who was on loan at Celtic last season, but it was turned down immediately, and we expect this bid to also be turned down quickly.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon said he would be back with an improved offer, but both clubs, at which Fraser has been on loan these last couple of seasons, may have to increase their bids, if they want to persuade Newcastle to sell.
Forster was a top performer for Norwich the season before last, when the East Anglia club were promoted from League One, and they were also promoted last season from the Championship to the Premier League, while Forster was at Celtic.
We’ll have to wait and see what Newcastle want to do with their 23 year-old goalkeeper, but it’s clear this lad has greatly impressed his two former loan clubs, and it could be that an offer of £3M may tempt Newcastle to sell.
