Neil Taylor Not Arriving At Newcastle Any Time Soon

News today that it is increasingly unlikely that Swansea City’s Neil Taylor will be able to join Newcastle before next Monday, when pre-season training starts for next season.

Neil Taylor – bring kept by Swansea

Taylor is represented by his agent Jamie Moralee – and of course Neil was just delighted when Newcastle came after him a few weeks ago.

So not only are Swansea not seemingly honoring the lad’s contract, which is said to have a release clause in it for £1M – but they are also preventing the youngster from taking up a massive opportunity on Tyneside.

And sources in Wales have confirmed that Newcastle will have to increase their offer if they still want  Taylor.

But surely Newcastle should follow the legal route on this,  and if Neil has that release clause in his contract, then there’s absolutely nothing Swansea can do about it.

Just like Blackburn could do nothing about Phil Jones £16.5M release clause, when the Red Devils came a calling after they had found out about the release clause, probably the information was revealed to them by his agent, who would get money form the transfer.

A Swansea insider said today:

“Swansea are going to have one unhappy young man on their hands when pre-season starts next week.

“Neil has loved his time at Swansea but the chance to join a huge club like Newcastle is a once- in-a-lifetime opportunity and he feels they are standing in his way.”

It’s very true that Neil will be anything but happy with his club, Swansea City today, for multiple reasons.

Comments welcome.

    Bonjour messieurs.

Just to tell there’s news on Erding.

It seems PSG is offering Lille 31,5 millions euros for Eden Hazard. Wich didn’t concern NUFC will you tell me…

Well, they offer 31,5 millions and… Erding.

Nothing confirmed yet. Will follow that.

Its been pointed out since day one, the clause mentioned is NOT a release clause. The clause allows an interested party to enter negotiations. A bit like at an auction where you meet the reserve price. Swansea are under no obligation to sell.

Doom mongers are out in all their glory today. First of all sturridge has had a good half season and its the EC claiming where not interested not the club. Wickham has 15 gosls in 70+ apps in fizzy pop league so i wouldn’t pay upto 13m either. The way people are going on you would think they were sh!t hot n the truth is their not. We have until the 1st of september to get players in so chill a bit. Could you imagine how boring july and august would be if we had all our transfer deals dobe by end of june like most people seem to think should be happening

Not necessarily Niafron the biggest problem is unfortunately the toon seems to have a small section of ridiculous idiots that moan and moan all the time. There also the ones that didnt keep there season tickets when we got relegated and then come back when were in the prem and think there owed something. The days have gone when newcastle would bid masses on one player. Fans need to look and see in the past where that got us? Did we win owt ? A new approach is needed they just need to accept it but therw thick. Rather than rebuild they’d rather we offered 30m and 140k a week for Gomez and win nothing again. (gomez and example)

    Boom Boom

Why has the Argie turned into Ings? Can we not buy both? Is it one or the other?

There will be a number of targets on shortlist and some will be for now and some for future which is what Ings would be if true.

Anyway stop getting so aggitated by every rumour that comes out or you will be in bloody hospital with heart attack before the season even starts.

Oh yes, niafron. That’s this club down to a tee – all born out of love, of course.

@luke: If you’ve just pasted a Colin tweet, have a quiet word with yourself.

@leeb: Mate, don’t try and talk sense into them. Let them be angry and upset. They’ll get bored and realise that live isn’t all that bad sooner or later.

Well, better have the players early. You need them in July, if you want them to be fit for the beginning of the season. The points of august games got the same value than those of november…

its a bit funny I seem to have missed all the Doom mongers today, most of the comments have been fair ones, I could put up real doom & gloom, just because of past expectations ruined by the owner, I feel that because of psg’s new found wealth we could see us priced out of the French market, but lets just hope Ashley was aware of the psg takeover and acted accordingly.

From my point of view, the strategy of the club was pretty smart, but she unfortunately, she failled!

Ok, so, you sell Carrol in winter. A smart move for 3 reason:

-The club need another profile of striker, for he want to change his play, leaving old traditional air play.
-At the last day of winter market, the deal have probably give you more money than he would have in summer.
-The most important thing, the club have win time to work and thusfar initiative.

The faillure is about the last point. By aiming the wrong guys (Gervinho and Gameiro), the club have lose the oportunity to “blitz” the market. Cabaye was a succes, sure, but now, the club have lose initiative.

Concerning Ba and Marveaux, this is pretty clever, altough risky (concerning Marveaux, i’m also stuned by how quick the club have react).
Sure, if you don’t bet, you can’t win…

Well, that’s my point of view, i hope to be fair and Balanced.

Agree its better to have them in early but it just doesnt happen anymore theirs so much to negotiate the such as fees then you have agents speaking to numerous clubs trying to get the best deals for their players. Who have tottenham, stoke, bolton……. Brought in??? Yet its only our fans that kick up such a stink and stop listening to papers. We have been linked with so many players so far and surely you dont believe everything you read in papers. Papers know we supposed to have money to spend so therefore link us with any1, liverpool are spending like mad so they get linked too. Papers have pages to fill so 9 out of 10 times they put 2 and 2 togethet and get 5 and idiots out there believe it to be gospel.

What is your view on how good Cabaye ond Marveaux are? Obviously fans on here not seen alot of them and some seem concerned that we bought one via a release clause and the other on a free. Put aside his injury just comment on his play.

Both of them are good players. Cabaye is an all around player, equally good for Offensiv eand defensive purpose. He got a good shot, a good pass froward, he work hard.
Typically the kind of guy i would recruit to build a team.
Altough they don’t have the same play, you can, i a sense, compare Marveaux to him, for he’s also a very regular player.

He’s also very gifted, the kind of guy who can win a game alone in a good day, but who will not slow the team in a bad one.

So, putting aside Marveaux’s Health, they are good recruits.

Someone, somewhere between here and Swansea clearly haven’t done their research properly. Maybe it’s got lost in translation? The lad is a talented player and a contract IS exactly that – a legally binding document. Now call me stupid but don’t lawyers ever get involved in transfer dealings? YES! They want their slice of the action as much as an agent does and I’m sure there are plenty legal eagles fluttering around the swans and magpies right now! We’ll soon see who did know their beans won’t we?!
