News today that it is increasingly unlikely that Swansea City’s Neil Taylor will be able to join Newcastle before next Monday, when pre-season training starts for next season.
Neil Taylor – bring kept by Swansea
Taylor is represented by his agent Jamie Moralee – and of course Neil was just delighted when Newcastle came after him a few weeks ago.
So not only are Swansea not seemingly honoring the lad’s contract, which is said to have a release clause in it for £1M – but they are also preventing the youngster from taking up a massive opportunity on Tyneside.
And sources in Wales have confirmed that Newcastle will have to increase their offer if they still want Taylor.
But surely Newcastle should follow the legal route on this, and if Neil has that release clause in his contract, then there’s absolutely nothing Swansea can do about it.
Just like Blackburn could do nothing about Phil Jones £16.5M release clause, when the Red Devils came a calling after they had found out about the release clause, probably the information was revealed to them by his agent, who would get money form the transfer.
A Swansea insider said today:
“Swansea are going to have one unhappy young man on their hands when pre-season starts next week.
“Neil has loved his time at Swansea but the chance to join a huge club like Newcastle is a once- in-a-lifetime opportunity and he feels they are standing in his way.”
It’s very true that Neil will be anything but happy with his club, Swansea City today, for multiple reasons.
