News today in the Daily Mirror that Newcastle are continuing to monitor Bournemouth teenager Danny Ings.
Danny Ings – Bournemouth 18 year-old striker
The 19 year-old Winchester-born Ings made his debut for League One Bournemouth back in October of 2008, when he was just 16 years old.
And it’s not the first time Newcastle have been linked with this youngster, as there was news in January, that Newcastle could be watching the player.
Liverpool and Sunderland (who else?) are also said to also be tracking the youngster, who scored 8 goals in his first season at Dean Court.
The 5’10″ tall youngster is in the Bournemouth first team, since he returned from his loan spell at Dorchester last season, and he currently has 25 first team appearances for the club.
Ings made his Football League debut at Milton Keynes Dons in late December last year, and was on loan earlier last year at Dorchester Town, where he impressed with 7 goals in 13 starts for the Dorset club.
Danny looks like a good young player coming through the ranks down south.
The news is that Liverpool have been watching Ings regularly, and West Ham also had an interest – at least in January.
Newcastle are always on the look-out for good young players coming through, who they can then bring to Tyneside, and coach them and hopefully get the their full potential out of them at Newcastle.
