Newcastle Interested In Young Bournemouth Striker

News today in the Daily Mirror that Newcastle are continuing to monitor Bournemouth teenager Danny Ings.

Danny Ings – Bournemouth 18 year-old striker

The 19 year-old Winchester-born Ings made his debut for League One Bournemouth back in October of 2008, when he was just 16 years old.

And it’s not the first time Newcastle have been linked with this youngster, as there was news in January, that Newcastle could  be watching the player.

Liverpool and Sunderland (who else?) are also said to also be tracking the youngster, who scored 8 goals in his first season at Dean Court.

The 5’10″ tall youngster is in the Bournemouth first team, since he returned from his loan spell at Dorchester last season, and he currently has 25 first team appearances for the club.

Ings made his Football League debut at Milton Keynes Dons in late December last year, and was on loan earlier last year at Dorchester Town, where he impressed with 7 goals in 13 starts for the Dorset club.

Danny looks like a good young player coming through the ranks down south.

The news is that Liverpool have been watching Ings regularly, and West Ham also had an interest – at least in January.

Newcastle are always on the look-out for good young players coming through, who they can then bring to Tyneside, and coach them and hopefully get the their full potential out of them at Newcastle.

Sign him up, would be cheaper than Wickham, that’s for sure…

Also, i’m happy to see us trying to get youngsters in, but would rather we minimised the fees paid for them (Connor Wickham!) just incase they turn out like Tozer, as just one example.

Had enough of papers thinking every player anyone is linked with OTHER clubs are in for him too, and its always Liverpool and the Unwashed.

If he is a cheap and fine with a backup role, which he should be they why not.

rknufc if you know someone inside the club then yeah but if not then you just have to wait at the gate and the players give you autographs as they leave.

I saw alan pardew trying to buy a bottle of brown the other day, it took him ages as he had to fight off interest from sunderland and liverpool first.

@tweaked – I’m pretty sure they do know that. Were you expecting every deal to be done the day after the season finished?

Have abit of patience, not many teams have made much movement yet.

To be honest, I can’t see much movement in regards to Sturridge until Chelsea sign the strikers they are after.

Most deals hinge on other deals.

We will be monitoring loads of players, but their clubs will not release them till they have a replacement lined up.

Not everything is the same as FIFA or Champo!

Pretty sure the guys in charge have their targets for the summer and will bring guys in.
For that reason I’ve stopped reading the papers and twatter rumours now.
As for us spending £35M in the summer, I don’t really care as long as we sign guys who give 100% on the pitch.

Doubt we’re in for Bentley, didnt we reject him in january due to him wanting a clause in his contract that he MUST play every game? Also he is on a lot of wages at Spurs so thats another reason.

    Sturridge Update:

“The Chronicle understands Sturridge is not in Alan Pardew’s sights – despite speculation linking the Magpies with a swoop for the Chelsea ace.

Sturridge is available for loan or sale at bids starting from £6m from Andre Villa-Boas’ new side.

Instead, though, United will turn their attentions elsewhere as they try to nail a permanent attacking player with the pre-season fixture list edging ever closer.”

    Guess i was wrong.
Thought Ashley had given up on the youth system and switched to proven young talent, not unlike the French guys we just signed.
But here he is still rummaging in the bargain bin for that future star, buy cheap sell high.
Being we only developed one (N’Zogbia) youngster, with possibly another in Ferguson, in the last few years, well maybe Krull could be included, is it a viable system?
Instead of having a bunch of youth teams, would it not be better to loan out our youngsters to the lower divisions and like say a Lua lua, see how they develope

    What about Carroll? Taylor? Ranger?
To a lesser extent Ramage and Huntington (both made first team appearances and sold at a price).
