Reports That Erdinc Will Not Be Coming To Newcastle

News in the Newcastle Journal today that the Magpies are now likely to be unsuccessful in their attempts to bring Mevlut Erdinc to Tyneside.

Mevlut Erdinc – may not be arriving on Tyneside

When Newcastle lost out to PSG for top target Kevin Gameiro, they moved quickly for Erdinc, who presumably will lose his place to Gameiro at PSG next season.

PSG are now said to be making a move for top young play-maker Eden Hazard of Lille, and you ask how can they afford such a top young player?

It turns out the Paris club have had rather a large infusion of money from Qatar, and they seem willing to spend big this summer, as demonstrated by their signing of Gameiro, who probably cost £10M.

PSG announced in late May that Qatari investors had bought a controlling 70% stake in the Paris club, ending months of speculation about who the Ligue 1 club’s new owners would be – so obviously they have big money to spend this summer.

That’s what Newcastle need – a Billionaire owner – oh I almost forgot – we already have one. Oh well.

PSG are reported to have offered Erdinc in part exchange for Hazard, with cash thrown into the deal.

And the French press are reporting today that  PSG have offered as much as £27M plus Erdinc for Eden Hazard – who do PSG think they think they are – Manchester City?

That’s a fantastic offer, and whereas Lille have said they want to keep their young Belgian International, that’s a lot of money to turn down.

If PSG have that kind of money to throw around, they could very quickly become a top club in Europe, which we’re sure that’s just exactly what the new owners want to see.

The last we heard on Erdinc was that Newcastle had increased their bid to £6.5M, but if this development is true,  it doesn’t look too good for Newcastle, and the club may miss out on their second striker target in France.

Newcastle may now have to look elsewhere, but that may not be too bad – and we wonder how far down the list young Daniel Sturridge is?

😀

I worry for our next Striker signing if we’ve pulled out of a bid for Sturridge and Erding goes as part of the Hazard deal. We gonna go back in for Shane Long?

Another season of mediocrity awaits in that case.

The chronicle know nowt anymore. I think we would be mad not to be in for sturridge. Does Pardew not have good ties with Chelsea? Every team in the country who could afford this lad should be in there if Chelsea are stupid enough to sell

I think the report yesterday saying we were not interested may have been a smoke screen.

We seem to do our business in a cloak and dagger style nowadays.

Good news! A PSG outcast; surely there are better players out there. BUT who knows – maybe we never were that seriously about him; could be a smokescreen so we could get of main target.

    Who ever that is…

NUFC should just offer that 10 million and get erdinc here! We will probably end up with someone like Carlton if we are just wheeling and dealing…

By the way, I don’t believe in those Sturridge rumours..

Sign and Nzog and Sturridge and i’d be more than happy to sit back, without comment, and let them conduct their business with the rest of the squad how they see fit.
I’d be over the moon with those two, and placed with the signings we’ve already made you’d be able to see a clear picture of the attack minded team Pardew wants to create.
Lets hope im not setting my hopes too high…

Of the signings so far I think only Ba was speculated in the press wii the club keeping all cards close to their chest until the deal is done. We most definitely need a bigger squad to compete at the right end of the table so expect the clubs overall wage bill to go up despite losing some of our top earners because we need two players to compete for every position wii starting places earned on form. Also speculating on what team we will be playing and in what formation is futile and childish until preseason is done and the squad complete!

I’m worried about this transfer window as the ones that we have targeted and put high in our priority list, are facing competitions from clubs that are playing in europe. have we got our targets and priority wrong? have to wait and see….

What the f is going on?! At the risk of getting my head bitten off by all the pro-Ashley types, I think it’s simply because he isn’t willing more than £5million on any single player. The reason that we aren’t going after Sturridge was said to be because we have other (ie cheaper not better) targets. That is all well and good, but we will NEVER break into the top six following that policy, there are only so many Tiote-esque players going for cheap and sometimes we have to break the bank. As much as I want them to succeed we don’t know whether the likes of Cabaye, Marveuax and (to certain extent) Ben Arfa will do it in the prem.
As much as everyone slags off the transfer policy of Shpeherd/Hall we signed great players like Shearer, Ferdinand and Woodgate for (at the time) massive money, and as a result finish in the top four on a number of occasions, that will never happen under Ashley! Sometime you need to break the bank to get top top players!
Oh and where has the f***g £35 million gone!

@ilovetoon – You’re worried because we’re after european competition quality players?

I think its awesome myself! Yeah we arent going to get them all, or many of them. But one or two would be class.

Plus if our top priorities are such good players theres probably a fair few more targets before we start trawling for sh1te.

i know its sometimes fun to read the stories and press talk on here but as someone just mentioned the press know absolutely naff all. i fully expect we are doing everything we can to get sturridge as he is the EXACT player we need. scores goals, young, will improve, will have massive sell on value and is english. not many top clubs seem to be interested so we have a good chance of getting him as well. if pardew isnt interested then he really has no idea what hes doing… or it could be that ashley really is a tight b@st@rd n has no intention of investing heavily in the squad.

im sure there’ll be 1 or 2 much bigger better clubs than PSG in for Hazard, its not as though this is a done deal. I would actually be suprised if he went to PSG.

@Nick – it isnt proven we’re after any of them until they’re signed. If you look at the players signed so far they’re quality.

If we keep signing players of that quality I’d be happy. I’d be even happier with Zoggy and Sturridge like lol.

Sure if we get Sturridge for £10m that woul be good value, but we won’t Chelsea will want £20m.

Why do people insist on mentioned Carlton Cole all the time. Im sure the club already released a statement saying ‘We wouldnt have spent all season scouting europe to end up signing players such as Carlton Cole’.
