Demba Ba Can Score The Goals For Newcastle

Alan Pardew has talked today about Newcastle’s new striker signing Demba Ba.

Demba Ba – can score the goals for Newcastle

New signing Demba Ba. a free agent,  could be an exciting player for Newcastle fans, and when we watched him play for West Ham this year, he certainly looked very good, and deadly in front of goal with both his head and feet.

Pardew is still hoping to sign another striker before the transfer window closes, but it appears we may have lost out on PSG Turkish striker Mevlüt Erdinç, who may move in PSG’s efforts to sign Lille’s Eden Hazard.

That would see Erdinc move to French Champions Lille as part of the deal with PSG also paying around £26M.

We recently opened  a poll on whether Newcastle should sign Daniel Sturridge form Chelsea for around £10M, and so far 93% think Newcastle should do just that.

That compares with only 23% who think signing Darron Gibson for £5M from the Red Devils would be a good deal.

The Magpies need some striking power for next season, because Newcastle’s top two scorers last season, with 23 goals between them – Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll – have been sold to other clubs for around £40M in total.

The 26-year-old Demba Ba has always scored goals, and he has a record of almost one goal for every two first team appearances so far in his career, and that’s a record that top goalscorers have.

But of course Demba Ba also has a history of knee problems, so we’ll have to see how many games he can play, but the knee was no problem at all at West Ham.

We also know a certain Shola Ameobi will not make more than around 20 appearances next season, because of his poor injury record.

Pardew talked about Demba Ba to the club’s official website:

“Ba is an out-and-out goalscorer, a winner and will certainly give everything he’s got. I expect him to get between 15 and 25 goals this year.”

Newcastle need somebody to start banging in those goals in with Nolan and Carroll, two of Newcastle’s best players, having moved away from Newcastle.

We think Demba Ba could be an excellent singing for Newcastle, and he can certainly score the goals, so let’s hope the lad can stay fit.

What do you think?

I think Le Pardue was misquoted… It should have read “Ba will get 1-2 goals next season and we will still sign 15-25 players”… (from twatter).

I don’t think there’s any doubt he will score goals, just need to keep him injury free. Good signing by the club.

25 would be tremendous, Massive call though. Does anyone think that peter lovenkrands might be a better player for us this season? now that we have some new players that can thread a pass. Because he was not suited to our game last season with most of our goals coming from headers and knock downs. Just a thought

Ba can score, no doubt. 15-25? I’d be happy with 15, if he scores 25 we’ll be challenging for silverware 😉

Still, he needs a partner. I don’t want to see Shola or Lovenkrands up front next season, even Carlton Cole than those two. It’s a pity we lost out on Gamerio, he is mint!

Mr Toon – I think you are right. Everytime I have PL he seams a very inteligent player. Lately I like the signings NUFC have made because we are moving away from the typical kick and rush footy (which is increased with fans axioties at home) to a more calm, intelegent and focus playing. With AFC being our first game it will be interesting to see how we can play.

BMB – Nice to see they’ve added fourth place to the podium.

I’d like to think Ba will prove to be a very sound capture, but, as with all transfer dealings, we’ll have to wait and see.

Ed I don’t know why you put the figure of 10mill for sturridge with the likes of henderson going for 20mill it wouldn’t suprise me if sturridge left for a fee close to that I would say 15 million would be a cracking deal. And. If he didn’t play for chelsea say the unwashed for example he would be there star player and I believe he would go for a fee close to 25mill but because it is chelsea he hasn’t seen much football so people believe they can take him for a small fee brilliant player worth atleast 15 imo would love to get him for 10 but it aint happening chelsea aren’t stupid :/

I work with a mixture of Sunderland and Newcastle fans. The Sunderland fans are loving it at the moment, with their recent signings. They seem to think they will sign inzogbia, not us. We must get a few more quality signings in and soon. Got some stick for being pipped at the post last season, want to see us get off to a good start, 5 – 0 would be a good start. After the arsenal game.

Considering Ba got 7 in 13 for a sh1te West Ham team, aslong as he stays fit for most of the season he’ll easily get between 20-25 goals next season with HBA, Cabaye, Jonas, Barton…maybe Zoggy, providing the deliveries.

I say if he scores more than 25(not an easy task I know) he should get the number 9 shirt the season after.

No doubt he can score goals. But we would be silly to rely on one player to get the goals, we saw what happened when we lost Carroll without any decent replacements.

Who have sunderland got? a relegated Seb Larrson and Craig Gardner, a lower league keeper in Westwood, an overhyped championship striker in Wickham and a completely untested korean or whoever he is. All for a decent chunk of money.

Who did we get so far? Cabaye, french league champion and for very cheap, Ba, should’ve been around £10m, got him for nowt, Marvueax, relegated, may be injury prone, but a talent nonetheless and a promising youngster in Abied.

I know who I’d be happier with so far and its definately not the unwashed.

still don’t think he’s going to be our number 1 striker next season! From a marketing aspect, it benefits the club to have a number 9 marquee centre piece, I still think we’ll bring someone in! I’d imagine Neil Taylor is virtually a done deal, after that i can see 10m being spent on a striker, perhaps 9m on N’zogbia and at an educated guess Reo-Coker on a free. Bring our net spend to around 20million ish, doubt any of us where expecting more than that!

Think he will lead the line well. Stong, bit of pace, handy finisher, quite good in the air, sounds good. Like a better version of Leon Best really. Ba with Ben Arfa playing off him sounds good to me. Still think we need a new centre back leader. Coloccini and Taylor together has been tried and tested and failed. Like them both but they dont seem to play well together. Especially if we are planning for Top 8.

my mates a physio at capbreton in France and he worked with Ba on his knee rehab and said hes a truly committed pro and an incredible signing for FREE ive been askin all the lads i play footy with what they think of all our signings and theyve been telling me that Marveaux is an absolutely cracking player very creative + the lads that support Lille were gutted that Cabaye left and so cheap too so far so good but we need 3 more minimum without losing anyone if we get em in before Jose leaves he might just stay (perennial Optimist)

Some people really need to calm down.

Our transfer dealings so far have been very good(especially when you consider how slow we usually are in the transfer market), just look at Cabaye signing for a paltry 4.5 Million whilst our rivals are wasting 6 million on a rather average midfielder in Gardner.

I dunno, I like to think (hope) that this is the season where we’re more financially stable so MA will make a push forward with us now, so yeah go as high as £15m for Sturridge.

The past few years since MA has been in charge though suggests that might not happen haha!

    Mag-for-life – No real signings?!?

We have a french league and cup winner, a striker that cost £7m just a few months ago, a £6m-£7m rated winger in Marveaux and a promising youngster in Abeid.

Which of these aren’t real signings?

You do realise if we had to pay the true values of each player it’d be around £10m for Cabaye, £10m for Ba, £6m for Marveuax and £2m-£3m for Abeid. So thats around £29m worth of players that we’ve signed for no more than £7.5m when you take into account signing on fees and agent fees.

Then you take off the £4.5m for Nolan and we’ve spent around £3m on £29m worth of talent.

Yeah, no real signings no I come to think of it like.

It isnt impossible CLOIN. 7 in 13 for West Ham last season and who was providing the deliveries there? Next season he’ll be playing behind some class midfielders and getting much better service. Aslong as he stays fit its possible.
