Are Newcastle After Wayne Bridge?

There’s a story that Newcastle want Manchester City’s Wayne Bridge.

Wayne Bridge – are Newcastle interested

We find that really hard to believe, but the story is nevertheless in The Sun today.

There are at least a couple of good reasons that go against this potential deal.

One is that Wayne is already 30 years old, and doesn’t fit with Newcastle wanting to bring in players around 25 or less, so they have sell-on value.

And Wayne is also on huge wages of around £80K/week at the Eastlands club.

City are said to be close to brokering a £7M deal for Arsenal’s Gael Clichy, and Newcastle’s Jose Enrique could be going to Arsenal, although there is news today that Arsenal may also be after Everton left-back Leighton Baines.

We’re sure Newcastle have another left=back lined up to bring in,  should Jose decide to leave the Tyneside club this summer, but we’d be very surprised if it’s Wayne Bridge.

What do you think?

Total non-story, MA wouldnt sign him as he’s too old, and he certainly wouldnt pay the wages he’d want.

Wow this site is becoming more and more like the journal every day. Rehashing the same old stories that are complete BS. Never going to happen.

FootballShirtsUnited – Do you have to post that on every single thread? Anyone who’s going to buy a shirt from that link will have by now.

I know a great way to get people to not read your comment. Start it off with “Cwarr reckons”

Sun guessing games, clichy moves, Enrique replaces him and which left back could move, let’s guess at bridge. Crap columnists who have no info, but just guess.

Every single member of the NUFC coaching/management staff has repeated about a gazillion times that we are only looking at players that are below 25 years of age and still the journos bother to print cr@p like this? Retards.

  • Take it we won’t be getting an away strip this season. Since Gervinho won’t be here to unveil it.

@WWJBD – bang on there like. I think people just like to believe stories linking our players away because it backs up their misguided view that all MA wants to do is sell off our first team.

  • roshan MAGPIE, I’m telling you man they’ve been cancelled. They’re being redesigned for out next big signing.

  • CLOIN, (exhausted exhaling of breath) Ferguson is a Left winger. Not a left back!

lads to do u reckon to this idea loan ranger n airey out for a season long loan then leaving us ba, shola, lovenkrands, best, hba and erding/sturridge as striker options then next season let lovenkrands n shola leave on frees as i think there contracts r up n promote airey n ranger in there place

  • WWJBD, he can cover as a LB. But his natural position is?
