Big Chance For Newcastle Youngsters Next Season

As well as Newcastle bringing in new players this summer, Newcastle fans will be hoping that one or two Newcastle youngsters will come through next season.

Haris Vuckic – can this lad come through next season?

Of course 19 year-old Shane Ferguson was just great this year, when came on to deputize for the injured Jose Enrique, and Ferguson was Man of the Match on at least two occasions for Newcastle last season.

The Irishman showed he’s not only very skillful, but hardly ever gives the ball away, and the boyish looking player looks to be a tremendous future prospect for the Magpies.

Newcastle have other top youngsters who could come through next season, and they include Slovenian U21 International Haris Vuckic, once capped Hungarian International Tamas Kadar, James Tavernier and Sammy Ameobi, Shola’s younger brother, as the most likely to shine next season, along with Shane Ferguson of course.

Alan Pardew knows part of his job is to bring through the Newcastle youngsters, and he is likely to send quite a few of them out on loan next season, as he wants them to play regularly, but exactly who they will turn out to be, we don’t know at this point.

Alan Pardew talked about the youngsters today:

“It’s massive for them. They’ve got to make a breakthrough if not this year then the following season.”

“They’ve positioned themselves well and the pre-season will be important for them to knock on the door, and we’ll see what happens.”

The Youth system at Newcastle seems to be working quite well, and we still expect some top youngsters to be brought to Tyneside.

They will join top French U18 International midfielder, Mehdi Abeid, who has already arrived this season, as a free agent from Lens.

Who do you think could come through big time next season, among the youngsters?

Swansea in for Jonathan Soriano for less than £1 million. Surely this would be a worthwhile target for us? 32 goals in 36 appearances for Barca B team. Low risk because of fee, would happily have him as a replacement for someone like Lovenkrands or Ameobi

Yea Ashley can just use the 35million for undersoil heating, opening a ice cream stall outside st james or or a new pub or just gamble it away.

let’s fill our bench with kids next season. way to go.

Me personally would love to see Haris Vuckic get a run of games in the squad, the lad is sheer class. The thing with Newcastle whenever we give a younger lad a game we never give them a proper run of games, Nile Ranger for example, although he did show potential when he did play for us, it was as if he never had the confidence when on the ball and flapped when some pretty easy chances came for him, in my opinion this is because he didn’t have a run of games to give him confidence. The point at which we should haver game him that run of games came at home to Coventry in the Championship, he notched his first goal (I was there!) and played superb, from that point we should have started him in the next 6 or so games to let him breed off that confidence from the goal buuuuuutttt we didn’t :\ I still feel that Vuckic though would need to appear as a sub from half time or something for a few games when we are in the lead of course so there not too much pressure and I think he will kick on and shine!

I’ve not seen the guy play, but he’s earned a call up to the Mexico squad for the Copa America this year. Someone must rate him quite highly?

Just been looking into Soriano. He’s had a great season for Barca B. But looking at his past, he’s had a chance playing for Espanyol at the top level and only managed 3 goals from 49 appearances (30 were as a sub) so lets not get too disheartened

Good to hear that the youngsters will get an opportunity, I’d rather see a young upcoming player on the bench than the likes of smith.

just read an interview with loverpants on a danish web page…he says he hopes he can get another contract with newcastle as his family is very settled here and just love the place. funny is though he states that it dosnt really matter what wages he would be offered as he claims he has earned the money he needs and now just wants to enjoy his football.
he also claims that despite his age he is one of the fittest and that pardew likes him.
probably not our new #9 but very refreshing to hear someone actually wants to play for us and with no greed,,,,,…

I agree with what Harry has said about Haris. This lad has got quality in all aspects of the game. Last season did him no favours with injury blighting it. For me the biggest question is how much does he WANT to make a first team berth his regularly? It is the drive, commitment and will to do everything right as a professional player that will largely determine this. He does need regular first team football IF he is to kick on with his career. I hope that IF Pardew and the coaching staff don’t feel he’s going to make the 1st team regularly and play 70-80% of the games (initially from the bench); then he needs to go out on loan to a Championship club that play him week in, week out – initially for 6 months. Leeds?

The Premier Reserve League is what are reserves play in and it was won last year by Blackburn Rovers. So on paper it would suggest that they have some good youth players coming through. Our reserves finished fourth. Now Blackburn Rovers, a far smaller and weaker team than ours never resorted to starting a single one of these youthsin the prem yet us a much bigger side with better players now may have to resort to using our youth cause our owner refuses to spend money earned by outgoing transfers. And yet some of you’s lot encourage it…

You think any team uses their youth players ever! They just buy players like any normal team.

Never said screw the youth just that their meant to be eased into first team proceedings slowly. They can not be expected to walk in and perform at the senior level week in week out unless they are of the very highest order. Some of you say give Airey #9, he can’t even make the bench and you’d like to put him under that immense pressure? What we did with Ferguson last year was smart but to think that we could start 4 or 5 of these players in a league match next year would be daft. Most would get found out and it could take months to get their confidence back. We have the funds so we should bring in some quality players and if they don’t perform or become injured then we can ease in a few of our youngsters.

Seems Pardew agrees with you….no one said they woult be starting 11 or even subs all this article says is that they will be given a chance to impress and see if they can be in a position to step up.

No where does it mention or imply that we wont be buying players because we are going to use the youth players instead. You brought that point up so you could slag off MA again

WWJBD-Your basing your argument on what Pardew said. He also said we’d bring in 1 more player MAYBE 2. Therefore with an already thin squad, any number of injuries will result in these youths being forced into the first team. Would you be happy if we sign only 2 players cause we all knew we’ll sell off at least 2 ourselves???

A interview on transfers and a interview on youth team can not be compared on reliability howay NUFC have no reason to lie about offering youth team oppertunities whereas they have a good reason to lie about transfer issues.

And we dont know how many we will sell off or how many we will bring in.

All this article is about is Pardew saying youth team players will get a chance to impress him yet yoou have turned it into a attack on the management AGAIN

Anyway am off to have a meal and a few drinks while watching Haye hammering some Ukrainian so am not bothered anymore 🙂 Have another fun night arguing the same point lads

The reason this argument is a reoccuring theme is because no one has been proven right or wrong and until then you can expect to hear more of the same. That being said, should be a good fight tonight just hope Haye can get close enough to hurt him.
