PSG Decision On Erdinc Could Come Later This Week

The news that Newcastle have put in a €7.5M offer for Paris Saint-Germain striker Mevlut Erding, seems to be gaining some momentum.

Mevlut Erdinc – on his way to Newcastle?

Radio station RMC is now reporting this news, although the 7.5M is in euros, which converts to around £6.7M.

Newcastle have been interested in the Turkish striker for several weeks now, and the news is that Erdinc is keen to play in the Premier League, and is thought to be keen to move to Newcastle United.

However, all of PSG’s transfer decisions will now be held up until Leonardo, who managed Inter Milan last season, is officially appointed as the new Paris Saint Germaine Sporting Director, and that is expected to happen this coming  Wednesday.

So at the very earliest, we could hear something later this week, but we are still hoping that Newcastle can get Erdinc through the door, possibly before the end of the coming week.

Erdinc has played 70 times for PSG with 28 goals scored since he signed a four year deal for the Paris-based club in June of 2009, and previously played 84 times at Sochaux with 25 goals.

The 10 times capped Turkish International striker, has a club record of scoring one goal in every 3 games played.

We think Erdinc, who is a very skilful forward, would be a very good signing for the Magpies.

What do you think?

We have to sign Erding, exactly the kind of striker we need, quick, has a bit of skill about him but more importantly plays of the shoulder and is a good finisher, perfect for Ba’s flick-ons and Benny’s through balls.

Need to add Abeid to the signings in. Hopefully this will be accepted as if we were to get him for this kinda money it’d be good. Considering WH want about the same for Carlton Cole and Brum want the same for Jerome. Both players who have proved they can’t hack the prem. Leanardo have a heart let him join the toon!

Apparently erding and newcastle have agreed terms and the only thing stopping it is psg are waiting for leonardo, agreed tom_toon exactly the kind of striker we need quick and skillful with an eye for goal, very good prices aswel considering what he would cost if he was english. Much rather buy from abroad than be ripped off paying for english players, how well have english players done at recent international tournements? Over priced and over hyped.

Does that mean he’s agreed a deal to join us then? I hear he’s quick, skilful, with an eye for goal!! Compared to English players, who are over-priced as well as over-hyped, he appears to be good value for money? Or a meringue??

Hope we get Erdinc, he seems to want to join us, unlike Gervinho and Gameiro.

    Canales would be fantastic.

Only problem with Canales is we’d only get him if he was to play and be first choice. I’ve not seen him play but it doesn’t sit right with me loaning and training another clubs player up when we have money to buy a winger like Zog for about £9m. Not like we’re short on it atm. Would be a great squad player but i hope he doesn’t come as number 1

Canalea is a quality player and the more the merrier, but i do get what you mean, if we get zoggy in then we have plenty of attacking midfielders so whats the point of loaning, especially as we wont have any chance of signing him permanently.

i think this lad is good but he’s not a proven goalscorer and i think that’s what we need, if ba gets injured then we’ll be stuck with strikers’s that aren’t proven goalscorers.

Canales is far from the finished article, but he is incredibly exciting. If nothing else, getting him on loan would raise our profile and send a huge message to the rest of the league.

I think he would start, though I think it would probably end our interest in N’Zogbia unfortunately.

We need a quick striker, aint seen this guy but we’ve been linked long enough club must know something about him, probably be playing a lot of 4-5-1 away from home with strong attacking midfielders so he’ll probably be an impact sub but at home him and ba will probably be regulars, midfield forward looking pretty strong if these guys live up to the hype

i hope we sign mevlut erdinc. From what we have as our strikers right now i would instantly want anybody that can finish. lovenkrands and ameobi are just not the main 2 strikers for any team. Last season they were strikers #1 and #2. Best was injured. This season hopefully #1 Ba, #2 Erdinc, #3 Best, #4 Ranger, #5 Ameobi, #6 Lovenkrands. Mevlut Erdinc would be great signing 7 million should be enough!

His goalscoring record doesn’t really do himself justice to be fair, he’s a very good player, scored 15 in 31 in his first season with PSG, so he’s definitely got the quality. Would be a very good signing for Newcastle.
