Joey Barton Frustrated At Newcastle

As well as Jose Enrique,  another top player who could leave the club this summer is of course Joey Barton.

Joey Barton – wants Newcastle to do better

Joey was even put up for sale for £4M a few days ago, but only last night Alan Pardew said he still had hopes that Joey will eventually sign a new contract and stay on Tyneside. We hope so too.

But it also seems that Joey has been frustrated with the results Newcastle have achieved since December, and this is what manager Alan Pardew said today:

“Joey sometimes has an opinion that can change,” “I think the most important thing for Joey is that he can see the squad’s got real quality in it.”

“A few times last year he came to see me frustrated we weren’t getting the results in terms of the performances he was putting in, and I had to agree with some of that.”

It’s a delicate situation right now with Joey Barton, as it is with Jose Enrique, and the probability seems still that both will have moved on come September.

Indeed, if we are to believe the news this week, Liverpool may be very close to bidding for Enrique, since the news is that Arsenal may also now be looking at Jose too.

That would be as a replacement for their departed French International left-back Gail Clichy, who signed on at Manchester City only yesterday in a £7M deal.

Losing Enrique and Barton this summer would hardly be good for Newcastle, and would mean that Nolan, Enrique and Barton would all have left Newcastle this summer – three of the side’s very best players last season.

We have to hope that doesn’t happen, but if it does then it cannot be good for the side, surely.

Stop with this Barton and Enrique stuff… Barton reject new contract in january, now he said how badly want extension… what the F he was thinking in january? Enrique and his agent didn’t say anything… Let them both go, we can get much better of these two muppets.

Every time he talks about Joey he talks like their is a contract on the table and as though its all down to Joey to decide.

Good on Joey knocking on the managers door! That takes some balls and we need that in the team.

Davytoon – Not getting ahead of Cabaye. Have you ever seen Cabaye play in France let alone the EPL???

And we currently have nothing of any quality on the RW.

Joey is a knob. Fact. But he can play football and spur a team on. We are lacking in that department. Really lacking after Nolan left.

I want Joey to stay because he wants and demands results. That we pass onto the French lads and I hope make us a better unit. If we lose our balls in the team then we have a French team – all quality but no passion for a fight.

i dont remember either saying they dont want to be here i think they just want some indication as to the clubs ambition not a penny has been spent yet so you can understand their frustration to a point.

Exactly boom, what does it say to the players when in January we sell our top scorer then once again in the summer we sell our new top scorer. Score goals and you will be….. Sold?

we need more players like joey, putting 100% in to every game and knocking on the managers door frustrated that we weren’t winning enough games.

I’m not sure we’ll need Joey B so much this season. I think he’s wasted on the right side and he won’t click with Ben Arfa through the middle as much as Cabaye might. He could also be a bad influence on the side if he’s sitting on the bench because he seems to think he’s the best player in the prem or something. I wouldn’t be bothered if his sold for 3-4 mil and we go out and sign a right winger.

I’d still be happy for Barton to go. Can’t seem to kep his gob shut for two minutes. It’d be fine if he were some sort of example and didn’t keep blowing his trumpet all over the place, but one year of reform and good football doesn’t make up for everything that came before.

Sure, we could do with fighting spirit on the pitch, but how do we know we haven’t got that in any of the new signings, or any of the lads that weren’t able to play last season?

He hedged his bets in January and now he’s not getting what he wants. Time to whinge on Twitter about it. Poor little Joey. Boo hoo.

The guy’s priceless, doesn’t play for 3 years on 65K a week and yet still wants to call all the shots. I think Ashley has had amazing patience. Would love to see his wages go on, in his words, a younger, better player without the baggage.

That’s a myth. barton never tracks back to cover Simpson like Jonas does for Enrique.
