Newcastle Decision On Mevlut Erdinc Tomorrow?

The Daily Mail is reporting today that Newcastle could find out tomorrow, if their increased £7M bid for Paris St Germain striker Mevlut Erdinc is successful.

Mevlut Erdinc – Newcastle player soon?

That’s certainly consistent with the earlier news, that Newcastle had increased their bid for the Turkish International, and that PSG’s transfer decisions will be held up until Brazilian Leonardo, who managed Internationale  last season, is officially appointed as the new Paris Saint Germaine Sporting Director tomorrow.

Newcastle have been after Erdinc ever since they couldn’t complete the transfer of £10M French striker Kevin Gameiro, who elected to stay in France and play for PSG, who have a had a big money injection from their new Qatar-based owners.

There was some news that Erdinc may want to play in Turkey, but other news says he is keen to test himself in the top English Premier League, and would jump at the chance of joining Newcastle.

We’ll have to hope the latter is true.

Alan Pardew is welcoming the Newcastle squad back this week, as various players will report in during the first few days,.

Newcastle will start their tour of America in a couple of weeks time, and it would be good to get Erdinc in this week.

Newcastle have already brought in Frenchmen Sylvain Marveaux, 18 year-old Mehdi Abeid and Yohan Cabaye and Demba Ba and have let Kevin Nolan, Sol Campbell and Shefki Kuqi leave the club.

Former winger Charles N’Zogbia and Swansea’s Neil Taylor are other players Newcastle seem to be after in the transfer market.

The Sooner Ashley sells the better.

Cabaye 4.5 million around 40k wages
    Nolan 4.5 million around 50 k wages.
We are probably up around 10 k on wages in that deal

    Ba 50k a week tops
    Marveauk 60 k a week tops

Sell perch sell xisco sell smith
    save 130 k wages

that means we have payed 110 k back for wages for new players and saved 20 k from players going out

so that means we are 30 k up already on wages

so it amuses me when pardew said last night that we have spent a large chunk on our free transfers

    RUBBISH

if signing on fees cost alot then i wud imagine that it be around 5 million for the 3 of them tops not anymore

so if thats the case deduct 5 million from our 35 transfer budget

thats 30 million and its so obvious that enrique will be sold for 6 million so that means its 36 million

then just at the end of the transfer market we buy taylor and win the court battle and sign him up from swansea for 1 million

and what do u know we broke even still have no 35 million spent and no money from premiership revenue whic is about 60 million

wohoo 95 million ashley has now

    while newcastle fans get nothing

i could be totally wrong lads but what i said sounds so obvious

the thing that worries me the most is when pardew said that we might bring in 2 players or maybe 1

unless the 1 player is worth 35 million which is 100 percent doubtful then newcastle fans have yet again become mugs to ashley

    he never can be trusted

    im disapointed

i really wanted ta c zogiba again in a black and white shirt he has matured alot and has improved so much as a player

    Ben Arfa,

You know contracts do actually mean something. They can only be cancelled if BOTH parties want it cancelled. Kevin Nolan was not just sold without his consent. He agreed to go. So did Carroll. So why would anyone buy Smith and Xisco? who would match their wages? No one. They will not leave without us paying them to go.

looks like keegan was right we wont see a penny of the carrol money spent i have never in my life heard of a club stating that the money for a players contract is included in transfer budget our fans ticket money and the sky money where is that , it seems mike sees the club as his own little cash cow. if we dont see the carrol money spent on players then in my opinion its plain and simple ashley is nothing but a lying C**T.

For crying out loud the transfer window has been officially open for a few days.

I wish the scare mongerers would stop whinging and have a little patience.

We have already done much more business than we normally do and potentially (we will not know for certain until we see the new signings in the Premiership) have made some astute and great value for money signings.

Have you got such short memeories that you forget the Shepherd way of signing ageing journeymen with a big name looking for a pay day. In my view we are signing young hungry players who want to make a name for themselves in the world’s greatest league. If in 3 or 4 years these players want to move on so be it at least we will have hopefully seen players busting a gut for us not just coasting through to pick up a heavy pay cheque.

If at the end of the transfer window we have not improved our squad then I will be the first to whinge, but until then show some PATIENCE.

So what if cabaye is good

we all know deep down that we got a class gem in him

would we buy him for 10 million or 15 milliion

no we wouldnt we we only buy people on the cheap

and cabaye and tiote price range doesnt come along often.

we need to spend but wisley

i dont mean i want us to spend cash on players like drogba owen and all those players waiting for there last payouts

i want hungary and young players coming in but some of those players cost around 10 million and we aint willing to do it even tho we suposdly have the cash thats the problem i have got

we aint willing to pay 9 million for the best dribbler in the premiership in zogbia.

if stoke can offer around 10 million for danns why cant we offer 9 million for zogiba..

1 or 2 players pardew says we need loads more than that.

    pardew doesnt got a clue

thats why he said enrique was 28 on the radio last night and in fact he is 25 just shows what he knows

We are a feeder club to liverpool

just like arsenal is with man city and barcelona

    we are a selling club

we are a really strange club

i never heard of a top goalscorer captain leaving a big club to go to a championship club

we are soo dam strange in how we do business we always have been

i remember when we were in the u.e.f.a cup semi final against marseille we had so many injuries and we could of bought loads that january but just ended up buying michael bridges on loan what was the point of that

and what team doesnt put a clause in a contract to say they cant play against there parent team

lua lua scored in the last minute and pretty much cost us a champions league place

as i said we are a strange team

i really dunno how us fans cope

as i said before i got no problem with bargains

like tiote 3.5 million there is no problem atall with that

but the problem i have is thats how newcastle operate they buy cheap players and hope for the best

they aint willing to pay for proven quailty

    thats the problem i got

    there taking huge risks

there cheap and newcastle shud have the finances to be on par with liverpool

how can they spend 35 million on caroll and we cant spend anything

    ya they have new owners

but mike ashley aint poor is he he is a billionare for christ sake

At risk of inviting flak, will all you members of the ‘what about the £35m’ brigade re-read the many recent blogs that have attempted to explain the finances of a football club like Newcastle United.

Are you guys thick or just so obsessed with it that you’re blind to the realites?

Is it sensible to go on like a 5 year old who’s got his pocket money and rushes out to blow it….. only to regret
    it at a later date?

Grow up for goodness sake and recognise that Ashley’s got no interest in seeing Newcastle United go belly up – if anything, he’ll be wanting to see a financially sound and reasonable successful club!

Ed and his fellow bloggers can try as they will to explain, but some folk will never see sense and continue to demand massive spending and then cry if/ when the club were to become an insolvent entity.

Yaaaawwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnn. I’m bored of hearing about this fabled £35m. I think a lot of people on here need to get over it and move on.

Wait until September 1st and se if our squad is better than last season. If it’s not by all means whip out the badly spelled bedsheets, have a protest starting in a pub you’ll be in anyway walking to a match you’ll be going to anyway and distract the team and fail to get behind them by singing songs at a fat man who couldn’t really give a toss (as he heard it all for 40+ games last season).

Oh and one more point, if you were thinking about reinvesting money into the team (That is Ashley’s to take should he wish) would you do it for fans that get on his back and moan everytime something tiny happens that is viewed as negative? Hmmm don’t think i would!!

I have noticed that recently because people disagree with you and your very forthright opinions, you tend to either call them idiots or imply they dont know anything about football. I must add, that unless you can answer Roy Croppers Question regarding Cabaye, this could potentially put your credability as an authority on all things football in doubt.

OK my next cynical insight – lets take the situation away from the emotive subject of football and replace it with the theatre…

Imagine that your local theatre was renowned for putting on top quality productions with top class actors and full houses every night. This continues for a couple of years but after the main director leaves, a couple of large flops and spiralling costs the owners put the theatre up for sale.
Along comes a shrewd business man who takes over the theatre wipes out the debts and promises to return the theatre to its past glory. After a number of half decent productions it is apparent that the actors and productions are not what they used to be and top actors cannot be tempted to play at the theatre because of the poor reputation and reviews the theatre has been receiving. Falling houses add to the problem and once again the theatre runs into financial problems – leaving the owner with a debt around his neck that he cant service as is declared bankrupt and destined to live in poverty for the rest of his life.
Ok this story has a happy ending – and the morale of the story – BUY US A STRIKER YOU TIGHT WAD
