Alan Pardew To Continue Clear-Out At Newcastle

We still expect a lot of activity in the transfer market by Newcastle this summer.

Nile Ranger – can leave Newcastle this summer

As we have already seen with captain Kevin Nolan moving out, Kevin could be followed by Jose Enrique, and even Joey Barton could be on his way before September.

Pardew will move out as many fringe players as he can, and try to keep the top players like Jose and Joey at the club.

Hopefully Newcastle can agree a transfer fee with Deportivo, so that Xisco leaves the club.

The Spanish U21 striker still has two years left on a five year deal at around £50K/week – money that Newcastle are paying out even though Xisco is nowhere near first team material on Tyneside.

20 year-old striker Nile Ranger seems to be surplus to requirements, and is on the transfer list at £1M, and a few Premier League clubs are said to be interested, including Bolton Wanderers.

And 24 year-old striker  Leon Best is also on the transfer list at around £4M, even though he scored a good 6 goals in 12 appearances for the club this year.

We’re surprised that Leon will not be given next season to prove himself at Newcastle, since he seemed to be improving this year.

A loan move for Alan Smith to his home town club Leeds United, will hopefully be arranged, but one barrier to that move is Alan’s massive £60K/week he is getting at Newcastle.

This is what Alan Pardew said last night about fringe players:

“We have a strong squad and some at the fringes will have to leave,” “They will not get to the first team.”

“I will make it clear to some to either stay and be a squad player of go elsewhere if they want to be first team players.”

Another player likely to move on is 20 year-old winger Kazenga LuaLua and Brighton look like his likely destination, and Wayne Routledge will also follow him out of the club before September.

The Newcastle squad will certainly look lot different form the one that ended the season last May.

Comments welcome.

  • If there is any truth in Best being for sale, I only think its due to the fact that he wont suit the style of footie Pardew apparantly wants to play. I cant remember Bestie making too many runs into the box.

Only players (Not including Ba) that i think could suit this style is Loven and Ranger due to their pace advantage

  • If all this is more than paper talk. Then it looks as if Pardew is making his own team. This is the season where he becomes hero or zero.

  • It will be a shame to see the likes of LuaLua leaving when we really need the likes of Smith, Xisco etc to leave to free up some wages.

Smith/Perch/Xisco – 100k a week wages there alone. I personally would keep everyone else maybe loaning out Forster and Ranger. Hopefully being in 1 more striker.

  • ~Vive la révolution de Châteauneuf~, Lovenkrands is a “I nearly” man.

  • We know Smith has been released so he is available on a free….. that means ofc he’s going to be too expensive for clubs to buy him as we all know “free’s” cost too much!

  • MacToon(Vive le Neuchâtel), who’s going to take them at there wages?

  • MacToon(Vive le Neuchâtel), Na na. Smith has been released on condition.

    Crazy to sell Ranger.

  • lol GG I know about Smith and his wage packet, it shows him up to be a money grabber who’d rather sit on the bench or not even get that close to the team, we’ve gone from not being able to sell him to not being able to give him away to actually paying to get rid. Sad really.

For all Lua Lua’s very well liked at Brighton, they’ve just signed one of Bergkamp’s nephews and Craig Mackail-Smith from Peterborough United.

In the light of that, I’d say the chances of Lua Lua moving down to the south coast are remote.

We’ll just have to wait and see though.

Xisco has been given unlucky no. 13 – they must be actually taking the mick.

and Routy with no. 53 is a bit of an insult, whether warranted or not.

  • Cheers nufc_BA, for the excuse to have another beer before I go to bed.

I can assure everyone that not a single penny of the £35 million has left the club and neither will it. It is all going back in”
I am most definitely not a Newcastle fan but this moron must think fans are as stupid as him if he thinks they cannot see through comments like that.

“The one thing I said to Mike [Ashley, the club’s owner] was, ‘Look, if this boy is going to go, this money has to be reinvested in the team, all of it’, said Pardew in February. “And he has assured me of that.

I bet that gives him a few nightmares too, are you calling your manager a liar Mr MD big shot. I am heartily sick of these idiots coming into football, knowing nothing about it and then trying to run clubs as if they were business’, Yes there must be some fiscal control but football IS a unique business.

Newcastle fans should be at this idiots door asking him to speak in plain English and not his mealy mouthed lying, cover up.

Quotes from a non newcastle fan.

GG – saw that as well mate, but I truly dont think that he will given a first team spot………

Might be wrong like and to a certain extent I would like to see what he could do in the PL especially with our new more technical/pacey team. However, I still dont think he will be given that chance and is why I think No.13 is a mick take..

the training kit numbers? That means nothing. They basically pick up whatever kit is clean, dry and in their size. Seen a picture of Lovenkrands last season training in a top with SS on and Carroll training wearing number 32 and HBA training in a top with no number on at all (spooky).

Possible if the Erding deal goes tits up as we seem to be running out of targets.

Wonder if we’ll be sponsored by LaCoste instead of Puma next season then? That would be fitting, pun intended.

So MA has officially spent more on acquiring new businesses than on transfers at Newcastle United. Personally I don’t mind as long as it makes us a better team than last season

“The one thing I said to Mike [Ashley, the club’s owner] was, ‘Look, if this boy is going to go, this money has to be reinvested in the team, all of it’, said Pardew in February. “And he has assured me of that.

I guess they hoped they’d be able to move the goalposts with the recent quotes which use the words ‘back into the club’ as opposed to ‘the team’.

For whatever reason, greed, or cutting debt, they’re trying toi spend as little as possible. I just get infuriated with all the lies. They know how difficult it is to invest in January. I dont have any quotes but im sure Pardew had said around about that time that it’s extremely difficult to get players ‘through the door’ in January as clubs dont want to lose during the season.

Now they are saying they want to hold cash back for January incase we need to invest. Its all a load of rubbish. Excuse after excuse. Lie over lie over lie.

Ive never heard so much bollocks about players who are on free transfers. Never before have i heard a club complaining that theyve had to use so much cash on someone who has signed for free.
Do they really expect us to buy that we are the most hard done by club in the English league?

All of this is a thinly veiled attempt to fill us loyal fans with hot air, believe the powers that be are doing all they can to improve us on the field, and spend as little cash as possible.

The interesting thing about MA buying into the two clothing firms is that he is willing to provide £20million to them to develop them – what has he provided to NUFC???…Seems to be willing to INVEST in these organisations?

“Sports Direct, which is majority owned by Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley, will provide a facility of up to £20m to develop the two businesses.”

Only players I’d like to see the back of is the Xisco kid, Perch, Routledge and Smith (simply as he’ll not play much and his wages can be used else where).

Think we need players such as Best (not bad goal/game ratio) Guthrie, Shola, Ranger (Maybe loan him for season to champ – this kid will come good), Raylor and Loven. These players know what it’s like to play in prem and will help to keep what’s left of the team spirit which is almost destroyed thanks to the knob jockey running the club.

And on the subject of the £35M being reinvested, please the stuff that is coming outta lambasre & pardews’ mouths is as fishy as a cheap whore. Anyone who believe’s them needs there head seeing to. All Ashley wants to do is buy cheap and sell on for as much profit as he can get his fat hands on.

    Rant over….
