Magpies Have Three Strikers Lined Up If No Erdinc Deal

It seems the Mevlut Erdinc deal is not dead in the water yet, but Newcastle will definitely bring in another striker this summer.

Alan Pardew – plenty of time left in transfer window

But Alan Pardew has also appealed for some calm from the Newcastle supporters, and there are still exactly seven full weeks left in the transfer window, from today.

Of course it’s highly unlikely any new players will come in before Newcastle leave for their American tour next Sunday, but there’s still plenty of time left in the transfer window, and newcastle could still get some good deals done.

This is Pardew said today regarding a new striker:

“We’re still confident on bringing a striker in,” “It makes me laugh when people say time is running out – the deadline isn’t until the end of August.”

“It’s obvious we’re looking to get a striker in, we’re not just paying lip service to it. We have made bids, that is in the public domain.”

“But we have to make sure it’s the right player, that is the most important thing.”

The Journal is reporting today that Newcastle do have other striker targets lined up, and they are three strikers who play in the European leagues on the continent, and all are under 28 years old.

If that’s true it means that neither Daniel Sturridge or Shane Long are Newcastle targets.

Negotiations for the three strikers with their clubs,  will be dependent on how the Erdinc deal goes, since Mevlut is still Newcastle’s first choice, and it seems his agent may be the problem.

It would be great if Newcastle can still get Erdinc on Tyneside.

Will there ever be another Shearer? It was his character, his leadership quality and his goals that attracted me to follow this club in the first place. Will there be another with his loyalty as well as the ability to score 20 plus goal even in his later years of service to the club?

hope we get that young right back from palace. infact i would be satisfied if we just got young lower league talent to go with what we have already signed. mcgugen, that palace right back, shane long, and that preston winger we were linked with. sell the shite and get in those youngsters and we’ll be moving in the right direction.

Nolan Roux would be class, also he’s supposed to have a relatively cheap release clause in his contract and we all know MA likes a bargain. Never heard us linked with him though and apparently Liverpool are looking to sign him.

  • Defoe seriously?

He had enough starts last season and scored only a handful of goals!. On top of that his wage demands are probably high, and knowing dirty arry his price will be High.

a big fat NO. for defoe.

Loic Remy is the kind of player we are looking at as is Erdinc.

    Look at Gervinho…

Pacey, tricky winger that cay be deployed as a forward?

Right sided player in a 4-5-1 to provide ammo for BA/play as a second striker as a 4-4-2.

We are going to have so much depth and options if we land someone of that build!

Remy went to Marseille for about £15m on a 5 year deal last year. Cost wise he may be too much and would they want him to leave with a ration of 1 in 3?

I reckon Seydou Doumbia could be a possibility, plays with Tiote for Ivory Coast, although that would mean that he would be away for ACN in Jan, and we would then need another forward as cover, but potentially a possibility.

And someone came on yesterday saying Podolski is never going to want to leave the Polish German community he and his wife are in.

They put that down to his move back away from Bayern but he would be great although our left side is already overloaded?

A bid from Chelsea has come in tiote. Strurridge plus cash is on offer. Not sure how much. Mate works at Nufc. Says pardew likely to go for it.

Really can’t see that being true like.
