Joey Barton – We Have To Give Fans The Success They Deserve

Joey Barton will be disappointed he is not on the plane to America this Sunday, but of course he will be in the Reserve squad that will tour Holland.

Joey Barton – will tour Holland with Newcastle youngsters

And Joey will be very good for the youngsters on that tour, because he has always been interested in the youngsters, ever since he arrived on Tyneside four years ago from Manchester City.

Joey told the local Newcastle press corps today:

“The young lads train with us quite a bit so we know them.” “Any squad competition is good, but the strength of your team is judged on the strength of your bench.”

“A lot of lads have a point to prove and they want to be playing for the first team.” “That can only be a good thing from Newcastle’s point of view.”

“Last season in some of the Carling Cup games they went about it the right way.”  “That’s the way you do it. You give the manager a headache and they did that last season, so it bodes well for this year.”

“Look at the end of last season,  we went to places like Chelsea with a lot of young lads in there.” “We had a lot of players out like Tiote, Steve Harper, Leon Best and Kevin Nolan and the list went on and on.”

“They will be better for that experience this season and can kick on.” “That has to be the attitude for the season ahead.” “We can’t rest on our laurels and we have to push on and give the fans the success they deserve.”

We have to hope that this will not be Joey’s last season on Tyneside, but it’s looking that way, with Newcastle now refusing to offer Joey a contract extension.

Great news this summer – which is not going to happen –  would be if  Jose Enrique signs his new deal to stay at Newcastle and Joey is offered a new deal that he signs,  to keep him at Newcastle for the next three  years.

It will not happen, but that would be uplifting for the Newcastle fan base.

Pardew says we need to sell to buy now. If that’s the case fine. Just sell Tiote, for Sturridge + Anholt and 15million cash. sell Enrique for 7million.

Buy Neil Taylor and Matuidi. So we would have gained Sturridge, Anholt, N.Taylor and Matuidi for Enrique and Tiote. Good business there in my opinion.

Hope Ashley just gets lost from our club. Wonder where the 35million went now. And Pardew has the cheek to say we have a big squad. LOL!

  • I bet Pedro will have his eye on Joey. As if Joey doesn’t think he should be there Pardew will know and I think it depends on how the team bond in USA whether Joey is shipped out or not.

@8 – True. Wonder why its banned by FIFA? Hardly performance enhancing now is it? If you play in the Dutch league are you allowed to spark one up?

Maybe the plan is to wait until really late in the window, offer Joey an extension, and then claim that “he’s a new player”

    @pit yacker ..
try to look at it this way: how many academy players populate the first team of Barcelona and Arsenal. Its a know fact that if you want players to play like a “team” and not on individual skill you need to have players play with eacother for years. Thats why the Barcelona and the Spanish national team are so succsesfull.

NUFC have received NO bids for Barton, Enrique or Tiote

I’d imagine clubs will wait until last day of transfer window and then put in very low bids knowing toon have to either sell or let barton/enrique negotiate with other clubs in Jan and then go for nowt next summer – good for players as they’ll be able to negotiate a couple of million signing on fee, bad for toon as we’ll end up with nowt

Guys anyone else thinking that our squad isn’t too small, just was with all the injuries…(especially if the youngsters can make the step up which i reckon a few can)

    keeper: Krul, Harper, Forster

Leftback: Enrique (?), ferguson, (maybe one coming in a s back up

Centreback: Collo, Steven Taylor, Williamson (MAYBE one more although not a necessity0

Rightback: Raylor, Steven Taylor, Gosling, Simpson, Tavernier

Holding mid- Tiote, cabaye (maybe at a stretch), (this spot i reckon we need cover for tiotes yellows)

Left wing: Guti, Marveux, Ferguson,(ben arfa i reckon will play here in 4:4:2)

Centremid: Tiote, cabaye, barton, vuckic, guthrie, gosling

Rightwing: Guti, Lua Lua (hope he can play looks qual), gosling, Barton

    Attacking midfielders: Benny, Cabaye, vuckic

Strikers: Ba, Best, Airey, (One more quick goal poacher and id be happy )

In total i reckon we’ve got a pretty large amount forr competition for each spot in my opinion (i only included players that i reckon are good enough). All that i hope for is a holding midfielder to cover tiotes yellow, and a quick and skillful striker and maybe a bit of cover for enrique if he does stay

    Just my opinion though 🙂

stock exchange could only mean a flotation as we are owned by a single individual (although a very large one) Ashley de listed the club, so I reckon its a pile of anal dogpoo.

ALAN PARDEW says he has not received an inquiry for Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote. Reports in London yesterday suggested Chelsea had enquired for the African star, but Pardew said today: “There has been no communication with Chelsea.”

Pardew was also asked again if the £35m from the sale of Andy Carroll will be spent and told reporters: “Our wage bill has gone up by some distance.

“I’m not going to go into detail, but all the money is going to go back into the club.

“The finances are well documented, but we cannot compete with the big boys at this time.”

    More terrible news….

Lets face it tomorrow will be hugely disappointing in NUFC land. Nothing major will happen, no players will come in, no new owners will be around, no money will be spent and we will probably be given a nicely worded ‘F**k off’ from the management

    Least we might beat Darlington

Alinufc…..it’s great the way you name one player in several different positions. It maybe that they are versatile but one injury to them means they are ruled out in all those positions!! The reality is we still have loads of shite still at the club who we are unable to move on and are still paper thin on quality, particularly at left back, up front and on the right side. We have been lied to again about investment and we are taking an almighty gamble if we expect the current set-up to achieve anything of note. A spate of injuries (which happens at any club during a long season) will mean a survival fight, because there are not enough goals in the present squad and the heirarchy (after a zero net spend) are trying to convince evryone they’ve spent the AC cash. An utter disgrace.
