Neil Taylor Signs New Deal At Swansea

As expected by the news yesterday that Neil Taylor was close to signing a new deal at Swansea City, Sky Sports is now  reporting that left-back Neil Taylor has indeed signed a new four-year deal with Swansea.

Neil Taylor – sings new deal for Swansea.

Newcastle thought they had a deal for £1M for the left-back a few weeks ago, because of a £1M release clause in Taylor’s contract, but Swansea wouldn’t do the deal.

However, this chapter is now closed with Neil Taylor deciding to sign a new deal for Swansea City, and he’ll not now be coming to Newcastle.

The news comes after Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers had said yesterday that the left back would soon be signing a new deal for Swansea – to the astonishment of Newcastle officials.

It seems like a 180 degrees switch by the 22 year-old player, after Neil had been reported to be so keen to join Newcastle United.

But if players don’t want to come to Newcastle that’s fine,   it’s their choice,  and they shouldn’t come.

So we can now cross Neil Taylor off the list as a potential Newcastle signing,  but we wonder who’s still on that list?

Comments welcome.

As long as we spend 5million on transfer fees its fine by me. I’m not expecting the whole 35mil to be re invested knowing Ashley.

What astonishes me is, we can’t even offer N.Taylor a better deal than Swansea, when we has so interested in joining us more than a week ago, even wanting to take Swansea to court.

We are short of numbers, so just get Karim Ziani in. He’s free, and decent backup and another couple of players. We are good to go.

Did the transfer window end? Just going off the comments in the last post you’d think it had. It gets tremendously boring.

I choose to be positive rather than negative! So far we HAVE done great, and it’s about 45 days left of the window. How many teams have strenghtened considerably, part from Sunderland, L’pool & us?

Cheers 7GeordieToon89. I am going to wait till the start of the season but I am just sick of being lied to that’s the worst thing about the club now. The players we have brought in for next to nothing have been fantastic don’t get me wrong but to try and say we have spent most of the money when they all said it would all go back into the squad. It’s too much for me. I can barely afford to pay for my ticket in the eaststand as it is without funding total lies. How far does he have to push it? Tiote gone on the last day?

    Boater,

    (Posted on the last thread)

It’s just my perception of his character. I don’t think he’s the type of player that want’s all the fame and money. He’s never been a flashy type of player and like I said, he’s more of a fan of the sport and appreciates a footballing city like Newcastle. If he had any interest of joining the big clubs he would never have joined us in the first place. Ask yourself why would someone who was being named the new ‘Zinedine Zidane’ of France join the likes of Newcastle? A team who just got promoted from the Championship. Why would a player who you think would jump at a chance to play with any of the super clubs. Like I say, he has no interest of the fame & fortune. He just want’s to play footie for a club who (hate to say it but,) loves him.

HBA isn’t a typical footballer that we all know of. He isn’t about the ‘bling’ and flashy cars, women, etc…. He is an intellectual footballer and in this modern era that is rare in a footballer. Like I say, this is my view on the player and you are of course entitled to your opinion.

its not about how many days in the window or who we have already signed. its about us being lied to. we all would have been extemely happy had we not been told the full 35mil will be reinvested into the TEAM. now pardew says we have to sell to buy. theres more to this hatred than just signings now..

ohwoop we didnt get neil taylor. surprisingly he didnt want to come. That was the final decision that swayed him.

We are looking solely at the continent or championship now for players. expensive brits often are overpaid (see liverpool, city)

will hope our current setup will survive. but with 7 weeks to go i think we’ll end up making a profit this summer. thanks A$$hley

    Who cares? Honestly?

We just dodged the next James Perch in all likelyhood.

I’m way more pi55ed off at our pathetic non-attempt to get N’Zogbia. He would have fitted in perfect to our new look team, loves NUFC and is well proven in the Prem. A complete no-brainer.

Oh and 1 more thing BUY A DECENT STRIKER FFS! How hard can it be to find a quality potential #9 and pay him a decent wage?

Apparently impossible with the cheapest billionaire on the planet in charge. Pathetic!

Not sure myself, but this would definately solve the striker issue.

    Why is everyone so angry?
We’ve missed out on a player with 1 years chamionship experience and N’Zogbia is unlikely to be coming.

We’ve made 4 good signings, Pardew says we’re desperate to get a striker over the line. We obviously are trying we’ve tried for Gamiero and Gervinho and another bid in for Erdinc

I still think we should go after Bendtner he’s better than what we’ve got and can play wide right both positions we need to strengthen in.

I feel rather sour saying Swansea offered a more promising offer on the table than us. wow, i didnt think id ever say that.

    ilovetoon8788@

Your forgetting one thing about your potential deal, Sturridge is on like 60/70k ALREADY at Chelsea, a Loan with them paying 50% seems more suited for our cheapskate board.

We will NOT offer him in contract terms 60/70k which he is on, and perhaps Danny wants an improvment on that. We stand no real chance of getting Danny because he is just too expensive for our board.

@Colo2, I believe there are two kinds of people getting angry here:

    1. people who are never pleased unless Pele and Beckenbauer are in our team
    2. people who think Pardew lies to us all the time

I think Pardew is really not a good manager for NUFC in terms of being straight forward. I am not saying he’s lying, but some of us would feel he’s not telling us the truth all the time. If we can’t sign N’Zog, just say it, or don’t give us hope today and trash it the next day. Anyway, he has to learn that we are a passionate club, unlike the ones he lead before.

Yeah, we’ll wind up shifting enrique gently out for 9m mid august and definitely pickup a reputably decent yet unproven foreign quantity. Only way to make profits. selling players for more ASShley money.

As for nzog. dont think you could get better value elsewhere with experience, goals, ex player wanting to prove something! 9m!!!!! are u shitting me A$$hley. pardew must have had targets….. and from what we’ve seen, the ones with price tags wont come thru.

He told them that he was going to bring in a big signing, so everybody was thinking who it was going to be. The transfer window shut and he told them that the big signing was colo. the big fat lying c@nt.
