New Boys At Newcastle Mixing In Very Well

Newcastle play their first game of the pre-season tomorrow night at Darlington,  and Danny Simpson for one, is really looking forward to the game.

Danny Simpson – new lads mixing in well

And Danny has also praised the newly arrived French speaking players, for mixing in well with the rest of the lads, which is very good to hear, because Newcastle must keep up their excellent team spirit of the last couple of years.

Newcastle Assistant manager John Carver is responsible to ensure the lads mix together and there are no cliques, and of course John has lots of experience doing that job, and things seem to be working well on that front.

Newcastle fans will be there in numbers tomorrow night at Darlington, as they get their first glimpse of some of the new players and also  of  top youngsters Ben Arfa and Dan Gosling, who are both returning from long term injuries.

Danny Simpson talked to the Newcastle web site today:

“It’s been a long time since we last played so we’re obviously looking forward to Friday,”

“The sooner the better for playing a game, and once the first one’s out the way then we’ll be ready to crack on.

“The new lads, Yohan Cabaye, Sylvain Marveaux, Demba Ba and Mehdi Abeid have come in, looked really good and are getting involved with the boys.”

“They aren’t afraid to chat to us and be a part of the squad, so it’s good.”  “It will be good to get a run out at Darlington and play with the new lads, get to know each other and each other’s games.

“We are getting to know them well off the pitch and then once Friday comes we can get some game time and learn about them on the pitch too.”

The lads will also have a big chance to get to know each other  on the American tour, but the reports we are hearing from the Benton training grounds suggests the lads are  getting on very well together – and that’s very good!

The Newcastle  web site has put out this information for the match tomorrow night:

Only pay on the night cash only tickets remain for the friendly at Darlington on Friday night, and can be purchased from the visiting ticket office in the East Stand of the Northen Echo Arena from 6.30 pm.

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this, but bennys no. 10 shirt has been all but confirmed. If you go on the club shop and buy a shirt with a player on the back, benny is listed with the no. 10 shirt. Its also worth noticing that xisco and routs aren’t listed.

We seem to not even be linked with players anymore(except for the same players we were linked with 1 month ago). At the beginning of the summer it was 2 or 3 players a day and these days it’s either Enrique news, which is to say no news at all or how our new players and looking/feeling/learning english/buying houses. SO boring, and looking more and more likely that we’ll be lucky to sign 2 more players before the window shuts, nevermind the trip to America or the start of the season.

big Klaus from Arsenal, his own biggest fan but not a bad player and certainly better than our forward line (Ba excluded)

Ed, surprised no-one has reported that we have offered 4mill for Zogs. It was on Sky, and in the Times. Stupidly small offer, but amazed that its not on News Now……?

I don’t get the people who are knocking the whole “new players” thing with Ben Arfa and Gosling. We couldn’t use them last season, but now we can, and, as such, the squad is increased. Surely that’s the idea.

Would you prefer it if we paid for them again?

Okay, I know we didn’t pay for Gosling, but since he came on board, he’s played for about 15 minutes. We’ve not really had the use of either of them, so they are, effectively, new players for us.

It just smacks a bit of “I WANT NEW TOYS, MUMMY, NOT THE ONES YOU’VE BEEN KEEPING ON THE SHELF!!! BUY ME MORE STUFF!!!”.
