Only Two More Players In Before The Window Closes

Alan Pardew has again said he wants only two more players in before the window shuts close on Wednesday,  August 31st.

Alan Pardew – two more players needed

That doesn’t seem enough players, but we suppose we’ll wait to see how things go over the next seven weeks or so, because some senior players could still leave Newcastle and they would need to be replaced.

This is what Alan Pardew told the Newcastle press:

“We’re looking at getting one or two more players in before the window closes, but we’ve also got a big squad.”

“We need to move one or two on, that’s where we are.”  “One or two players aren’t going to get the first-team action they deserve for the type of player they are.”

“They’ll be better off getting first-team football elsewhere, be it on loan or permanently.”

Newcastle  will need to work overtime to clear out the decks  at Newcastle,  where players like Wayne Routledge, Alan Smith,  Kazenga LuaLua, Nile Ranger and Leon Best could all be moved to other clubs.

So can Jose Enrique and Joey barton but we hope they will stay on Tyneside for the next season, and in addition Jose will sign his new deal.

Those departures will not include Cheick Tiote, although once again in the last several days he has been linked with a move to Chelsea becasue of the long term injury to Michael Essien.

It looks like Newcastle may now miss out on Swansea’s Neil Taylor, who now seems likely to sign a new contract to stay at Swansea, and we assume if they have a release clause in that contract, they make it say £10M.

It will be interesting to see who makes the trip to the USA this coming Sunday, as we have to assume players like Wayne Routledge, who are looking to move on this summer, may not be included in the squad.

Comments welcome.

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this, but bennys no. 10 shirt has been all but confirmed. If you go on the club shop and buy a shirt with a player on the back, benny is listed with the no. 10 shirt. Its also worth noticing that xisco and routs aren’t listed.

Sorry about the repost, but waiting for moderation delayed the first one so I was unsure you guys read it.

Lets just wait and see what happens. I still think there will be more than 2 new players in before the window shuts as I dont think Pardew is considering development players in the 2. Personally I think/hope he means 2 starting 11 players

  • Thing is is: Is 1 or 2 an expression from Pardew that means 1 or 2? Or is it an expression that means peanuts? “I’ll just have one or two” then he stuffs his face?

Hope we keep LuaLua like and Ranger only goes out on loan.

Hopefully Smith and Rout will be shipped out (if possible)

Hopefully we get a striker and a winger in.

Knowing our current leadership at the club it’ll be 1 or 2 free transfers that we’ll see before the end of August. Expectations for this club are no longer high when it comes to the transfer market. While I don’t want to see the stupid spending we once had, I would like to see a true investment in our strikeforce for once under the MA tenure.

WHATS GOING ON WITH THE BOARD AND MIKE ASHLEY ? THE CLUB HAS GOT 35 MILLION TO SPEND AFTER THE SALE OF KEVIN NOLAN OK THE CLUB CAN KEEP 5 MILLION THE CLUB HAS JUST BROUGHT IN ONE PLAYER AND TWO FREE TRANSFERS.

AND WHY IS THE CLUB LOOKING LETTING 2 MORE OUR BEST PLAYERS GO IN DEFENCE.ALAN PAR DEW IS A YES MAN AS WELL HE DOES WHAT EVER THE BOARD AND MIKE ASHLEY TELLS HIM TO SAY ABOUT PLAYERS ALL THE AT THE TIME.

CUSS YOU KNOW ITS ALL LIES HE IS SAYING ABOUT THE PLAYERS LIKE NOLAN AND THE OTHER 2 GOOD PLAYERS WE HAVE IN DEFENCE ABOUT IE THERE CONTRACTS WAGES ITS JUST A COVER UP MIKE ASHLEY CUSS WE THE FOOTBALL CLUB IS A SELLING AND MIKE ASHLEY IS BLEEED DRY BUS .

CUSS WE ARE TOTALLY TURNING INTO A SELLING CLUB LIKE THE TIMES HAS SAID.UNLESS THE MONEY IS NOT PUT BACK INTO THE CLUB THOUGH PLAYERS AND THE YOUTH SET UP MORE WE ARE NOT GOING DO VERY WELL NEXT SESSION.

OR IN THE FUTURE THATS WHY I FEEL THE FOOTBALL CLUB NEEDS A TOTAL STRONG 22 SQUAD AND WE NEED 3 WORLD CLASS DEFENDERS 6 IF Jose Enrique AND Fabricio Coloccini GOES SELL Michael Williamson. WE NEED A WORLD CLASS STRIKER SELL SHOLA AMEOBI KEEP THE OTHER 3 AND LOAN RANGER OUT.

IF THE MONEY DOES GET SPENT WHAT I SAY I BY THE TIME THE TRANSFER WINDOW SHUTS ALL US REAL NEWCASTLE UTD FANS SHOULD GET MIKE ASHLEY OUT HOW YOU ASK THOUGH A FACEBOOK ACTION GROUP, DONT BUY ANY SESSION TICKETS OR TICKETS TO WATCH THEM PLAY.

DONT SPEND ANY MONEY THE FOOTBALL CLUB IE CLUB SHOP’ SHEARES BAR’ STADIUM TOURS ETC SPORTS DIRECT WEB SITES HIT HIM WERE IT HURTS THE POCKET REMEMBER HE IS A BUSINESS MAN.

LETS ALL UNITE ON THIS WE NEED AT LEAST HALF OF THE STADIUMS SUPPORT ON THIS ITS PEOPLE POWER REMEMBER THAT MOVE AS A TEAM NEVER MOVE ALONE. BUTS LETS SEE IF MIKE ASHLEY STICKS TO HIS WORD IN WHAT HE SAID AFTER THE CLUB SOLD ANDY CARROLL AND THE MONEY TO SIGN NEW PLAYERS BUT LETS WENT AND SEE.

AT THE END OF THIS TRANSFER WINDOW ?

A player I think this club needs and ive seen his name mentioned on here a few times is Celtics Gary Hooper. Hes basically a young Ruud Van Nistlerooy, he scores most of his goals within the box although he does score the odd wonder goal and I mean wonder goal. Yes he had played most of his short career in leagues equivelent to the Championship but I know he would be able to make the step up to the Premierleague with us. His goals scoring record speaks for its self hes scored 43goals in 80 Apps for Scunthorpe and 20 goals in 26 Apps for Celtic he seems to be scoring more and more goals as the years go on and I really think hes worth a shot, he’ll guarantee us probably 10-15 goals a season and in a few years in the Premierleague he could maybe get us 18-20 goals a season. Because of the amount goals he can score I can see him being the player to replace Andy Carroll upfront, hes maybe not a world class striker but in a few years he can be 100 times better than he is now. He’ll only cost up maybe 6-7 million now and in time he can be worth 15-20 million possibly more considering hes English and we all know how much English players seem to be going for these days. If we bought him he’d be able to go straight into the side and start scoring goals for us. Heres a link to some of his goals most of them look like simple goals but its all becuase Gary makes them look simple:

so end of the season Pardews saying we need 4 or 5 MORE players as the squad is SMALL. Now we have had 4 players leave the squad, 4 players joined the squad, 2 players back from loan, and he wants to move 2 players on, yet we now have a big squad hmmmmmm. By my maths we have the exact same size squad as last season in terms of numbers, maybe better quality yes but numbers are the same so how are we now a big squad?

“This guy shoots from his anus” 🙂

How true wynsleap this is exactly what he told Talkshite in May.

This year though we didn’t have a squad big enough, in the modern game you must have 20-22 quality players.”

We’ve brought in three, let two go and another two out with 2 more potentially coming in ? Thats a net gain of 1 !!!!!!

As we have so often said on this blog about this board – You just couldnt make the shlt up 🙁

I think/hope what they mean is they have 1 or 2 more planned players to come in, then maybe see how we shape up & bring in others, hopefully N’Zogbia and a striker, but who knows who that could be… As for the two being moved out, Routledge & Xisco i hope.

I think there has been a few people on here saying this would happen, mentioning the squad size and commenting how the maths isnt working!

They are always shouted down by the likes of Davybtoon, stuart otters pocket etc saying how things will be alright at the end of the tranfer window.

I am a believer in wait and see i suppose but when we are told, we are 4 or five players short of decent a EPL squad by Mr Pardew, then we let 4 or 5 squad players go, replace them with 4 players, add a further 2, unless my maths are total crap that leaves us still 3 players short?

Mmmmm Pardew is doing himself no favours by starting to take a leaf out of Mike Ashleys book and talking through his buttocks I feel.

And caps lock man, some of the 35 million went to buying a ‘Bore hole’ ……get with the programme, its what all clubs do!!!!

Where are the Pro Mike Ashley Brigade? Trying to make sense of the latest protestations from Pardew no doubt? After all they have all said wait until the end of the transfer window? What are your thoughts on this turn of events? Why were we consistently told the squad was too small and yet it will be even smaller if only 2 more players come in? Oh and almost forgot 2 out!

Angryman, goals, solano , where are you guys, i believe you all said this would happen at some point……its your chance to shine!!

Please bare in mind we did spend a huge slice on the bore hole and heated pitches, like all the other clubs did!

When talking about a squad being too small it is what it says on the tin, a squad…inclusive of injured players, as i believe even though injured, they are still in the squad? I think Solano once said they will con us into believeing HBA and Gosling are like 2 new signings, or was it angry? or both?

We know Mike Ashley Takes the p!ss out of us thick geordies, but at the end of the day, me in particular who has always given him the benefit, must come to a point in time when we say, hey, enough is enough, you ARE taking the p!ss, you ARE telling Lie after Lie after Lie…..

We arent thick, we arent stupid, just come clean and tell us why, you are not willing to try and do whats best for our football team and its world reknowned fans?

Not defending these words but the squad is stronger in a sense that two of the three players that have left never got anywhere near the first team anyway, and 3 of the 4 signed will do immediately, maybe abeid along the line.

We’ve also got Gosling and HBA back fit which adds two players.

We do have a small squad and the saying quality and not quantity doesnt really count. We should have at least 2 players for every position even if that means one of the players has to be a youngster or one of reserves, we cant only have one player for each position because if they get injured that is when we start playing players out of position and that is no good to anyone.

our squad is too big? has anyone else noticed any similarities between the signings we have made? Ba brought in to replace Carrol. Cabaye brought in to replace Nolan. i wouldn’t be surprised if Marveuxxe (excuse my french) was brought in to replace Jonas. We have been linked with Neil Taylor, for £1m, which is likely to be a replacement for Enrique.
So where has this £35m gone really? Free Agents dont come cheap? Portions of the money used pay for wages etc. so if Andy Carrol wasnt sold, does that mean we wouldnt of spent anything this summer? where all the revenue money going? money from Sky, Ticket sales etc etc?
Ashley is pulling everyones legs, and pardew is just as much a player as anyone else.
