Erdinc Agent Still Preventing Deal With PSG

As we reported last weekend, it seems that Mevlut Erdinc’s agent, Pierre Frelot,  is the one holding up the deal to bring the Turkish striker to Newcastle.

Pierre Frelot – wants bonus from Newcastle

And new news today in the Sunday Sun, is  that Erdinc has  even agreed terms with Newcastle,  but the £7.5m transfer is still in serious doubt, and probably will not happen, after an argument about bonuses with his agent,  Pierre Frelot.

As we understand it, Frelot wants a bonus if Newcastle sign his client,  and Newcastle are unwilling to pay that.

And of course it would appear that Erdinc will lose his first team place at PSG next season, and a move to Newcastle would appear to be a good career move for the striker.

But it seems that in order to finally push through the move, the 24 year-old would need to change his agent, and that’s unlikely to happen.

Newcastle have been getting lots of offers from agents for their players,  and news is the club were even offered Preston’s David Nugent last week, before he moved to Leicester City, but Newcastle were not interested in the former England U21 International.

We expect to see a new striker in before the season starts in mid-August, and a full back is another priority, but that will be it for this summer, unless players leave the club, and they will then be replaced.

It would be good to move Jose Enrique out, and bring in another good young full back, and bring that long-running soap opera to an end.

Comments welcome.

This is what ‘Transfer tony’ recconed the other night, and there have been persistent rumors about this- it was done. . . . .and this could be one of them.

But it seems there is always a dispute with the club or agent every time MA does a deal, so it fits the pattern.

Greedy agents eh?! Funnyhow we were prepared to blow most of our transfer kitty on our new arrivals’ agents. Incredible hypocrisy again. Patsy Pardew must be blushing in the corner again.

Same agent as Matuidi, heard this was to do with loyalty payments owed if Erdinc stayed until this Jan .. still if Erdinc wants the move he knows what he has to do .. it would be great if we got him in and sturridge on Loan .. mind as long as sturridge coming doesn’t come at the expense of Ranger,Best and Sammys 🙂 development

With all the financial regulations being brought in by the governing bodies of football, can someone please explain to me why the hell are agents able to operate separate to every rule, regulation and moral code of the game?
Tens of millions are taken out of the game every transfer window by these thieving, morally corrupt so-called professional men

I think I would drop the deal for Erdinc in favour of a deal for Sturridge as long as it was with a view to buy.

Colwell, Long is a good player and has the potential to be very good. A lot of goals last season proves that and his movement is much better than Loionel Richie’s. Don’t fret though, we won’t be signing Shane (from the British Isles 😉 ) because MA wouldn’t spend Christmas.

Long is 3rd choice striker for Ireland, Best is 4th or 5th, if Best was a superior striker he’d be ahead of Long.

I like Best and hope he stays but i honestly think people comment on players quality on here without ever watching them play.

I wonder how I can become an agent? You only work for a couple of months in the winter and a couple in the summer, and yet you have the power to make or break players futures.

Surely, the player should pay the agent for services rendered to him after that service has been carried out

24 goals in the Championship would suggest that Shane Long is a very, very good player.
How many goals did our strikers score in that league when we walked away with it???

Hopefully we’ll bring in Sturridge on loan, Erding for the quoted £7.5M and send Ranger out on loan to Blackpool.
From what I’ve seen with the youngsters, the future’s bright but the kit is orange

It certainly seems that we’ve def got that £8 -£10m for a quality striker set aside regardless of outgoings. The only thing concerning the Enrique Saga, does he stay or does he go, is that if he goes, wel probably go back in for m’bengue which isn’t a problem. If he stays, well, he does just that, but the problem with him playing here next season is that hel be wanting to go for free next year, which is no good for us trying to replace him as we won’t have that, say £6 or £7m to spend.

I’m really looking forward to seeing cabaye play next season as well as magic man Ben arfa of course. I dont think that people have quite grasped the quality that marveaux could bring if he stays fit. From a bit of research, he seems quality as well. Free transfers or not, marveaux, ba and minimal outlays for cabaye and abeid are excellent purchases. True value of these players would be around £25m, so regardless of people moaning (rightly so to an extent) we are being very efficient.

Just hope we do sign Erding as he looks like he would fit into the system nicely as the direct outlet (Bellamy style) which is why wer so interested. He is an important unit in the formula of play. Surely if Erding comes to his senses a bit more he might try and pressure his agent to getting the deal done.

Would love to see Sturridge come on loan if there was an option to purchase him.

Don’t think that Erdnic will come after playing the other day for Psg.

Would love it if Ashley was close to selling

Long and Best have almost identical records. They are the same age, both have a 1 in 4 goal too game ratio what would be the point of signing him for 7.5m maybe more when he won`t bring anything we haven`t already got? He had 1 good year and how many of those were pens? Keep Best.

Sturridge seems to be like a player who can well play in the attacking right mid role, to cut inside to support Ba upfront. Loved the way he Sturridge toyed with Enrique last season in a match with Bolton. Did a skill and cut in.

If Sturridge indeed comes i got a feeling we’ll be seeing Marveaux==Arfa===Sturridge attacking mid trio. Exciting.

Amazing how an “Agent” employed by and acting for the player, demands anything at all from the other party. It should be up to Erdinc to pay his agent for the services the Agent supplies to him, usually as a % of salary – just like a golfer pays his Agent, his caddy etc from his winnings.

The only real difference I can see is that the Golfers Agent actually provides a service while the footy agent is a bottom dwelling, scum sucking parasite!! But I could be wrong!!

The way i see it is his agent and the player himself would recieve a loyalty bonus if he were to stay at PSG through this window. So when we agreed a fee for him and agreed terms his agent asked us to pay for the bonus instead to which Ashley said no chance. We’re haggling over between half a mill to 1 million euros. I think this situation clarifies the point that we did not spend much on securing our “free signings” earlier this window despite what we’re lead to believe. Now we’re off to America and whoever we bring in will miss most of our preseason, thanks Ashley. It’s all quite farcical really.

Why are we on a forums quibbling about loan deals, cheap options, agent’s fees and 4th, 5th, 6th choice players from the championship, and players that don’t want to even come.
