News today in the local Sunday Sun that Newcastle want to get Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge on loan for next season.
Daniel Sturridge – Newcastle want him on loan
It seems the club have now almost given up on getting PSG striker Mevlut Erdinc, and a permanent move for the Chelsea player was never on, when the club were quoted £20M for the player.
But why do we hear reports that Stoke have bid £6M for the 21 year-old Chelsea striker?
Maybe those reports are just not true, and there is still money available for a striker at Newcastle, as the club have bid £10M for Kevin Gameiro and £7M for Erdinc, without any success.
But the strange news is that Mike Ashley has told Alan Pardew he must sell, before he can bring in any additional players, after the striker.
It seems that Newcastle are now looking at getting Sturridge on a season long loan deal, but they will face some strong competition for the Birmingham-born striker.
Bolton are interested, and of course that’s where Sturridge played earlier this year on loan, and other clubs could also be interested in taking Daniel on loan.
It’s is also being reported that Pardew has been very keen to bring the former Manchester City striker to the club permanently, but has not received much support at all from Ashley, because of the £20M price tag.
Danny Welbeck is another striker being monitored as a possible loan deal, but Sunderland should be favorites to get him of the Red Devils decide to let him go out on loan again.
Pardew told the Sunday Sun today:
“We have other targets than Erdinc. There’s a mixture of Continental and now British targets. It’d be foolish to limit ourselves.”
““There’s not a striker who moves that we’re not aware of or involved with – we have to be.” “We would also do a loan player if there was something at the end of it for us.”
Newcastle may have been quoted £20M for Sturridge, because he’s probably worth that if Andy Carroll is worth £35M.
We’d love to see Sturridge at the club and a season long loan deal would be very good.
