Newcastle Want Sturridge On Season Long Loan

News today in the local Sunday Sun that Newcastle want to get Chelsea’s Daniel Sturridge on loan for next season.

Daniel Sturridge – Newcastle want him on loan

It seems the club have now almost given up on getting PSG striker Mevlut Erdinc, and a permanent move for the Chelsea player was never on, when the club were quoted £20M for the player.

But why do we hear reports that Stoke have bid £6M for the 21 year-old Chelsea striker?

Maybe those reports are just not true, and there is still money available for a striker at Newcastle, as the club have bid £10M for Kevin Gameiro and £7M for Erdinc, without any success.

But the strange news is that Mike Ashley has told Alan Pardew he must sell,  before he can bring in any additional players, after the striker.

It seems that Newcastle are now looking at getting Sturridge on a season long loan deal, but they will face some strong competition for the Birmingham-born striker.

Bolton are interested, and of course that’s where Sturridge played earlier this year on loan, and other clubs could also be interested in taking Daniel on loan.

It’s is also being reported that Pardew has been very keen to bring the former Manchester City striker  to the club permanently, but has not received much support at all from Ashley, because of the £20M price tag.

Danny Welbeck is another striker being monitored as a possible loan deal, but Sunderland should be favorites to get him of the Red Devils decide to let him go out on loan again.

Pardew told the Sunday Sun today:

“We have other targets than Erdinc. There’s a mixture of Continental and now British targets. It’d be foolish to limit ourselves.”

““There’s not a striker who moves that we’re not aware of or involved with – we have to be.”  “We would also do a loan player if there was something at the end of it for us.”

Newcastle may have been quoted £20M for Sturridge, because he’s probably worth that if Andy Carroll is worth £35M.

We’d love to see Sturridge at the club and a season long loan deal would be very good.

Comments welcome.

Interesting how Pardew says British targets rather than English, though maybe I am reading too much into that…

Anyway hope they don’t include Carlton Cole or Crouch..

Would love to see Sturridge here even if it was just a loan.

I’m betting it includes players such as Sturridge, Long, etc.
    Those “types”.
We’d be foolish to pick less of a talent as those.
As Pardew says, it has to have something in it for us.

This is exactly the type of move we should be making, get it done quickly and make sure there’s an option to buy at the end of it. This could be our most positive move yet!

Why don’t Ashley buy him for 20 million?
He still has over 30 million of the Carroll money left…
All the other deals Ba, Marveux etc, their wages can be paid over the length of their contracts.

Just buy him mike you fecking cheapskate

see the sunday sun says agreed 7.5mill for erding n agreed personal terms but a falling out with his agent has stalled the move

If we can get a loan + future fee deal for sturridge it would be fantastic. We can buy him if he does perform well for us. Or we should just go in for Shane Long quickly. He’s a player some big clubs are looking at. Shane Long could be a quality striker for a top club.

    NUFC_Richyg01,

Shane Long is not British, he’s Irish.

Would love if this were true and it actually happened. Sturridge looks like a great young player with bags of potential.

Lots of people on here give out about Crouch, i don’t think he’s too bad at all, wouldn’t be my first choice but wouldn’t mind signing him at all.

Sturridge is a good player with lots of potential.
Then after the striker, “sell before we buy” – the totally wrong way to do it. It’s a total p**stake on so many counts. We were supposed to be in a position of strength, with money on the hip, ready to spend. But now it seems we will be in a position of weakness and will be suspect to last day bids, resulting in no time left to find replacements. Sound familiar to anyone? Could be entering a season with no proven leftback – the last time we did that we got relegated. Not a penny spent and taken for mugs again.

So Erding’s agent must have wanted too big of a fee if we signed his client. Not Mike Ashley’s way to just give money away is it? Yet were also supposed to believe we’ve spent the 35million on things like agents fee’s. Interesting….

Ha ha Irish. You bet me too it. Ireland is not part of Britain and being from Tipperary long is certainly not British. I think he’s a decent bet but there has been little rumours so i doubt well see him ere. As i said before i think he’d be a bit hit with the fans and a great file for ba. Fingers crossed!

Eaststand….that was my point, he was extremely raw and average in his first fulll season and KK recognised that- he wanted to bring in Warnock to have the choice of two but totallly rejected by MA and chums. Remember?

This could be another case of smoke and mirrors from the club, here’s the headline: “We tried to get Sturridge on loan with an option to buy, Chelsea would not agree to the deal being made permanent at the end of the season so we had to walk away from the deal.” I think I am starting to become a Neggar. Just kidding, would love this story to be true.

Too many gambles being made. We are so weak on the right side too in my opinion and we can’t even shift the deadwood, mostly signed and given lucrative contracts under MA’s regime.

Well, I don’t think MA would pay £Cash, a loan is a possibility, another guess by the @chronic-journo-sun crew

I still want to fantasize about Berba hanging out at SJP, but peter crouch in B&W vertical stripes comes close second.

At least nobody has mentioned Robbie Keane this window oops!

Davyb…why after Jose goes? We all know he will be away. We need one BEFORE he goes. We are up and playing now and a new arrival will need time to bed in. Or are we just going to throw in a new arrival straight into a derby match? Crazy policy. Profit before sense, every time.
