19 Year-Old Yven Moyo – Once To Watch For The Future

As we mentioned earlier today, one of the lads to watch out for this season in the Reserve team squad is teenager Yven Moyo.

Yven Moyo – this lad has skills galore

This very promising player, who turned 19  last March,  has played for the France Under-18 side, and caught the attention of Manchester United about three years ago as a 16-year-old.

And last September he arrived at Newcastle, following a trial on Tyneside, and signed a four-year contract with the club.

We were pleased to see that 18 year-old Frenchman Mehdi Abeid seems to have made an instant impact on Tyneside, and he has looked good both in training and during Friday night’s game at Darlington.

Yven is a similar type of player,  and usually plays on the left hand side of midfield, and Newcastle will be hoping they can turn him into the finished article, and that he can become a top player for the Tyneside club.

Reserve Team Coach Peter Beardsley certainly  seems to be a firm believer in the 6′ tall youngster, as he had this to say last season after one of  Yven’s promising performances:

“I really like him,”  “He really can play and he was very good today.”

“He’s definitely got ability and he showed it today.”

“He was great to watch, caused problems throughout his time on the pitch and scored a good goal.”

And Yven scored a goal and looked impressive in the Reserve’s  2-1 win at Berwick Rangers a few days ago.

The boy did have a set-back to his short Newcastle career late last year, and as with other youngsters Haris Vuckic and Tamas Kadar,   he was injured and missed a lot of  last season.

But he’s fit again and we look forward to seeing him come through the ranks, hopefully rather quickly this season.

Here’s Yven’s facebook page if you’d like to leave him a message of support.

Comments welcome.

That isnt his page, just a fan page.

He came to the club with alot of potential like, hope he stays fit and starts to challenge for a first team spot.

Abeid looked class against darlo like, he’ll definately break into double figures in terms of first team games next season.

@eaststand – Eh? Same as he always was mate, still at Lille.

Looks like he’s harder to tie down to a deal than Jose is.

I thought he had signed for the gooners too tbh.

You must mean the £35 mil spent on free signings, 5 years of wages and under ass heating for Ashley?

On a serious note and nothing to do with 35mill, Nzogbia, Gervinho, Eridinc, how much of a d**k Mike Ashley is or any other commonly talked about rumour,

Has anyone got any info on the news that Cabaye hasn’t made or is out of the US trip? Could be twitter crap but thought i’d ask the question anyway!

1 thing i’m sick of hearing this window
unfounded optimism. Colloccini has 2 years left on his contract and will be 30 in January, with the addition of those wages he will be sold next summer regardless of if he wants to stay or not.
