Yohan Cabaye did not get his visa on time to tour America with the Newcastle first team.
Yohan Cabaye – misses American your because of delayed visa
And the Evening Chronicle is reporting today that the delay was due to some unpaid dentist’s bill (?), but indeed Cabaye will get his visa soon, but it’s too late now.
The four times capped French International will now join Joey Barton, Nile Ranger, Xisco and James Perch as some of the senior players on Peter Beardsley’s Reserve team squad, for their tour of Holland.
A central midfield of Yohan Cabaye and Joey Barton could be worth seeing.
Speaking from Kansas City, this is what Alan Pardew told the Evening Chronicle today:
“We’ve already had word back that he will eventually get a visa, but it doesn’t help us, because we need it now. It’s a three-week process.”
“It’s one of those situations, but for us, it became very frustrating.” “There was no talking them around, and unfortunately the process was too long for us to rectify it.”
“It’s unfortunate that Cabaye’s not with us, but I’m sure it won’t take him long to show just what a class act he is.”
“I’m a disappointed at Yohan not being here, if I’m honest.” “It would have been nice to have him around this group.”
“It was on such a technicality – he really should have got a visa.”
The United States government doesn’t mess around with visas, and they never give many exceptions at all – that’s just the way they operate.
But maybe, in retrospect, Newcastle should have applied a bit earlier for the visas, but that’s a case of hindsight being 20-20 vision.
But we look forward to the Reserves results in Holland now, and we have to expect the lads to win every game.
Wonder if we will see that central midfield partnership of Barton and Cabaye?
