Chris Hughton Steps Up Bid For Newcastle Striker

News late last night that new Birmingham City manager Chris Hughton wants 20 year-old Nile Ranger at the Birmingham club.

Nile Ranger – wanted by Birmingham City

Chris has a bit of a striker crisis at Birmingham right now, with three of their strikers, Cameron Jerome, Marlon King and Nikola Zigic all unavailable for the start of the season.

Jerome has an injured ankle, King has a knee injury and Zigic is to have surgery for a hip and groin problem, which has been persistent over the last several months.

Birmingham have just three strikers available at the moment,  in new signing Adam Rooney and youngsters Akwasi Asante and Jake Jervis.

Blackpool had agreed terms for a permanent deal for the 20 year-old London striker recently, but Nile could not agree terms with Blackpool, and the deal fell through.

So we’re not sure whether Birmingham will now move for Ranger on a season-long loan deal, which were the reports of a few days ago, or whether Chris Hughton will try to take Nile Ranger to Birmingham on a permanent basis for around £1.5M.

Hughton knows all about Nile Ranger, and he brought the lad through the Tyneside club over the last two seasons, until Chris was surprisingly sacked by Newcastle owner Mike Ashley in early December.

Comments welcome.

Think the conversation would be more like

Pardew – “I think Nile, has potential. He is our future number 9 and will produce big things this season.”

    Ashley – ” Where’s my KFC……….and sell him”

Nah stayed in Newcastle n-s-w over the millenium, married in QL Hervey bay while I was there, love the east coast there except the gold coast lol…. my age too old, prefer the sunshine coast which is a lttle more north.
Their summer now and it’ll get bleeding hot in QL, beware, lots of jelly fish near the shore 😉

Ranger seems to be a skillful but he must add goals to his career as a centre-forward or second my opinion he is not a Premier League player, he must improve his football a lot and maybe the championship will be good for him. I wish him good luck at his new club if he leaves.if he add goals to his career then he will have a brighter future.Jose Enrique said what all of us Newcastle United fans have already known, I mean, Newcastle United will fight for survival next season, unfortunately for us that is the truth. I would be glad if Newcastle United finish 11th-14th next season. We shall not play to be that champions or to qualify for an European competition.I am sorry if most of you don`t agree with me but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we as fans must be rational too.I just hope that Newcastle United will be able to stay in the PL.Nobody knows if Ben Arfa and Barton will be able to play all the matches and in my opinion Newcastle United are completely dependant on Barton and Ben Arfa.

Exchange rate is shot now m8, you’ll not get many dollars to the pound now so fuel will probably seem expensive for the amount of travelling you’ll need to do.
Bought a car there and did like 3 days solid driving at a time just to get somewhere, it’s a huge country.
QL should be ok temp wise atm and north but south may be classed as chilly to the soft aussies. lol

    have fun m8, it’s a great country.

Don’t really care about Ranger – retained, sold, loaned out.. whatever.

Check Jose out eh! That’s curtains on his toon career:( Ashley is very sensitive to criticism from outsiders, let alone valued 1st team players.

I think those who are still on here denying the negative, toxic, lying, black hearted, undermining nature of Ashley’s spiteful regime are bordering on being unhinged themselves.

Shearer, Keegan, Nolan, Routledge, Carroll, and now Enrique – what THE FUNK will it take for you to wake up?

Loan Ranger this season. If he doesn’t improve at Birmingham, they can keep him, for all I care. There comes a time when chances run out and opportunities have to given out elsewhere.

Manchester City’s Mario Balotelli was taken off in the first half against LA Galaxy for an apparent lack of respect towards his opponents.

The 20-year-old Italian striker was through on goal but instead of shooting, opted to drag the ball back before backheeling it wide of the goal

LEGEND – reminds me a bit of Asprilla

José’s most recent account was genuine.

I’m always surprised by the number of Ashley loving amateur accountants on here.

They’d rather the owner balanced the books than put his hand in his very deep pockets and buy us some star players.

It seems the players have got Ashley worked out.

Lets hope the book-balancing mugs start to see the light.

Spend some money cheapskates, or get out of our club and let someone who genuinely want to move us forward buy NUFC.
