While in America it turns out that Alan Pardew has been working on getting some transfer business completed.
Mevlut Erdinc – on his way to Tyneside?
The news is that Newcastle are in dire need of another striker, and of course a left back is needed to replace Jose Enrique.
We have to think the striker is PSG’s Mevlut Erdinc, and if this 24 year-old arrives on Tyenside soon, we think he will be very well received by Newcatsle fans.
Asd we reported earlier today, 19 year-old Newcastle reserve and Welsh Under-21 international Paul Dummett, is traveling across to replace Ryan Taylor in the squad.
It will be a good experience for the local lad, and he’s one of the many up-and-coming youngsters on Tyneside at the moment.
And Newcastle just need a few of these youngsters to come through big time, and we’ll be in great shape.
Alan Pardew had this message this morning to the Newcastle fans:
“We’re waiting on a couple of decisions, and that will determine where we go next and what we do.”
“We’re waiting for those to come in. Obviously, we’re still pursuing one or two players.”
Let’s hope we can get Mevlut on Tyneside when the squad returns in the middle of this week, and a left back is being brought in because Jose Enrique will be shipped out as soon as Newcastle can get a buyer for him – his time at Newcastle is nearly over.

Comment #5Erdinc hopefully will accept the paycut and sign up, if he does, that will signal his intentions – he wants to play, if he doesn’t, then he is not the type of player we want here.
As far as Enrique goes, I dont care where he goes, aslong as we get a decent sum and decent replacement for him.

Comment #6Erding will be a very good signing. Hope we seal him quick. And i think he will be the last signing for us.

Comment #7I am very disappointed with losing enrique and probably Barton we have a small squad as it is. We are losing our most important players and replacing them with un provens! This is sheer idiocy!

Comment #8I say bring in Enriques replacement now whether he stays on for this season, he can sit on the bench or play for the reserves if we can’t get rid of him now. I mean, we have plenty of money for him to rott on the bench. 35m I believe to be used on him and Alan Smith to sit out their final years. Atleast, Enrique has given us a good 4 years worth. Make a massive effort and get Erdinc in asap. He’s the player we need the most. Also, it’s a shame we are going to miss out on N’Zogbia because he’s a snip at 9.5m, considering we sold him for 7m two years ago, I think that deal was dead as soon as we got Marveaux.

BTW excellent Telegraph article about Jose http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/sport/lukeedwards/100017958/jose-enrique-wants-whats-best-for-him-not-newcastle-united/?
Hits the nail on the head (as Rout would say!)

Comment #13I really hope Ashley & Llambias see sense and offer Joey Barton a decent contract extension.
Barton – Tiote – Cabaye would be so good in a 4-3-3 or as the CM’s in a 4-5-1.
Crazy to let him leave on a free next summer.
If the club’s been run as a business.

Comment #15Barton is going nowhere. How many times has the guy got to say it????? He’ll play this last season and hope that his talking is mostly done on the pitch and he wants to be rewarded with a new contract. If he is offered one that is fair on both parties I have no doubt he’ll sign it. Remember, the club can not force him out even if they wanted too. He’s got a contract and he’s well within his rights to see it out.

Comment #19I for one wouldn’t want KK back at our team. He’s a quitter. I understand he was underminded when DW was here, but he is a quitter. I say let’s stick with Pards and give him a chance, he has got good feedback from the Hammer fans, they liked the way he plays attacking football, and if it doesn’t work out in a year or two we should seriously look at Lee Clark. I like what he’s doing over there in Huddersfield and it’s only a matter of time until a bigger club starts sniffing him out. And, of course he’s a Geordie. It’s a shame Shearer won’t go out and get some experience as a manager for one of the lower league teams cos I think he’d be great. Obviously we had no chance with him the season we got relegated and it’s unfair on him to just judge him based on that team.

Comment #21Does anyone actually believe what Pardwho says – I have never in all my 40 years of following Newcastle had such a dislike and mistrust of a manager. EVERYTHING he says has a double meaning, he changes statements like most people change underwear ( the too big a squad/we havea paper thin squad statement within a day or so of each other still mistifies me) We need to add these two signings ontop of what we have however I can still see Jose/Smith/Routledge/Ranger going. Team morale appears to be low – this is the most depressing pre season I can ever remember. This season Ashley could have pushed us on big style but it will not happen. Premier survival on the cheap and then he will sell for a big a profit as possible. We have Ashley/Lamearse/Pardwho for the forseable future and they do not care what we think. Depressing I know but we have to live with it – I am still looking forward to the new season and I defo get butterflies when I approach SJP – EVEN AFTER 40 YEARS. Howay the Lads.

Comment #32I think we will buy 2 quality players and maybe 1 or 2 for the future.
I am a bit sick about how good or bad the club is run; the fact is that there are good things and there are some bad things
POSITIVE:
1. the financial mess left by Shephard is almost gone.
2. the model they use by getting younger players is IMO a very good thing
3. the players who we brought in are all quality players (not only this season). Gosling, Ben Arfa, Willo, Abeid, Cabaye, Marveaux, Ba (some on here keep saying he is a ticking ‘knee’ bomb, but how much truth is there in those medicals and like it or not he is a quality striker hich was proven in a very weak EPL team last season)
4. they do transfer business behind the scenes (Tiote, …)
5. they accept ridiculous offer (35 million) for a player who would not have any worth in the current team (if you look at tactics)
6. they try to offer new contracts for our better players (Tiote, Enrique, Barton, Nolan, …). It’ s not their fault that they don’t want to sign the contract.
7. they do not spend loads of money on transfers (we brought in pure quality for very little money).
NEGATIVE
1. they should more communicate with the fans, cause they have caused lots of messes in and around St. James the last couple of years…
2. it’s positive that they do not spend a lot of money on transfers, but sometimes they should take a risk (gamble) if they can buy a top player
3. the sports direct logos on our stadium
4. they should try harder to get rid of the big earners who do nothing at our club (Smith and Xisco come in mind)…

Comment #34There you go again – believing the gobshite Pardew. I told you a month ago that N’Zogbia wasn’t comong here – the truth! I told you on Saturday that Ben Arfa wouldn’t be back until early September at least – the truth from within the camp. Pardew knew that on Friday, but led you lot to believe otherwise – rancid liars! Well done Jose, every word the truth. The players are totally pissed off with this farce of a tour, with the incessant travelling across time zones and the heat – they are on their knees. i’m told that Pardew will have to force some to play against Leeds – more injuries after that game then. He’s already shitting himself about Ba’s knee.

Comment #35Enrique could be painting himself into a corner. As yet there are no takers for his services and now he has a go at the employers and the new signings (good for team spirit !!!)
Possible new employers might be put off by his internet activity. If he does this at Newcastle he could do the same again.

Comment #37Just ben told by one of those that escorted Ben Arfa back from the States, that Erdinc wants to stay in France, and who can blame him. Why would anyone half decent want to come to a 2nd rate club in a footballing backwater like the north-east, when the players who are already here are telling all and sundry that it’s a small minded unambitious little outfit, with a crap manager and 3rd rate coaching and medical set-up.

Comment #40Lets just be honest and look from Enriques perspective.
Newcastle have sold there best players and replaced with free transfers. They have no intention in spending any or indeed very little of the 35 million they cashed in Carroll. A total lack of ambition.
We are not investing to be a top 6 club, we are simply happy to remain in the premier league and line MA pockets.
Sorry but that is the truth of it!
