It seems that Swansea City have failed in their bid to sign Newcastle right winger Wayne Routledge.
Wayne Routledge – couldn’t agree terms with Swansea
Swansea had agreed a £1.7M fee with Newcastle for Wayne, but it seems they could not agree terms with the player himself, and they have now turned their attentions to Middlesbrough’s Leroy Lita and Marvin Emnes.
Wayne is currently on the Newcastle Reserve tour in Holland, but a number of clubs are still interested in him, and over the weekend there was news that Wigan Athletic could want him as a potential replacement for Charles N’Zogbia.
And some Championship clubs still interested in Wayne include Leicester City, Cardiff City, and possibly Nottingham Forest,
And it could be that Wigan have now agreed a £9.5M fee with Wigan for the French International winger, but they will now have to agree terms with the player.
We’re not too sure if N’Zogbia wants to move to Villa, but one thing that’s certain is that Newcastle are out of the running, and that’s because they deemed the fee Wigan are asking for Charles to be too much.
But we sold him for about £7M to Wigan two years ago last January, and the lad has improved since then.
Go figure that one out.
