Newcastle got off to a great start to the transfer season when they got four new players in by June 18th.
Mevlut Erdinc – is he coming or not?
The Magpies were quick off the mark this summer with Yohan Cabaye, Demba Ba, Mehdi Abeid and Sylvain Marveaux all being signed up.
But since then nothing, and Newcastle have failed to bring Kevin Gameiro in, and we’ll know within the next couple of days whether new striker target Mevlut Erdinc will be coming to Tyneside or not.
Paris Saint-Germain striker Mevlüt Erdinç has been the top striker target for around five weeks now, and it seems that Manchester City left-back Wayne Bridge is the top target at left back to replace Jose Enrique.
Newcastle have 33 days left (approximately) to bring players in this summer, and presumably to unload players like Jose Enrique, Wayne Routledge and Nile Ranger.
This is what the Newcastle manager said today about the upcoming transfer activity:
“The merry go-round will then start thick and fast.” “I hope to have them in place in time for Arsenal.”
“That’s the motivation of Mike Ashley, Derek Llambias and myself, to get them in before Arsenal. But you can never say for definite.”
We’ll know within the next couple of days wether Erdinc is coming, but if he doesn’t arrive by say Sunday, shouldn’t Newcastle take the hint – and admit the player just doesn’t want to come?
