Alan Pardew will have almost a full squad to choose from for the game at Leeds United on Sunday.
Mike Williamson – likely to start on Sunday
Apparently Tiote is not available for Sunday’s game, as he has a visa problem and jetted into the Ivory Coast from Columbus, Ohio, to try to sort it out with the Embassy there, and we have no idea what the problem is.
Why have so many Newcastle players had visa problems this summer?
We’ll take a shot at the starting team for Sunday – so here’s a possible side Alan Pardew could start at Elland Road:
Simpson Coloccini (c) Williamson Enrique
Gosling Cabaye Barton Marveaux
With Mike Williamson not being on the American tour as his wife was giving birth to their third child, the former Watford defender will likely start alongside Coloccini, if Fab has fully recovered from his slight groin strain.
And Sunday’s game could be a good opportunity to partner Barton and Cabaye in central midfield, although Pardew may give the impressive 18 year-old Slovenian Haris Vuckic another chance to show what he can do.
Dan Gosling definitely deserves a start, after his excellent performance on Tuesday night, and he could be out on the right wing, or even in central midfield, and Sylvain Marveaux looked good again on Tuesday evening and is likely to start on the left wing.
It could also be a good time to see how Leon Best works with new signing Demba Ba, as Ameobi certainly seemed to have a good understanding with the Senegal striker on Tuesday night.
What’s your starting team for Sunday?
