Latest On Mevlut Erdinc Transfer

If you have read the local reports over the last couple of days, then the conventional wisdom from them is that Newcastle have given their top striker target, Mevlut Erdinc,  a deadline to say yes or no to joining Newcastle United.

Mevlut Erdinc – should decide by tomorrow?

And since those same reports say that Newcastle hope to have Erdinc on Tyneside by the end of the month, a reasonable person might come to the conclusion that the deadline is tomorrow – the last day of  July.

You can never really tell which news is true and which news is made up in the football press, especially during the transfer market, so sometimes you are forced to use just a little bit of logic.

And so that seems to be the situation Newcastle are in with Erdinc right now, and the 24 year-old will be playing  for Paris Saint Germain in the Emirates Cup in London this weekend.

We wonder if Newcastle officials will be down there?

There seems to be some kind of  disagreement between the two sides at the moment,  and it could be to do with Mevlut’s agent wanting a fee for the deal.

But apparently discussions were still going on yesterday between the two sides, so it could still happen, and we should know within a couple of days at most – one way or the other.

The Erdinc saga seems almost as long as the Jose Enrique saga, but of course it isn’t, it just seems that way.

Comments welcome.

Just hope he signs in next couple of days. Surely he can’t think that hes gonna play much with the new guys brought in at PSG.

Matt Derbyshire is available, the club should try for him if the Erdinc deal fail to go through.

It’s a terrible pre-season, so many promises made when Carroll was sold yet so little signings made in the pre-season.

What is frightening is that we appear to be only looking at Erdinc – there has to be better strikers out there than Shola, Lovers, Best and Ranger – the latter two are even up for sale.

Another tranfer window going down to the wire with a couple of players no one has heard of on loan on the final day – as well as loosing Barton, Enrique amd Tiote at the last minute

Its just frustrating that our defence was actually half decent last year and now our midfield is really strong we will just struggle to put the ball in the back of the net unless Best or Shola step up alongside side Ba.

Even sign Bellamy for 2 years! Little prick is still good.

I can’t understand why when you clearly have 30M from one of the biggest transfers in English football and you are one of the most hated owners ever, you don’t realise this is your chance to try and convince the fans you are going to spend! Only one summer window is needed for that afterwards things can go back to 5/7M a window.
The fans would love Ashley to spend this window and they think he should.
I don’t understand how he hasn’t noticed the trust he could gain by spending this money.

we need at least three players : striker, left back & right
    winger

the most important is striker, why we focus on Mevlut Erdinc.he doesn’t want to come.we don’t have time.
we should move the other target like Rodallega & Bryan Ruiz.

It’s sickening that smith will just sit on his wages. As someone else said I hope pardwho has the balls not to play smith and perch, but shows faith in tavernier and Vuksic, whose progress should not be getting stopped by those 2. Smith’s 60k a week would pay for someone decent to come in, like Long etc.

I think fans on here are finally realising that Ashley has got no intention of splashing big money.
Ive been saying it for 2 yrs now.
He is trying to run a big football club like he runs his sports shop.
Buying bargains in and selling on at a higher price somewhere down the line.is Ashley,s idea of making a quick profit.
Nothing wrong with that if some of it was being reinvested into the team, but it is not.
How can anyone be really optimistic about the fortunes of our club with this money grabber in control.
Dont be surprised to see 2 players leave on deadline day.
    I wish i could

why do people think big money signigs are the way to go. Surely to god, owen, luque, boumsong, smith etc have shown us we got spoilt and it’s not necessarily the way to go.

Abeid, Moyo, Cabaye, Marveux and Ba, not to mention Tiote and Ben Arfa are all very shrewd signings. If we can ship out the dead wood like Smith, Perch etc, then we have Krul, Vuksic, Tavernier, Ferguson , Sammy Ameobi etc all coming through.

Ok we have a mediocre manager and 2 particularly unpleasant people in Ashley and Llambias, but failure isn’t really an option for them as being in Europe promotes the Sports Direct brand.

Potentially we have the most exciting young team in the league.

    Rotonda

This is basically a game of whack – a – mole. We can try our best to hit the mole and knock some sense into it. But no matter how hard we try… these moles will always pop back out from another hole and repeat the same old stories over and over again.

I’ve finally taken time out to see what all the fuss is about regarding Mevlut Erdinc. Just watched him on youtube and have to say I’d be well pleased if he came to play for us. Looks to me that he is a real trier and scores good goals with either foot and head. Very exciting looking player that would be perfect for us.

To be fair tho cheik think about I ashleys been here for about 4 season one season we wentr down which I thinks the best thing to happen to us and him financial wise he played a blinder by strippin the dead wood and fatcats but we come back up with 60 million extra for tv rites then we get 30 million off carroll and he is consistently not spending a penny the mans bussiness minded thru and thru we need some one to come in football minded and be chairmen or else what’s the point yes nufc is a bussiniess but if we want to make reall money we need to spend its really unfair on the fans watchin all our best players leave just a few weeks after we buy our season tickets it just pisses me off…sorry if it got confusing what I said
