James Perch Looking To Leave Newcastle This Summer

It’s hardly surprising that James Perch is looking to leave Newcastle this summer.

James Perch – will leave Newcastle this summer

James was signed by Newcastle last summer from Nottingham Forest, and at the time he was thought to be one of the better players in the Championship.

Perch was also a bit of a utility player, who could play anywhere along the back four, or even in defensive midfield.

But while Perch started the season in the Newcastle first team at right back, he was soon replaced by Danny Simpson, once Danny had recovered from his ankle injury, and James didn’t really get a look in at Newcastle for the rest of last season.

Perch is one of those honest players who just wants to play football, and it’s likely he will join a Championship club, and he could do a good job for any club who is looking to get promoted this coming season.

Both Cardiff City and Leicester City are said to be interested in the player, and could take him initially on loan,  with a view to a permanent deal, and that would be a reasonable deal for both clubs involved, and good for the player too.

There’s a high likelihood that Perch will have left Newcastle once September rolls around.

Newcastle are looking at the lower leagues for players they could bring to Tyneside, and who could potentially make the rather big step-up to Premier League football, but unfortunately, James was not able to do that.

But he can still have a good career in the Championship, and we expect James to get hooked up with a Championship club, and sooner rather than later.

Comments welcome.

Think he will do well again there, for me it was worth the gamble to see if he could make the step up, but was found wanting early on. Sure he will have no problems finding a new club

James Perch – official toon scapegoat (2010-2011). Who will be the mob’s piniada next year? Apart from Shola of course..

Dont think we should loan him – if he is not needed get rid permanent. Else you run the risk of hte move not working out and hte player returns with a year nearer to walking for free

Fitting name, Boater. He actually looks like a goat, and I remember his brilliant OG, when he couldn’t resist stooping to munch the grass.

At least he’ll always have a great record to his name. First ever Premiership player to be booked in his first 5 consecutive games. Immense.

And that was one hell of a diving header. Surely Stoke should try to sign him.

Sorry but how come no one is mentioning Pavone? – he has been ‘spotted’ at the club… deal has fallen through with blackburn and wiki says he is a toon player..

3 completely bogus bits of info,, but when added together.. it’s a half…

Biggest sign yet that the management feel Tav is ready. The fact we haven’t been seriously linked with a CB must mean Kadar is close too.

Perch isnt a bad player, he just isnt good enough atm for our squad, I thinhk in time he could become good but he’d never get into our squad soo its best off letting him go where he cvan actually play instead on not even making the bench for us… good luck to him!

Boater – I can confirm he was in town today. Either that or his doppelganger anyway.

Doesn’t make a great deal of sense to me that they’d give him a one year deal, unless there’s the option to extend, which you’d think there would be.

Canny player, but no world better, and probably nothing more than third choice behind Ba and Shola.

    Sell him to Reading:

    Perch + £4-5million = Shane Long (maybe?)

Long shot but Perch could be a great player for Reading looking to finish as high as possible.

Any more than £5million for long and we’d be getting robbed and Fatman wont be robbed.

He considers paying more than 50% of a players true value getting robbed ffs.
