It’s hardly surprising that James Perch is looking to leave Newcastle this summer.
James Perch – will leave Newcastle this summer
James was signed by Newcastle last summer from Nottingham Forest, and at the time he was thought to be one of the better players in the Championship.
Perch was also a bit of a utility player, who could play anywhere along the back four, or even in defensive midfield.
But while Perch started the season in the Newcastle first team at right back, he was soon replaced by Danny Simpson, once Danny had recovered from his ankle injury, and James didn’t really get a look in at Newcastle for the rest of last season.
Perch is one of those honest players who just wants to play football, and it’s likely he will join a Championship club, and he could do a good job for any club who is looking to get promoted this coming season.
Both Cardiff City and Leicester City are said to be interested in the player, and could take him initially on loan, with a view to a permanent deal, and that would be a reasonable deal for both clubs involved, and good for the player too.
There’s a high likelihood that Perch will have left Newcastle once September rolls around.
Newcastle are looking at the lower leagues for players they could bring to Tyneside, and who could potentially make the rather big step-up to Premier League football, but unfortunately, James was not able to do that.
But he can still have a good career in the Championship, and we expect James to get hooked up with a Championship club, and sooner rather than later.
