Joey Barton Can Leave Newcastle On A Free Transfer

Newcastle United have confirmed today that Joey Barton has been placed on the transfer list as a free agent.

Joey Barton – being kicked out at Newcastle – is one way of saying it

The player has been advised that he can leave Newcastle on a free transfer.

Well how’s that for losing £4M on the fee Newcastle could get for Joey?

The Daily Telegraph is reporting the decision was made by Managing Director Derek Llambias this morning, following talks with owner Mike Ashley after the player went public with his criticisms of both of them on his Twitter account.

Once again we see in the cool light of day the complete ruthlessness of this pair.

We told you that Twitter account would get Joey into big trouble, and of course he was asking for trouble by tweeting things again, after the game yesterday, and after he had earlier criticized the Newcastle hierarchy.

Joey has one year left on his contract but was hoping to see it out and become a free agent next summer, but Newcastle have made him a free agent right now, like they also did earlier this summer with Alan Smith.

Joey can now entertain some good offers for him, since clubs will have to pay nothing for a player who was probably Newcastle’s best player last season.

Kevin Nolan left rather quickly in June, and said over the weekend that derek LLambias had reneged on a verbal agreement for his new contract and Jose Enrique will soon leave, so this summer Newcastle have lost three of their top players in Barton, Nolan and Enrique, and we’re not even going to mention Andy Carroll.

What is going on?

    Brought it on himself.

Ed. we could only get £4m for him if someone offered it for him – which they didnt!

This is all about saving money on his wages and the fact that he cant control his mouth vs. the club.

Things are not looking good. With Rouledge and Barton so far this week, we are loosing numbers far too fast, without mentioning injuries!

OK so what happens if Mr Barton doesn’t agree personal terms with any of the clubs that might come in for him? He stays here for the season like he said he was going to and NUFC still have to pay him!!

Ashley just keeps on making mistakes! I thought he learned a hard lesson more than a year ago! Seemingly not. I know Barton was up for sale before for 1m, but this is just taking the piss now! He can leave on a free! I hope he sticks to Newcastle as he said he would and make that fat man pay him for each week whilst he continues writing babble on twitter. If he does go, I’d be interested to hear what he has to say about the hierarchy

The frightening thing about it all is 1. we sold Carroll, 2. We sold our leading goal scorer in Nolan, 3. We look to be losing our best player from last season. Now i am sorry to all you over optimistic folk out there but it does not look good for nect season. Which club in any league anywhere in the world gets rid of their best youngster, leading goal scorer and bet player from the previous season? KK was spot on when he said this…(skip the add.)

Seems like something he wanted. the 4 mil of a fee is kinda offset against the 3mil (+bonuses) in wages. great player on the field but far too negatively outspoken

Sorry to repost this but I am more angry with barton about this:
As much as i want ashley to go, I cant help thinking that this is what Barton wanted all along. He might say the right things to feed the mob mentality but the bottom line is he’s a GREEDY MERCENARY C**K

One good season he gave us, Remember when he refused to give up his salary when he went to prison – We all loved him then eh?
You cant slag your employers off in public and expect to get away with it.
F**K off Joey! a Legend in his own head

It’s like Llambias has gone to the teacher as Joey was saying mean things about him.

With a month of the window still left I’m now trying to look ahead to how Newcastle will descend further into farce.

Will Alan Smith be given a new long term contract? Will James Perch be given the number 9? Will cwarr be appointed as the club’s new press secretary?

You really couldn’t make it up.

He is worth around 6 – 8 million in todays market

Call me daft but does this actually change anything? Barton has said he doesnt want to and wont be leaving the club, he’s been placed on a free transfer so nobody has to pay for him but he is still our player

Who’s to say he’s going to agree personal terms if he doesnt want to leave?

No player has any right to speak about his employers like that.
If i found out the one of my employees spoke like that about me, i’d kick him/her out and make sure that person had a rough time getting back into swing of things again.

I’m sick of this club forcing our best players to leave.

Barton has been blatently slagging off those in power on Twitter, but who can blame him they way he is being treated? Out of the current squad he’s been our best player for two seasons and he’s been right to vent his anger and frustration at the way this club is ‘taking things forward’.

Well now that’s yet another step backwards. Thank you Newcastle United. How do they expect us to compete for anything next season?
