It seems that Newcastle now consider Joey Barton to be a bad influence on the team, and it’s unlikely the Liverpudlian will ever play again for Newcastle United.
Alan Pardew – Barton challenged the manager’s authority
And news this morning that Joey Barton has been told to train alone, and that’s hardly surprising.
We have to remember after his altercation over two years ago in the Anfield dressing room with then manager Alan Shearer, he was banned by Alan Shearer, even from the training ground.
That was after Joey managed to get himself sent off in the game at Liverpool, and therefore missed the last three crucial games of the relegation season,
Joey is still tweeting on his twitter account today:
“Made to train alone today, how predictable………”
It’s predictable because Pardew doesn’t want any more rants from a player who has been cut loose by the Newcastle club, and while we are not big fans of Mike Ashley or Derek Llambias, Joey is hardly blameless in all of this.
Arsenal and Tottenham are said to be in the running for the player, and we’re sure now that Newcastle will be happy enough to see him leave Tyneside as soon as possible, and he has become a bad influence with both the youngsters and the new players at the club.
Joey carries a lot of baggage of course, and after doing so well these last two seasons on Tyneside, when he seemed to get his life and football career back on track, he seems to have let himself down on Sunday and over the last few months.
But we would expect Joey to leave Newcastle within the week, and it’s doubtful he will ever play for Newcastle United again.
Life goes on – and so does Newcastle United – hopefully to bigger and better things, but yes, it’s hard to think that way at the moment.
But maybe we can hammer Gateshead tonight?
That would be a good first step into the future, and then maybe we can annihilate Fiorentina on Saturday?
Just a thought.
