Newcastle Agree Fee To Sell Enrique To Liverpool

Newcastle have seemingly agreed a fee of around £5M for Spaniard Jose Enrique to finally move to Liverpool.

Jose Enrique – fee agreed with Liverpool?

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the deal should be completed this week, so it could be that by the time Newcastle meet Fiorentina on Saturday afternoon at St. James’ Park, both Joey Barton and Jose Enrique could have left Newcastle.

The Daily Mail is reporting the fee is £10M and the Daily Mirror is reporting the fee is £5M, so let’s hope the Mail is accurate.

Enrique was fined two weeks wages 10 days ago in America, after criticizing the Newcastle owner Mike Ashley via a tweet for his lack of ambition, and Joey Barton has been given a free transfer by the club, and also fined two weeks wages for a similar tweet he sent out after the 3-2 defeat at Leeds United last Sunday.

Newcastle will be wanting to get both players out of the club quickly, and presumably the powers that be at Newcastle will need to bring new players in to replace both Enrique and Barton – we hope.

And Newcastle are still after a striker, after having been bogged down in their pursuits of Kevin Gameiro and Mevlut Erdinc for weeks and weeks, with no success.

There’s still time for Newcastle to reinvigorate the squad before September rolls around, and if the Enrique deal goes through, Newcastle will have so far made £7M in the transfer market this summer, and that’s £12M if Jose goes for  £10M.

So money presumably should not be a problem for the Tyneside club – we hope.

Comments welcome.

Ed Harrison: “The man who never sleeps”.

There’s also a £6 million fee said to be agreed with Liverpool, with bonus/installments increaisng it to £10 million.
Lets hope we can get this whole saga over and done with.

So much for wanting Champions League football.

Chumpions League is what he’ll get.

So I reckon we have £42 million to spend in this transfer window, with 3 weeks to blow the lot.

We’ll be lucky if we get a couple of frees for that much

if N’Gog is part of the deal then there can be not doubt that MA hates every one of us.

I was going to say Mousa Sow instead of ‘He who shall not be named’ but we’ve got the same chance of getting him

Couldnt give a sh1t if it was £5m, hardly any of it will be reinvested in the team.

We will try for Taylor for £1m or Warnock on the cheap.

    Ashley out now!

    Hi guys.

The club will not pay anything for any player. Don’t try to get my hopes up either. I expect nowt from this board. We have brought in free players, and promoted youth/reserve players to the 1st team.

Now that Enrique is going, and with Ferguson injured, who should be our #1 Left Back? And who is his backup?

Oh yes, i’m well aware bud, but you know Ed is going to make more posts in the next 8-10 hours or so from now 😉

If the £10 million story about Enrique is true, then thats a good fee, and will hopefully loosen to pockets of MA at long last…

    Oh dear, oh dear.

So thats two left backs required now. Jonas will be our left back guaranteed.

Do we just enjoy selling our best players to Liverpool, I would rather he went anywhere else. So thats our players needed number up to at least 6. By my reckoning we have at least 40-50m now then. Or have the frees ate away that money.

So enrique and carroll at Liverpool. Awesome times. God its depressing to be a NUFC fan at the moment. I wouldn’t care if I felt that we were going to be able re-invest but we wont.

We have well and truely been conned with talk of Gameiro and Gervinho etc, we had no intention of splashing out serious money, we are looking for free’s or bargain based signings.

    Ashley just go careful…
