It’s not a good time for Newcastle fans right now, but thanks to reader Paulo Martins and his Portuguese friends, here’s a video of Newcastle United and some of the resasons why we all still love the club.
Paulo said he made the video because he wanted to inspire Newcastle United fans around the world – and it looks to me like he achieved his goal.
We’ll come again – believe me!

Comment #44Nice little interview with Cabaye if you haven’t seen it:
http://www.nufcblog.org/2011/08/cabaye-on-newcastle-people-there-live-for-football/
Season before last he had 15 goals, 5 before that and 7 before that, so “where are the goals coming from?” shouldn’t be looked upon too negatively I don’t think.
He has great technique and regardless of what Mr. Barton thinks, if he’s more accurate than Joey as it may seem, so-be-it and he should take set pieces.
Marveaux got 10 goals the season before last too. Big Demba got 7 since January of course. I’m sure Sammy Vuckic and Abeid as impact players will nick a few too.
I’m not saying they’re definately going to score of course, but hey, that can’t be a guarantee with anyone, but I’d certainly prefer them to other transfer dross which is floating about. Just need Barnetta, or similar, a striker and left back now as a minimum. I hope we get them, as I’m getting very impatient.
Great clip on the video; “the badge on the front is more more important than the name on the back.”

Comment #46Why the talk of a new owner? I say stick with Ashley, he’s building a team for the future. A club that’s financially secure. We’ve a stronger team this year. If JB & JE leaves, MA will strengthen again. It’s a month left of the window, why panic? Every other year we’ve waited for the last day to buy players, this year we’re getting em in early thanks to thorough scouting. How many clubs have bought like crazy, part from 5’1and, ManUtd, L’pool? We’re in a great position. Keep the faith, top 8!

Comment #48Proof that Ashley is asset stripping the club. Its not about financial prudence nor following good business practices because if he was he would be communicating with his clients (i.e us) WAKE UP and realise what is happening to the club. Until then everything else is semantics. What we do about it is up to someone better than I or perhaps richer to solve.

Comment #50Quite interesting this table. Note how the top five are perceived to be progressing while those clubs not do not invest are struggling – includes Arsenal.

I wouldn’t exactly say Arsenal are struggling considering they have CL football and have a huge draw for players worldwide especially youngsters

Thats who I want to see come in, all realistic in terms of they would all be reasonably low transfers fee, wages would not be an issue with any of them, all are young so fit into our model………………..wont happen i know, but its nice to dream once in a while

Comment #59oh dear -where have all the fantacists gone who villified me and 1 or 2 others who told you after the Carroll sale what was happening at your club? I’m being told very strongly that Pardew is on the brink of walking out. Didn’t take too kindly to being ORDERED by the evil tw-t Lambsarse not to speak to the press yesterday – can’t speak until he’s been primed what to say. This club is now total shit!

If the numbers were in green in stead of red, and Newcastle were top of the table and a few words about how good the club was being run how would you have interpreted those tables?

Comment #67Ochytoon – your fanbase is being eroded as you speak, and if you were a regular, you would know my source. Have NEVER given incorrect info on here yet, and a lot of you know that. I’ve been on this blog for over a year mate and if you think Lambias is evil then I’d love to hear what you think about the syrian government etc.
I never said he wasn’t a liar btw and by reverting to insults its quite clear you have nothing to back up your argument so I’m guessing your source is the local pub yh?

Comment #70Fair point but I think the Gooners out of the traditional top four would be under the most pressure of losing that status. Cant see Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City under threat. Liverpool and Spuds will push hard again.
@Eastander – there are other factors than investment – your scouting network, who you buy, your manager and the politics at your club. Appreciate you are alluding that despite West Ham investing in the team they got sent down but they had Grant as manager and the club was run by Gold and Sullivan who basically made a poor fist of it.
What you can’t disagree it is the cold hard statistics we have a net loss on spending. You could argue we are scouting better I think the likes of Tiote is the exception rather than the rule.
I guess Newcastle is swimming against the tide with its business model. Like I said in previous posts judge where we are come 1st Sept or even more important at the end of May 2012. The rest as I say is semantics.

Comment #71http://www.footballfancast.com/2011/08/football-blogs/joey-barton-first-class-twit
Can I ask one question here?
When Shear was in charge, Barton was given a straight red card against Liverpool and subsequently went on to tell Shearer that he was useless and did not know what he was doing, Shearer banned Barton from the club for the last three games of the season and no doubt he would have sold Barton if he had remained in charge, so is it OK for Barton to do the same thing against Pardew?

Comment #72My source is a member of my own family who is legal representative to 3 first team squad members, and who gave me all the correct information that I have been passing on to you all year, as regulars on here know only too well. Pardew has asked for a meeting with evil Llambsarse today to get certain assurances. They may even be talking as we speak. At least Assad shhots the buggers in the open, Llambsarse and Ashley are stabbing you all in the back and still some of you can’t feel a thing. What better source do you want than the players themselves ? Harper and Simpson next. Where’s Tiote?

Thats a good point and if infact he has insulted Pardew then I feel he needs to go. However, the way Ashley has conducted this is not good for the clubs image and makes it look as if he is trying to silence Joey.

I don’t usually read your posts but fair enough. However, once again its not a direct source, more like a friend of a friend type thing. Not to discredit you or anything. Whats more, the club haven’t confirmed anything so for all we know Pardew is getting on with his job or he could be about to leave as your source claims. I guess we will find out in the coming weeks what is really going on.
