There’s No Way Barton Will Join Celtic

Joey Barton was linked with Glasgow Celtic yesterday.

Joey Barton – in talks with Celtic – no way

But surely this must be pure paper talk,  because Joey has often said he wants to stay in the Premier League and would not do as his pal Kevin Nolan did and drop down a division to England’s second division.

And there are even reports today saying he is in talks with Celtic.

But why Joey would want to go up north, where the Scottish Premier league is hardly a strong league, we don’t know.

And we expect Joey is looking to at least match the wages he’s been getting at Newcastle these last four season which is over £60K/week, and surely there’s no way the Scottish giants could match that salary.

And Celtic manager has said as much today, when he talked about the supposed link with Barton:

“I would have to re-mortgage the club!”

We think Joey would jump at the chance of joining a big club like Arsenal or Tottenham and play in Europe.

Of course, if you followed his tweets yesterday, and there are a lot of them these days, he indicated he may just stay at Newcastle, but we don’t think that’s a possibility.

Yes, it’s within his rights to stay ion Tyneside for the next year, but we think Mike Ashley is so furious at the player, he would freeze him out at Newcastle, and we think Joey has already played his last game for the club.

If Joey and Jose Enrique leave before September 1st, we will have lost four of our very best players this year, Andy Carroll, Kevin Nolan, Joey and Jose.

And those are the players that Alan Pardew last January told Mike Ashley he wanted to keep and have Newcastle sign up on long term contracts.

So that probably says something about how well the two men are working together, arm in arm, or even if they share a joint vision for the club.

We know Alan Pardew wants to make Newcastle successful again, but we have no idea what Mike Ashley really wants, since it’s well over 18 months since he last spoke to the Newcastle fans, about anything.

What a way to treat your customers.

It’s not good.

the reason why barton might chose to stay at toon is they might be forced to sack him, thus having to pay off the remainder of his contract, an amount not to be sniffed at

I agree – No way they would be able to afford him plus he would be sent off in nearly every match. I think he is a clever guy and prob will just stay and make AP life a hell rather than leaving for Stoke… jaysus Stoke!!

We have no idea what Mike Ashley wants? How about to make money?!
According to the Journal we’re in talks with Barnetta, if we sign the players we need ie at least him, a striker and a lb then I’ll eat every hat in the North East!
Oh and apparently we’re after Rob Green as well, don’t need him, don’t want him! So saying that it’ll probably actually happen!

@Xavi – Barton doesnt pay the electricity bill or the green keepers fees… or the staff that serve beer every saturday… he is just a player and no-one has the right to slag off NUFC publicly especially when they are playing for them…

Barton could stay, sit on his rump, pick up his wages – just like Mr Smith!!!!!

I cant see him doing that as, long term, it does him no favours in achieving whatever ambitions he has left to play European Football.

According to various reports this morning, there are rumours of a “Truce” being declared between Bartoon and Pardwho to see if they can reconcile their differences and Barton stays at the Toon, as a player for the final year of his contract!!

Knowing Newcastle – anything could happen!!!

can’t wait till Joey and Jose leave… both good players, but have become rotten apples… we know what that does to the bunch… saw it happen two years ago and I don’t want to go through that again.
my only wish for this season is to have a TEAM of players who want to play for NUFC.
Us fans don’t realize the damage we do being so negative.

Outside of football Joey has a life …

Nice house, golf club memberships …

His g/f is pregnant – going to hospitals – she has doctors, friends and support …

I’m sure he’s happy on 60K a week and not disrupting his life until the baby is born.

    Quite right too.

“Barton dragging us through mud I can’t believe people can’t see”
God almighty. He’s virtually quoting the Newcastle-hating rags – and he’s too sodding stupid to see.
    The rags are loving this.
The same turds who believe supporters to turn up in 44,000 to 52,000 crowds are “delusional” to believe we should be in the top 6, are doing their usual brainwashing, and some, like the quotee just repeat it like bloody parrots.

    I guess Joey is back in the squad for this weekends Fiorentina game. We’ll field a strong side;
    Krul
    Simpson – Taylor – Coloccini – Enrique
    Barton – Tiote – Cabaye – Jonas
    Best – Ba

No ways in hell mate, Barton IMO is probably in the top 4 English central midfielders in the prem league mate, if he didnt have such a gift for the gab, or running around like he was part of fight club, he would walk into that England team…Fact!!

We need to focus as fans on WHO does want to play for us and cares i.e. Watch Vukcic goal against Leeds again – Watch the difference in celebration between Cabaye and Barton – ONe puts their hands up and runs to celebrate and the other puts their head down and walks back to the centre circle… we DO NOT need him and he KNOWS it… Tweet away and that is all he has left. He can cross a ball but most of us on here could hit Carroll big ugly head with a cross….

He gave his opinion, none of us know what the truth is. Personally, I’d prefer it if he kept them to himself, rather than dragging our name through the mud AGAIN. He’s exploiting the fans’ hatred for the owner to come away clean and they’re lapping it up. It’s funny, if anyone believes what the club have to say, they’re deluded or stupid, but when Barton opens his mouth it’s “the truth”.

Try to remember what this man is. If you can’t, you just have to google his name to get a recap of his performance over the last four or five years.

Davies, i think the issue here is that we helped to straighten out Barton, and he helped himself too. The result is that we had one of the best central midfielders in England in our team, and there was no sign that he was going to get worse. Only a few weeks ago he was praised for his work with the youth team. If we had spend some more money, as MA had promised, none of this would have happened. im my opinion. So it we had got Zog, Erdinc et al, I’m sure Barton would have been impressed and not lost his rag. He wasnt losing his rag in a half decent team last year, but once he blows his nut, guys like you drag up his past problems, instead of looking at MA who still only shops for cheapies, and causes us all this dismay by lacking any real ambition. Barton may be a mouthy so and so , but investment and good management from the top would have stopped this. But guys like u , Felipe and others will let MA sh1t on the pitch , and still say the soil needed fertiliser. Wake up man.
