Capello Wary Of Barton After Newcastle Disturbances

England will play Holland at Wembley on Wednesday night, in preparation for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Wales at the beginning of  September.

Joey Barton – best midfielder in England?

How’s about International games just 4 days before the Premier League season starts, for possibly getting some of your best players injured?

And it looks like our own Tim Krul will be in goal for the Dutch side in that game, so we’ll keep our fingers crossed that Tim  doesn’t get injured.

It turns out that Fabio Capello was impressed with Joey Barton’s form last season for Newcastle, but he has some doubts and concerns about his temperament:

“He is a good player,” “But it is not a good moment to decide something about him. When a player is fighting with his club it is normal to stay outside of that.”

“He is a good player but he is a dangerous player because sometimes on the pitch you can end up playing 10 v 11. He might get sent off.”

Barton, 28, has been capped only once for England, against Spain back in 2007.

And since Joey has criticized many of the midfielders in the England team as not as good as him, like former Newcastle midfielder Scott Parker and  Manchester City’s Gareth Barry,  if Fabio did call him up for the England squad, it could cause some disturbances in that squad, and may not be good for the team spirit.

And last weekend Joey caused a disturbance at the Newcastle club by tweeting criticisms of  owner Mike Ashley, but that was only after he had derided the Newcastle team in the dressing room after their 3-2 defeat at Leeds United.

And he initially  even refused to play for the team, when the Newcastle manager told him he would not be captain for the day.

Joey Barton is not welcome to train with the Newcastle first team squad, at least not until he decides to row the Newcastle boat in the same direction as Alan Pardew and the rest of the Newcastle players and coaches.

And as we know, that may never happen.

It’s been some pre-season for Newcastle, with today not being too much better, as torrential rain caused the game against Fiorentina at St. James Park to be abandoned after 64 minutes.

Comments welcome.

I’m unsure as to how Capello has the managerial record he does, seems a tad daft to me? Not a full shilling! Hardly the commanding, authoritarian we were led to believe.

We’ll get Wenger. He’ll be chucked out of Goonerville, come the end of the season.

I’d love him to manage England.

Pep would be an interesting one. Think if he came he’d want to re-shape english football from top to bottom. FA don’t like that hence why Clough never got the job

Wenger could be very good he would look to develop the youth

I’m sure Barton would be great for team morale if he was picked for England. I’m sure Lampard, Gerrard, Barry, Parker, and Henderson would be really pleased to see him after he publicly slagged them off. He should concentrate on football and keep some of his opinions to himself.

After sitting through AFC Wimbledon- Bristol Rovers today i wanted to cry. I know it’s league 2 but they just kept lumping it forward relying on set pieces. Based purely on size and physicality. The lack of skill and tactics is quite shocking really.

We are too hyped up, lets face it, England really aren’t that good. The media tip us to win games, we go in all cocky, then we draw or lose and the media has a field day. IMHO, Rooney should never play again for England after his outburst at the WC. Also the fact that he always plays shit for England and doesn’t seem to really care
