As we half expected Haris Vuckic gets another start this afternoon against Fiorentina at St. James’ Park.
The Slovenian has had an excellent pre-season and could well be coming through big time for Newcastle over the coming season – we certainly hope so.
Tim Krul as expected starts in goal, with Fraser Forster on the bench, since Steve Harper has a knee injury, and the back four is Danny Simpson, Steven Taylor, captain Fabricio Coloccini and want away Jose Enrique.
18 year-old Haris Vuckic – starts this afternoon
Dan Gosling, Yohan Cabaye and Jonas Gutierrez all start with young Vuckic in midfield, and a surprise up front with Leon Best partnering Peter Lovenkrands.
Youngsters James Tavernier, Nile Ranger and sammy Ameobi are ion the bench.
Teams:
Newcastle United: Tim Krul; Danny Simpson, Jose Enrique, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Steven Taylor; Dan Gosling, Yohan Cabaye, Haris Vuckic, Jonas Gutierrez; Peter Lovenkrands, Leon Best.
Substitutes: Fraser Forster, James Tavernier, Ryan Taylor, Mike Williamson, Sylvain Marveaux, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi, Nile Ranger.

Anyway, it is a bad news, for the game was important for preparation purpose. The next will be against Arsenal, so, they just got to train hard now.

Comment #325Just went on the utd forum redcafe (i know! let the abuse begin) to see what they thought about Obertan and the majority of them think that letting him go is a bad desicion. They all rate him highly it seems.

Comment #326Sounds like we did alright under difficult circumstances, not the game we wanted with the weather, what a terrible preseason! Never mind, stay positive, we have always had a good fighting spirit.

Yeah, probably because he’s young and full of potential, I think it’s a good move. It’s not like we’re paying silly money for him either,
