Joey Barton Tweets Again – This Time About Capello

Joey Barton cannot tweet about anything to do with Newcastle, including the the players or the management.

Joey Barton – tweets again

But to prove he still has the Twitter account, which could prove dangerous in the future, he tweeted today on what England manager Fabio Capello had said about him yesterday.

This is what Joey tweeted:

“On the plus side at least Capello knows who I am, I was beginning to think i was invisible #lookingatthepositives.

“Am going to take the fact he (Fabio C) used the words me and good player in the same sentence, all I want is the opportunity to prove the rest.

“My goal is to get in that Euro2012 squad and team for the Olympics, all I can do is more of what I did last season, if its enough its enough.

“To even be mentioned in the reckoning, is a testament to how far i’ve come since my troubled yrs, looking forward to pushing for a place.”

Capello had said he had been impressed with Joey’s form for Newcastle last season,  but it wasn’t a good thing that he was currently  in a furious row with his employers, and suggested Joey could be a dangerous player,

But the tweet is quite respectful, certainly compared to some of his tweets last week,  when he raged about Mike Ashley and Derek LLambias.

We suppose that’s a step forward. isn’t it?

Comments welcome.

No doubt he’s good enough, but after insulting half the team via twitter, it seems he’s only stopping himself getting in

Joey is a great player … I don’t believe a players personal life should judge whether he’s in the team or not… I’m sure Messi would still play for Argentina if he had the same history as Barton….

Does anyone know who exactly Pardew was scouting in Holland?? … I’m getting my hopes up thinking it was Sulejmani!

He’s a good player but some people on here go on about him like he’s Xavi or Iniesta. He’s not going to get ahead of Gerrard or Lampard in the middle or Lennon on the right and he’s criticised so many players in the England squad I can’t see him getting picked again.

Anyone whos watched scott parker last season and today must agree is shocking joeys not in there. For an england starter, parker couldnt even boss aron gunnarsson ( who is a decent player) and didnt control the game at all today.

He’s always been tweeting btw…… and cannot see anything wrong, like refs watch him on the pitch the whole of the worlds media and more are waiting for him to slip up….

goldfish bowl more like 24 hour watch!

As for the current England mf, although I like Gerrard I don’t think he or Lampard have deserved their places in the team alot of the time, total underachievers for England especially Lampard, even lampards goals don’t count 😉

I think Barton would be good in the england set up…
Back to the good old days of English football when you would sub in a bad boy, can be a game changer..

Freegiveaways as do people with the likes of Gerrard and Lampard. Massively overrated in my opinion, sling Terry, Parker and Barry in there as well. They’re all great motivators and inspirational people but make no mistake about it if Joey signed for man u or Chelsea this summer I garuantee he would get in the England squad. Capello is a Dick, he does select the papers player of the month. Half the England team have done things wrong and are bad role models. Rio drugs test? John terry affair affecting his performance and meaning Bridge chooses not to pay for England, Gerrards night club incident. Coles affairs and shooting someone with an air rifle, Rooneys rant at the fans who spent thousand to see SH1t performances at the last world cup. All of them have made mistakes yet are golden boys to the papers

Yeah I agree but none of those players have publicly criticised their England team mates. Barton has criticised Lampard, Barry, Parker, Carrick and Henderson. So if he gets called up to the England squad I don’t think those players would be too happy. It would just be bad for team morale. Maybe if he was a really great player like Messi or Iniesta it would be worth the risk of picking him, but he’s not.

nick_9… damned straight. The worst crime Barton has committed in Capello’s eyes is to play for NUFC. He is a club snob – just like Sven was.

Barton’s drive in midfield and balls out directness is just what the national set up needs now. He is Gerrard’s natural replacement and had a heck of a lot better season that Lampard, Barry, Milner and Carrick who all get in by virtue of the club they play for. The England fans would love him after years of watching toni and guy hair-cuts and tippy tappy fannies passing sideways for 90 minutes.

Yeah I agree entirely with what your saying, I can just imagine how awkward it would be and knowing Joey he would crack a joke about it or something. Lampard seems the sort to think he is above the rest, anyone see the tension between the two when we played Chelsea? I think Joey played better than him that day. If Joey got in the squad I could see a few hard tackles going in during training and an almight bust up. Shame

Free giveaways – I agree even a squeaky clean barton is not a guaranteed 1st team for england on technical ability – wilshere and gerrard for me. But if you want someone to put their foot on the ball and drive the team on to getting a result, alongside his work rate and range of passing – he’s exactly what the national set up needs.

Capello shouldn’t exclude any player on the grounds of what they MIGHT do wrong .. give them a fair chance.

To be fair to Barton his record for red/yellow cards is no better or worse than anyone in the england set up and Wayne Rooney is a massive liability.

Joey deserves the chance to prove himself for England he is the type of player to give 110% for his country despite the national team being absolutely rubbish.

For all those idiots telling him to leave the club on a free i think you need your head checking and that goes for Cashley as well…

Hopefully when he meets the heirarchy later in the week or whenever it is he can make by gons be by gons and “build these bridges” that people are talking about. At the end of the day he was our best player last season and he will probably be again this season.

He is an intelligent bloke and an intelligent footballer he would have (should have) been our captain this season if it wasn’t for twatter.

    Howay Joey and HWTL

If we sign Obertan, i find it tricky to find a place for joey in the team.

admittedly they’re 2 totally diff kinds of player, but gosling can step into the centre role, leaving Jonas and Vuckic fighting for the right wing….

    Ameobi Ba

    Gosilng,Vuckic, Barton as midfield subs

Has Tiote even got back in the country heard he was having visa problems and went to Ghana to sort it out as he couldn’t get in England?LOL! but my team sheet for saturday would be

    Jonas Cabaye Marveaux

Seen a post on the last thread that Pardwho was off to watch Peiters and Tovonein? Searched him on YT and he’s a cracking player, could be our striker problem.
Can’t see Obertan getting team sheet first week.
Hopefully we get this Peiters guy and sell Enrique had enough of him now!

Come on now! Who are you trying to kid? Cappelo aint bothered about you and the rest. He had overlooked Harper (thinks he’s too old “unlike” James) and you for over a year now. Seriously, think about it, if you were ever considered over the year which you played well, he could’ve contacted you or said something and drafted you in anytime after last season. But no. Only now then he found the time to reject you again. Why choose this timing now to say all that? I tell you why. Cappelo just found this timing convenient to reject you, that’s all. Please, he has a thing against Newcastle United since the first day he sat in the gaffa’s seat.

Obertan medical today, fingers crossed it all goes smoothly. being linked with some great players today, wont get my hopes up…..surprise me fatty lol

if we can obertan through the door, i think with a lb (if jose goes) and a decent striker, heard toivonen was being scouted by pards… if correct, he will be a great little player for us…. once again, hopes are tied down haha

we gots sum pacey wingers with a fair bit of trickery between them, more than we had last year…. im confident we can do better this season 😀

    ——-S.Taylor —Collocini —-Enrique
    —————Barton —Cabaye
    Gutierrez————————— Marveaux
I think, with Gutierrez sometimes having troble with the final ball, a 3-5-2 system would be more suitable for him and Marveaux to take advantage of their energy and running ability. Also, it helps us accomadate some of our better players.

    Harper/Forster, Williamson, Simpson, Gosling, Vuckic/Arfa, S.Ameobi, Ba

    Oberton—Vuckic—(Arfa when back)

Can also be easily changed to 4-4-2 if needed by bringing Simpson on.

Would find time for Best, Lovenkrands, Tavernier, Ferguson, Guthrie, R.taylor and Smith on the bench against lesser opposition.
