Lots Of Transfer Activity Ahead For Newcastle

We think there could still be lots of transfer activity involving Newcastle United before September 1st rolls around.

Jonas Gutierrez – Stoke interested?

Stoke City are after Joey Barton and   news in the Daily Mail today that Russian club,  Zenit St Petersburg, are ready to make Barton a  £68K/week offer to join them.

So it could well be that Joey will leave Newcastle, and if he’s not willing to row the boat in the same direction as Alan Pardew and the rest of the Newcastle players, that’s exactly what he should do.

News today that Liverpool have tied up a deal at  £5.5M for Jose Enrique, but you cannot trust these reports, because they’ve been like this for months and months about Jose. We’ll wait and see if this is the real deal.

Newcastle are after Dutch defender Erik Pieters and the deal could be completed soon, and it seems Newcastle will buy him independent of the status of Jose Enrique.

And with Newcastle having so many new wingers in Marveaux, Obertan, Gosling, Ben Arfa and young Sammy Ameobi, Newcastle may want to sell Jonas Gutierrez to get his high wages off the Magpies’ wage bill.

And there is news today that Stoke City may be interested in Jonas, but we don’t know if there is any truth in this news.

News today that Newcastle are back in for Eren Derdiyok, the 23 year-old Bayer Leverkusen striker, so things could get very busy on the transfer front, in these last 20 days of the window for Newcastle.

But it could also be that Newcastle lose Joey Barton, Jose Enrique and Jonas Gutierrez before September 1st rolls around, and they have been three very good players for the Magpies over the last couple of seasons.

What do you think about this?

Enrique having a medical at Liverpool according to lee ryder’s source. Think he’ll be gone by the end of the day and possibly we’ll sign Pieters too all in one day. That’ll be a first.

Barton is a Cok so id let him go, Jonas has next to no end product so he can go too and as for the Jose saga if he doesnt want to stay get rid of him aswell.

Cant see Barton moving to Russia like!

He could go to Stoke though, think they are offering him £60k/wk.

Enrique to liverpoo story has been published every day for the last month, so cant see any substance in it yet.

    Jonas won’t leave.

    My God…

Seriously, where does the thinking come from on this…

They’re good mates so if one leaves, they all will?! WTF!

Why? Jose goes to Liverpool and so Jonas wants to leave and so does Colo?

If that’s how fickle they are then let them go as they are earning stupid money with us at the minute and we’ll find someone else to get the job done!

Can’t see this being true, but even if it is, Barnetta’s in his hotel room waiting for our call!

Just realised that all of the players already shipped out or soon to be shipped out were part of the group of ‘senior’ players that were voicing their discontent at Hughton being sacked, and being replaced by Pardew, in the events after our 3-1 win against Liverpool. Guess the writing was on the wall for them from that game / interview when Nolan and Barton dedicated the win and champagne to Hughton. The only player still left fand not linked to a move elsewhere is Harper I think… I reckon Pardew injured him.

I dont have a problem now if Enrique leaves this has been going on too long and he would have signed if he wanted to stay. Jonas = sell him now and take the money he cant cross and just runs with his head down we have enough cover if he goes. Other signings i feel will come in.

This is what annoys me, when people see this type of lazy journo chat and then they start kicking off at the board etc.

If players want to leave because they have a close mate leaving, let them go!

What do people think is going to happen, all three of them will walk in to Liverpool and play together like they have done here?! Jesus!

Stoke have Pennant, why the HELL would they want Jonas to go to them?! Surely not for his ability to get balls into the grid like he can Ha!

They may bid for him but surly he wouldn’t leave for Stoke and his wage if it’s that high could they afford it? Sounds like total nonsense like most rumours that get regurgitated on here. Though that Dutch defender Pieters?? Looks like it has substance.

Personally I think it’s spot on our transfer targets are kept tighter lipped then a nuns ####, why should they be jepodised to appease certain “fans” (term used losely)

Jonas in black and White next season unless a Italian or Spanish team comes in.

Tbh 5.5m for Enrique is beyond a joke, I would definitely have driven the price up. Why do we never play the game.
He is probably the best left back in the PL at the moment and we are selling him for 5.5m, that’s ridiculous, it honestly is.

If Barton, Jonas and Enrique all left that would give us 9 million a year less on the wage budget.

We could then bring in Barnetta who is better than Jonas

Then bring in Bendtner who we need more than Barton

Then bring in Pieters who is just as good as Enrique

I agree he can run at defenders and cause them trouble, just look at what he did against that young lad at Liverpool. But against the top teams he is sometimes non existent, and it’s like pulling teeth watching him mess it up time and time again. I think young Ferguson would make more of an impact
