It was Collo who’s the MOTM in our team 😛
It’s great that Gervinho got sent off and not Barton.
Too bad we failed to capitalise.

Agree re simpson. He was good today. Impressed me. He wasn’t playing against an out and out winger which helped him i think. See how he does when playing against a proper wide man to see whether he has improved much over the summer

    Colo is MOTM by miles.
Saylor, Barton, Tiote, Cabaye, Jonas and Obertan – decent.
Nothing wrong – Raylor, Simpson, Krul, Best and Loven
    Need improve – Ba
    Hopeless – Ameobi

Not sure what you mean. He was against Gervinho, Arshavin and Walcot all match. All 3 have lots of pace and very skillful.

Dannyo / shearermania – agree totally on last posts… today for me Colo was class.. but credit jonas – his work rate was phenomenal – and the sole reason we weren’t totally camped in all game.. he was looking for jose today for the overlap which was a sad sign in a way… still..

anyone else hear the ‘spend some fu%%ing money’ chants today too??

Floridatoon i mean a sort of out and out winger that gets chalk on his boots and runs directly at him. Those guys none of them are out and out wingers. Especially not on the left. Do you know what i mean? An out and out winger is someone like n’zogbia downing ashley young people like that

Barton is a legend and should be offered a new contract. He was fantastic all last season with his anger problems, i think the Song incident was the precursor to this. He shouldnt of gone back over to the diving mong, but he was obiously riled.

    100% passion from the lad.

Good result, the way I see it to better last years placing we have to defend our results from last year and better where we screwed up so today we have our point, albeit in very different circumstances, and next week we have another 1 to defend, although that should have been 3!

Where we’ll improve is by beating Blackburn, Stoke, Swansea (Blackpool Equivalent), West Brom, Everton, Fulham, Wigan and Bolton at home, 4 points last year is a poor return and if we defend our results against the top teams, we’ve a real chance to go 15+ points better, which last year would have had us above Liverpool in 6th!

Right lads- few points from match, what are your feelings?

    1) only 46k there, no atmosphere at all.

    2) Loudest cheer of the day was Bartons name being announced- showed what the season ticket holders think.

    3) Shola continues to be sh1te.

    4) Centre halfs were excellent.

    5) Tiote and Cabeye cannot play together in a 4-4-2 formation. Cabeye is too defensive, game passed him by.

    6) We desperately need Two strikers, none good enough.

    7) Without Joey Barton we would have lost today- except for dead balls he was outstanding.

That was seriously embarrassing from Barton. He gets angry (rightly) because he believes Gervinho has cheated by diving and then effectively dives himself.

I despise this thing about ‘contact’- if you do not fall down naturally then it is cheating, simple as that. It is lying and the equivalent of calling an in ball as out in Tennis would obviously be considered cheating.

Why do people legitimize it with this rubbish that “there was contact”- irrelevant as contact is not a foul in itself-similiarly, you don’t need to fall over for something to be a foul- please referees, could you properly encourage this!
