Tiote Happy At Newcastle – Squad Now More Complete

Cheick Tiote is becoming a bit of a hero on Tyneside, and we’ve heard absolutely nothing from the Ivorian to say he has any intentions of leaving Newcastle, and in fact the opposite is true – he’s very happy on Tyneside.

Cheick Tiote – will he be doing this again today?

And the central midfielder turned down a move to Chelsea in January, and said he was very happy at Newcastle, and today he has come out with some positive comments on Newcastle’s transfer business.  And that’s even though Newcastle have lost a couple of top players in Kevin Nolan and Jose Enrique.

With Newcastle seemingly now willing to sell their top players, they are nowhere near the top several clubs in the Premier League,   like Man United, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham, and it’s painful for some of us,  to think that we were only a short few years ago.

Oh well, but Tiote  has some positive words for Newcastle fans today and he was asked about the direction Newcastle are headed in:

“Yes, I am happy with the direction of the club,”  “For me I do not have a problem to play here. I am happy here.”  “In football you don’t know, every summer some player might need to move and you don’t know when they have to move.”

“But now we do need someone on the left side because Enríque has gone. We don’t have a left back now and we need to address that.”

“Football is relative. There are some big players that we’ve lost – Kevin Nolan, Andy Carroll and Jose Enríque,” “But then there are new players who can make some impact in team.”

“For Newcastle now we have more possibilities than we did last season because the squad is more complete now.”

“I am happy with the squad I think but I don’t know where we can finish. Maybe 10th – maybe even as high as fourth. But we need to work hard because a lot of teams are ready for this season.”

This kind of attitude by a Newcastle player is revered by fans, and it’s great to hear positive comments from one of the top players on Tyneside, and from a player who could turn out to be one of Newcastle’s best ever buys..

Let’s hope the Ivory Coast International has an outstanding game today, doesn’t get a yellow card, and the big question – will he score again?

It’s just great to have players like Cheick at Newcastle!

Comments always welcome.

Altho nothing is perfect yet, i do like the makings of this team.
Pace makes or breaks games these days, and we’re starting to have a bit of that.
In all fairness to Nolan, he could score goals, but pace he had not.
Lets hope the Entertainers are on their return.

    GUNG HO THE LADS!

    With all due respect.
When someone at the club says they’re happy at the club, and the way the teams being formed, lets give them the benefit of the doubt can we not?
Tiote is here, and will be for the coming season, and he’s happy at the club.

Why is there such a big point in saying “oh, he’ll probably leave soon anyway”.
It’s so depressing i dont understand why you bother supporting the club or go to matches even.
Heros, saints, legends, they all come and go, but they always have.
Pump yourself up for todays match rather then saying “oh why bother, its all going tits up anyways”.
    What’s the point?

Cheik will probably be sold next season if he does as well as last year. Probably Chelsea or Man U who will get him for arpund 30 million. All the talk will then be about whether the 30 mill be re-invested but of course i wont be and the fans will again be dissapointed.

I have no idea why people worry about players leaving… For me personally I enjoy the time now instead of thinking of when/if a certain player leaves. Worrying makes you old and tired. Chill out and enjoy the moment.

What do people reckon the team will be today. Am going for this

    krul
    simo
    taylor
    colo
    ferguson
    cabaye
    tiote
    jonas
    lovenkrands
    shola
    ba

i think pards might start loverman on the right as he has said marveux is a bit behind in fitness (not exact quote lol). I know ferguson is NOT a left back but if fit may play there today.

Am going for a 2-1 taylor + shola and rvp to score.
