Is Nicklas Bendtner The Striker For Newcastle?

With Newcastle failing in their attempts to get Gameiro and Erdinc to Tyneside, it seems they have now turned their attentions to Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner.

Nicklas Bendtner – right for Newcatsle?

But we wonder if this player is even worth going after, because he’s so similar in style to the strikers we already have at the club in Ameobi, Ba and Best.

Surely what Newcastle need is a more nimble and creative striker, like Shane Long for example, but he’s gone to West Brom.

Having missed out on some top strikers, it could be that Newcastle have missed out this summer on a top striker.

And the news is that Arsenal want £14M, and that Newcastle have bid £9M, but we’d be very surprised if Newcastle have bid that amount, because Nicklas is simply not worth that much.

And apparently Sunderland’s Geordie manager, Steve Bruce, is said to be after the striker too, but only after he heard Newcastle wanted Bendtner.

And both north-east clubs were represented when the 23-year-old striker played the first 45 minutes for Denmark in their friendly with Scotland at Hampden Park, on Wednesday evening in Glasgow.

We don’t know who else may be available,  but we just don’t think Nicklas is the right player for Newcastle.

But that’s only our view –  what do you think?

Should Newcastle Try To Sign Nicklas Bendtner For Around £9M?

I dunno about Bendtner tbh, can anyone tell what his strengths are? Pace, technicallity, strength?
I read the article abour Ranger, and i’m glad he’s being delt with so strongly. Yes he may be a fast Shola, but a fast Shola would create a bit more chances i would think.

I would say yes as he’s a much better striker than what we currently have. But after yesterday its obvious we need a pacey tricky striker to partner either Ba or Strolla.

Having said that, I reckon Bendtner and HBA upfront would be awesome. Unfortunately HBA is out for 6 weeks, and when back will still be abit of an injury risk.

Someone like Loic Remy would be ideal like!

Bandtner may be similar to Ba Shola and Best but he is better than them all and younger. Him and HBA up front great, him and Ba/Best up front great

However I would go for Rodellega as well and stick them too up front and sell Ranger + Lovenkrands

Please please do not sign a slow moving strike.. we need a quike and skill striker. look what we’ve got Shola, Ba, Best .. they all are tall and slow, we have not chance at the ground.

Rodallega the other striker Pardew is considering? Nimble and quick, not a fantastic goal ratio but would be a good support striker

Shola wouldn’t lace Bendtners boots. 🙂

I would buy him & take Diouf on loan from Man Utd.

    Supporting who though Klatoon haha.

We’ve got more than enough supporting strikers. We need someone who’s going to put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis.

Erdinc wont be coming like. Newcastle set a deadline, and it expired weeks ago. If he does leave PSG it’ll be to some other french team I reckon.

Cant understand why we want to buy Bendtner, he’s to similar player to Ameobi, Ba & Best. We need a pacey striker to play of one of the big one’s who knocks it on from a header or something, and someone who is also going to run at the defense. Jonas is shit when it comes to running at the defence, he has no pace and he bottles every tackle, think he’s pure bs, guess theres loads out there who would disagree though.

Sturridge, definitely, and soon. Come on Ashley, it’s obvious we need a striker in fast.

Out of the three of them, Bendtner, Rodallega and Erdinc, i want the latter, but that remains doubtfull.
Lets hope we get desperate enough to give him what he wants.

Can we just not clone Shearer and have done with it?? Our new midfield, with Shearer at 23 yrs old, he would score for fun!!

Dont know where he’s coming from but we need a number 9 asap – we have only been waiting 7 months!!!!

@davybtoon – the reason loven came on is because they were down to 10men and we had to push them.

Unfortunately the striker we brought on was useless and compounded the fact we need another one lol.

Arsenal were tired after 70 minutes, starting to sink down to our level of pace. Wenger said that too post match.
I think Pardew wanted to capitalise on that, hence putting out another striker.
    I may be wrong tho.

No No No. The guys not what we need.
We need a Striker that can run at the defence, cause defensive mistakes, score goals and make chances. That is not what Bentner can do.
Offer £12m for Sturridge and we might be near getting a decent striker.

If Pardew wants to play a quicker game he cant start with Barton, Cabaye and Tiote in midfield and Ba And Shola up front. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a good player for the balance of the team.

Obertan should have been on from the start in place of Barton.

I remember the days when we had at least a little bit of pace up front instead of 3 lumbering nackers.

We need more speed! A couple of alternatives up top, the way I see it:

    1. Salomon Kalou – Needs a fesh start and would blend right in. Think he’s available.

    2. Patrick Helmes – Appaerently out in the cold in wolfsburg. A proven goalscorer with experience from a top team, Leverkusen. Good option!

    3. Park Chu Young – South korean international CAPTAIN with pace and a good freekick.

    4. Mauro Zarate. Lazio – fast, skillfull, argentinian. Would be a bit expensive, but could be a great option.

    5. Carlos Vela – Never been given a real chance over time has he? Could be a very good signing!

    Forgot 2 options:

Edu – Hoffenheim. Great technic, great pace! My choice!

Lukas Podolski – Could he be available? Cologne needs the money and he could just be a possible target.
