Newcastle After Wigan’s Hugo Rodallega

News in the Sunday Sun today that Newcastle are after Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega.

Hugo Rodallega – Newcastle interested

The two strikers Newcastle have now targeted are both England-based, and are Rodallega and Nicklas Bendtner of Arsenal.

But Newcastle have some doubts about Bendtner’s character and attitude, but Alan Pardew has nevertheless presented both names to the Newcastle Board, and has asked them to pay out the money that is needed to get him another top striker.

The 26 year-old Columbian International has been at Wigan since 2009, and has looked good in the Premier League. and has so far scored 22 goals for Wigan in 94 appearances, since signing for the small Lancashire based club from Mexican club Necaxa.

The 5’11” striker would add some skill and creativity up front, which we don’t have with our strikers at the moment, and therefore could be a decent buy for the club.

In his career, the Columbian striker has 88 goals in 267 total appearances, and has played 40 times for Columbia with 8 goals.

What do you think?

Bendtner and Rodallega not good enough? And they say toon fans are deluded haha

We are mid table Bendtner is better than midtable and Rodallega is in a bottom half but is far better than that level

Both would vastly improve our striking options

Only scores about 1 in 4, not good enough, we need a striker that can score about 1 goal every 2 games to help push us up the table and ensure a top 10 finish.

I know he’s probably not available. But stick a 8m bid in to test the waters at least.

rodallega got 10 and 9 last 2 seasons for wigan. Not too bad considering well it’s wigan. With better service think he could be a 15 goal a week striker. Electric pace. Not so sure on his finishing as i haven’t really watched him that many times to judge him properly. Not a tino fanatic is he?

Firstly we need a a New Left Back – Pieters Seems as if he is on His way . Graham Carr Must Have someone Lined up ?? We cant have these 2 Donkeys fom Wigan or Arsenal. Why Not Get Sturrage on Loan ??? We do have Leon Best etc !!! They must be able to see they have a Great Chance Here !!!

I can’t understand why Pardew took off Ba yesterday and left Shola on? Is Shola some super striker in training?? Ba never got a chance yesterday. Maybe hes not up to 100% fitness but Shola is ding. I was gutted when he signed a 2 year contract extension.

I really hope the reports of Pardew after Odemwingie are true. I would take him over Bendtnar or Rodallega any day.

What worries me is that we have little to no chance of getting either of these in, for me Ba looked lost yesterday and Strolla looked is usual clumsy, bone idle self.

Good player, would go well with Ba.

Still cant believe we got Shola in the team still. What has he done seriously. 80% of his shoots roll to the keeper! Oh, and 20% off the target.

I would be very happy with Rodallega and Pieters coming in! People just talking about he is not scoring enough goals, he plays for wigan, HELLO! Think he can score about 15 goals for a team like Newcastle. He and Ba would be a great match. Rodallega is also some different from Ba, Ameobi and Best (who all are too simiar in their playing). A big yes from me!
