Right, deep breath, time to be analytical.
1st half was like at Arsenal, we were getting bombarded, but slowly caught on afte 20 mins passed.

Obertan went completely missing for me, Shola fought well i though, was a different player than at Arsenal.
Tiote needs….work, should’ve been swapped with Gosling at half time imo, and pushed Cabaye up in the center.
Barton was very quiet today, didn’t do much to the play offensively, maybe he has his mind on other things…?

Jonas and Collo, great players all the way through. We caught on allot better in 2nd half, like at Arsenal.

Biggest point for me today, was that more players were looking better, and Pards couldn’t be more spot on when it comes to gelling process taking 4-5 games.
We’ll see a better team each week i think. I hope we can play a bit more passes on the ground than heaving balls forward, hoping Shola nicks one in.

Overall, lots of positives to take, but still PLENTY to work.
I’m so happy we won, 4 points from two difficult games, better than i’d bet on before we started.

Joking about Pardew right? Tactics spot on? What the whole 1 upfront and long ball tactic that DIDNT work the whole game.

Best player was Colo then Maybe Guti.

@Gorskino: nope, disagree. He said yesterday we had to expect them to have a lot of the ball at home and he set up the team including the changes perfectly. Fantastic!

I thought CaptainCol was the man for me, closely followed by Jonas and Cabaye.
I felt Cabaye struggled initially but it seemed after his booking he just got the bit between the teeth and was fantastic until the end.
I also thought Obertan was AWOL in the first half however I thought he got moved more to the wing and in the second half he was a good option for the balls and helped stretch the play and because of that I thought he actually did a canny job.
Also Bardsleys challenge on Col was shocking, I can only imagine if Barton had done that, just imagine that….

Going for R.Taylor, for his cracking freekick.

Pleased with all the lads except Obertan. has bags of pace, but used it once that I remember that whole match, think he had a dribble at 1 player in the entire 1st half, lost it then walked the rest of the half. Might need to settle a bit more but, I am questioning the sale of Routledge to get him, he may not be the best ever winger we had, but at least he ran at players at every chance he got..

Not sure why Ameobi was not taken off at 70+ mins, I’d rather have Ba on in that time to get in behind them and maybe pinching a goal to kick off his career with us.
Think i will stop there before i get shot down for being a negger or mackem (neither are true)

3 points away to the mackems, and a stunning goal from Ryan.. what more could you ask for?

As cabaye was being asked to play behind the striker, not his position, he did well and played a few nice little touches. But more importantly he ran down everything and seemed to be really hyped for it.

So he gets it for me. Jonas close second.

I thought that we did well to keep our shape at the back in the first 20 mins as they came out strong and fast. The frustration showed for them and their final ball and shooting was mostly poor. The (not given) penalty incident seemed to change it for me. We were mentally strong after that and they looked shocked. They dominated possession first half but we did the same 2nd half. Cracking goal by Ryan Taylor who deserves credit.

I thought Krul made some great saves and did well coming out for crosses. He’s matured a lot this last year.

Ryan Taylor did ok at left back. He was lucky not to get booked for silly tackle on half way line but took his goal brilliantly.

Danny Simpson played well at right back, made a superb headed interception early on when they should have scored. He was caught a few times early on by Sessignon but settled well also getting down the wing in the 2nd half.

Steven Taylor was strong in defence with Colo again. Good partnership there with not much between them.

Tiote had a mare for me. He never stops and deserves credit for his tackling but his distribution was very poor today and put us into a few scary positions when we should have been comfortable. Maybe he’s not fit yet.

Cabaye had a decent game but again is finding the pace of the Premiership hard at the moment. Great strike in the first half. Kept going and ran out of steam. I think he’s going to be great when he further settles in.

Barton had a quiet game for him but still played well. He covered a lot for Tiote and linked well down the right with Simpson. Unlucky not to score with header that was handled on the line. Kept his cool in a hot environment.

Jonas played deep first half covering for Ryan Taylor. He kept possession well and had a really strong 2nd half. He never stopped running and was probably our major threat.

Obertan ran and ran but his final ball or ability to take on the last man was lacking. He has pace to burn but seemed anonymous 1st half. Got more involved 2nd half but left Shola isolated for much of the game.

Shola battled well again and got the better of both Ferdinand and Brown. He had little support again though and despite holding the ball up well was left alone until Gosling came on where he found him with a superb flick on.

I thought we kept our shape and our heads and deserved a win.

As the Mackems base their whole season on beating us their season is almost over already!

    Very happy with the Win..!!

@Pwnanza mate which game were you watching?? Although he was not great Ober made a few runs up the pitch..

Tiote is off par at the moment, just needs a bit of form..

Cayabe was fired up for this game thats for sure! but went missing in the 2nd half of the match..

Guti was brilliant, you can see Pardew has asked him to track back a lot more to help cover Raylor ( WHAT A GOAL!!)

    Colli was solid!

    STaylor was decent.

Simpson got forward a bit but got caught out of position a few times..

Barton was off the pace today..

Krul get saves get positioning, I think we got a great keeper here!!

Ameobi had a decent effort, fell over less too!!

all and all not a great game.. but a win against to scum is always great!

Newcastle really miss fire power up front, Way too many long balls!! it seems somebody is missing in the linking up of plays from the midfield to the strikers..
